I’m surprised these reviews were so high I feel bamboozled! :-/ My dog has an ear infection and I couldn’t get him in fast enough with a local vet unless I did an emergency visit. So I heard about Dutch from Tucker Carlson lol Seemed like a good idea except the medication they prescribed is going to take a week to receive:( My dogs ear infection is pretty bad so a week is a big wait, to rush ship to get in 3 days would cost extra $25. They also add a “pharmacy processing fee of $7 just for prescription for the medication?? That’s lame. 😒 I should have just went to my local vet. Also the meds super expensive, and you can’t get it on chewy because they don’t provide the rx.

The virtual visit with the vet was on time, she was friendly and knowledgeable and provided a prescription for my pup. However, I can never recommend this service. I paid extra money to receive the medication prescribed by July 10. It is now July 14 and I still have not received the medication and it shows to be in transit with the USPS. Totally unreliable and a waste of money.

Great providers but that’s about it. Don’t expect to get an appointment same day. They make it so difficult to get prescriptions for your animals. Shipping takes forever, and when your pet is acutely ill, it’s unacceptable. They try to push you into using their pharmacy by charging you”transfer fees” to other pharmacies and saying that it may take up to three days just to transfer it. While your pet is suffering. The “expedited shipping” that you can choose to pay an arm and a leg for is one day faster at most. Usually it’s 5-7 days to actually get your prescription. This service is definitely not worth it for that reason alone. A trip to the in person vet is faster and cheaper after all the hidden fees they throw at you. Transfer fees, processing fees, pharmacy fees.

The experience with the Vet was great, and everything else was subpar! The site is janky. Customer service, while pleasant, seems unaware and siloed within operations. An entire day, from 9 am - now 7:30 pm, trying to sign up, schedule booking, the 12 mins with the vet, and now it's been 6 hours trying to get the prescription to the pharmacist despite receiving confirmation that it was sent. Considering tomorrow is a holiday, I'm likely now going to have to take him to the ER to get meds. This is a horrible business practice.

Here's what's good: Convenience, mail prescriptions, online communication for appointments, treatment plan, scheduling. Also, the folks I've talked to at Dutch are friendly and try. Where it goes horribly wrong: Fulfillment delays without explanation for a prescription; lack of urgency regarding getting the prescription to you. If you need something even within a 14 day window, be prepared to be told there is a glitch and your prescription is unfufilled. You will spend countless hours going back and forth with very nice people who work at Dutch who don't seem to be getting much information themselves. I am looking at alternatives. They want you to buy all the prescriptions through Dutch (I get it) but when they mess up, they make it very hard to take the prescription elsewhere.

EDIT: I have been struggling for 3 days to get medication shipped. I had to take my dog to his in person vet today for ann antibiotic because I couldn’t get Dutch to send it for a week. Called many times and every person gave a different story. Not to mention the numerous voicemails and emails with no solution. Now I am working on getting the medicine refunded plus all the “processing and transfer fees”. 3rd phone call today and sitting on hold for 20 minutes for far (this time). Original: Excellent experience! The veterinarian was professional, compassionate, and took the time to answer all of my questions. I appreciated how quickly I was able to connect with someone and how clearly everything was explained.

Save yourself! Don’t do it. The vet was wonderful. The problem comes from the “pharmacy”. I had an online vet visit for my dog on 5/30. She has an infection in her mouth and needs antibiotics along with her flea meds and anxiety medication. The vet visit was great. She issued the prescriptions immediately and I immediately filled them through the Dutch pharmacy. It is now Jun 9th and those medications have still not shipped or been filled. While they shut me up for a day by the pharmacy showing the order as shipped, the only thing they really did was print a shipment label. The prescription went back to “processing” today and there is no movement in the tracking issue. I got a 2nd script wrote by the vet that was supposed to be electronically sent to a local pharmacy. Welp, here I am, 24 hours later waiting for customer service to electronically submit the prescription. I called the phone number provided and the message came up that they can’t answer the phone due to an earthquake. Guess what? There was an earthquake in the Philippines so I suppose that’s where their “customer service” is. At this point, I’ve been scammed out of 120 for the yearly membership and 159 for the medications. Now, I can’t get a vet appointment for 4 weeks. This is a total scam. Save your money and your sanity and just take your pet to a local vet. How sad that these people are suppose to care about an animals well being but do everything they can to put them in a harmful situation. I will be disputing both the charges for the medication and the yearly subscription fee with my bank. In response to Dutch’s response. First, it originally showed the meds would ship on the following Monday from the appt. Never was I contacted that any medication was out of stock. When I finally contacted customer service, I made it very clear that I had to have that medication on or before June 10th as we would be leaving for 4 months and no one would be available to receive it. Sure, the medication finally did deliver. Yesterday the 11th. A full day after we left. So it’s sitting in a mailbox and will remain there for 4 months making it junk. You can justify what happened all you want you but your pharmacy charged me $159.00 for medications I got from Walmart for $72.00. More than half off. No dog should have to wait 15 days for an antibiotic if you truly care about a pets health. I will call and get the refund but what about the wasted 159.00 from your pharmacy for meds that I was grossly overcharged for and won’t even be safe to use by the time I get home? And why did it take several days to get a simple prescription transferred? It’s a 20 second process. Shame on you Dutch! And in reviewing, I’m not the only one that has had these exact issues with your pharmacy. Maybe you should correct that issue.

Dutch is great if you can wait over a week for an RX. They also don’t communicate same day. And their expedited “rush” shipping is the same duration as their free shipping option. I used them for flea meds = great. Dog got an ear infection and is very uncomfortable and in pain ≠ great. Not great. Have to take dog to urgent care now because Dutch is delaying my order and won’t communicate with me.
