I paid for a year of membership, and every time I try to make an appointment they let me make the appointment then they cancel it and send me a message to become a member, both my cat and my dog got sick and I thought I had an appointment with them , then to find out minutes before the appointment that it was canceled and the reason that I need to become a member when I do have an active membership, that’s very inconvenient and it’s too late during the day to make local vet appointment… they keep telling me they will contact tech support to fix the problem but never fixed

We’re so sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced trying to book your appointments, that definitely sounds frustrating. After investigating, we found that there was a technical issue with your account that caused the membership verification error. Our team worked closely with you to ensure it was resolved, and I can confirm that the issue was taken care of yesterday.
We truly appreciate your patience while we sorted this out and are standing by if you need anything else or run into further issues. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, we’re here to help.

I was very disappointed with this service. They claim to give caring personalized service. They don't. I constantly received information about dosing for dogs when I just have a cat. My vet ( Dr Lewis I believe it was) did not listen to what I was telling her about my cat that I know very well. The same thing happens every year with my boy Jerry so it's obviously seasonal allergies. Yet she prescribed a special diet which he doesn't need. She prescribed almost $2000 worth of products that were unnecessary for my cat. They claim to offer cheap prices on meds per pill but I was sent 3 times the amount of pills I needed. Kept sending me links for products to buy that were overpriced and unnecessary. They are not caring and the service was not personalized. I told her about things I have for my cat and what I do for him that works and he loves yet she suggested the same things I already have. She did not listen or pay attention. I do not recommend this service.

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. After reviewing your account, I can confirm that the veterinarian recommended a dietary change for your cat, Jerry, because the usual medications weren’t providing relief. The goal was to explore whether a diet adjustment could help before considering new medications.
It sounds like there was some confusion regarding the pet recommendations, the diet information included both cat and dog details, which we understand could be frustrating. We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding or inconvenience this caused.
We value your input and would like to make this right. Please reach out to our support team at [email protected] so we can review your case in detail and ensure your pet’s care plan is accurate and tailored specifically to Jerry’s needs.
Thank you again for your feedback, it helps us improve and ensure every pet parent feels heard and supported.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the opportunity to clarify how our service works. At Dutch Pet, we’re a telemedicine provider, which means our licensed veterinarians can diagnose and prescribe treatment for many common pet conditions virtually. However, we’re not an urgent care service, so if a pet ever needs medication urgently or is in a serious condition, our vets will always recommend immediate in-person care to ensure your pet’s safety.
We offer free shipping, which typically arrives in 4–7 days, and an optional rush shipping service that arrives in 1–3 days. You also have the option to transfer your prescription to a local pharmacy if you need the medication sooner.
If you have any questions or need help expediting care, please reach out to us at [email protected], we’re always here to help ensure your pet gets the treatment they need.

Terrible Experience — Dishonest and Misleading Service
I strongly advise anyone considering Dutch Vet Online to stay away. My experience with them was extremely disappointing. They were not upfront or transparent about their services, and several details they provided turned out to be misleading. I felt completely deceived and regret trusting them.
What’s worse, their communication and customer service were evasive and unhelpful, making it clear they were more interested in charging money than providing proper care or solutions.
If you value honesty and professionalism, avoid this company at all costs. There are far better and more trustworthy veterinary options out there.

Dutch Pet's Promises are Too Good to be True Because They are False Promises...
In this pet-parent's moment of need, Dutch Pet's failed to deliver. After paying for this service I set up an Appointment because my 8.5 year old dog was suddenly having mobility issues concerning a lack of strength in his right rear leg. During the appointment the Vet indicated that my dog needed a prescription for anti-inflammatory and she also agreed to give me a recommendation for a hip&joint supplement. Regarding the anti-inflammatory, the Vet asked me which medications my dog was taking. I gave her the full name and dosages for the 2 meds my pup was currently taking. She did not mention that there would be any issue with prescribing the anti-inflammatory, based upon the medications my dog was taking. She advised that I would receive the prescription and the name of a supplement which would help with my dog's rear leg weakness in a couple of hours. However, I later received an email from the Vet rescinding the promised anti-inflammatory prescription. Her email purported to suggest that she could not prescribe the anti-inflammatory until I had obtained a blood test from my local veterinarian. This was a complete reversal from our conversation online. Frankly, it seemed dishonest and I felt like I was getting punked. Attached to the email, however, was an $80 invoice for a hip & joint supplement that they we're going to sell me. Their price for a month's supply of the supplement was just $12 dollars less than the price I paid to join the service ($92). When I replied that the supplement was available off the shelf at Walmart at a much more reasonable price, I was ignored. Despite my response they continued to bombard me via email and text with the supplement invoice, telling me to order and pay for the supplement. I believe that the reason the price to join the service is so cheap is because they plan to scalp you with a huge mark-up on supplements and drug prescriptions.
The bottom line is that Dutch Pet's bark is much bigger than its bite - that is, they promise more than they can deliver. My advice to people thinking of joining the service-- DON'T DO IT..! Save your money for a real veterinarian who can actually help you and your pet.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how stressful it can be when your pet isn’t feeling well. While Dutch provides access to licensed veterinarians for unlimited virtual consultations and ongoing advice, we’re not an emergency service, and in some cases our vets may determine that an in-person visit or additional diagnostics, like blood work, are needed before it’s safe to prescribe certain medications. This helps ensure your pet’s safety and the best possible care.
We also want to clarify that while your membership covers unlimited vet consultations and follow-up advice, prescriptions and supplements are billed separately, just as they would be with any veterinary clinic. If you ever find a prescribed medication or supplement at a lower price elsewhere, we’re happy to offer price matching, just send us a screenshot and our care team can assist.
We’ve reached out here for your contact details, but you’re also welcome to email us directly at [email protected] so we can help with cancelling and refunding your membership since you haven’t been able to use the service as expected.
We truly appreciate your feedback, it helps us improve and continue providing accessible, high-quality care for pets and their families.

I feel I threw away $100 in a…
I feel I threw away $100 in a membership that a vet called and represented herself in the sweetest of ways.
But for my sick dog nothing changed. She said I need to see a vet.
Knowing what I know now I woukd have kept my $100 membership fee.
Response from Dutch VetOct 22, 2025
I’m really sorry to hear you feel this way, that’s never the experience we want for our members. Sometimes our vets do recommend an in-person visit if they feel it’s important or necessary based on your pet’s symptoms. Our goal is always to make sure your pet gets the best possible care, whether that’s through Dutch or an in-person clinic.
We reached out here to help look into this further, but you can also contact us directly at [email protected] and our team will be happy to review your case and see how we can help.

I paid for Dutch’s telehealth…
I paid for Dutch’s telehealth veterinary service, which advertises access to licensed vets who can prescribe and mail medications. After purchasing, I received unclear and misleading information about whether prescriptions were actually available in Illinois. The first representative, Tori V., gave vague and incomplete answers and failed to mention the true requirements. I continued asking for clarity — then she just stopped responding altogether.
I called and finally reached another representative, Layne G., who explained that prescriptions were only possible if my pet had seen a vet in person within 12 months and that I needed to update my pet’s health history — details never disclosed before purchase. After completing those steps, my account was deactivated due to a system error. Layne promised he would personally follow my case and send me an update by the end of the day, but he never did, showing a clear pattern of non-responsiveness.
My account remains inactive. I’ve called multiple times, left voicemails, and sent follow-up emails with no response. I’ve paid for a service I cannot use and have experienced poor communication, lack of transparency, and zero accountability. All I wanted was timely medical care for my dog — instead, I’ve wasted days and money trying to get a response.

Hi there, we’re so sorry to hear about your experience and truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We’ve reached out here for more information so we can help resolve this, or you’re welcome to contact us directly at [email protected] and refer to this review.
For clarification, when you sign up for Dutch, you’re asked to select your state before moving forward. This step automatically displays any state-specific telemedicine regulations that may affect prescription availability. We’re sorry this wasn’t clear during your experience, and we’d love the opportunity to review what happened and make things right.
