Shittiest service. Cat is sick. I needed a prescription. After the call, the vet prescribed. Overnight shipping doesnt effin exist. It will take an additional $20 or something will still take at least 3 days. if you don't pay extra, it will take a week. If I want a prescription note for me to be able to buy it from another pharmacy, i will have to pay another fee. Like why? This service will probably cost you more. LoL. Just took him to vetco the next day where ai also have premier membership. Cat is all good now.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and we’re glad to know your cat is doing better now. We want to clarify a few points so expectations are clear for future pet parents.
We offer standard shipping, which typically arrives in 4–7 days, and rush shipping, which arrives in 1–3 days. While we do our best to get medications out quickly, Dutch is not intended to be used as urgent care or for emergency situations. For pets who need medication immediately, we always recommend seeking in-person veterinary care, which can dispense treatment the same day.
Dutch is designed to be a preventative care service to help ensure continuity of care, ongoing guidance, and access to veterinary advice year-round. If a prescription is written, you’re welcome to transfer it to a local pharmacy, which does include a $5 transfer fee to cover processing.
The Dutch plan is an annual membership that provides unlimited vet advice for one low yearly fee. The only additional costs are for prescriptions if they’re needed.
We truly appreciate feedback like this and would love the opportunity to look into your experience further. We’ve reached out here to request your contact information, or you can email us directly at [email protected] and reference this review so we can follow up.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

They do not care about animals!
Signed up in December 2025 because we had just lost one of our dogs and the other one was having horrible anxiety whenever we left her alone.
The first visit went pretty well, the vet prescribed two medication to help her deal with the anxiety.
While her anxiety improved, one of the medication was extremely difficult to give her. She didn’t like taking the capsule, but the second month we were trying to wean her off of it, and I had to open the capsule and give her powder. It was a battle morning and night.
I asked to have the medication in a liquid form because she had taken that one other time and it wasn’t a problem. I had originally been told that would be fine, but now it’s been five days and there’s been no movement on getting me the medication. I’ve message them repeatedly, emailed, and called them (could only leave a message) trying to get the medication.
Since they don’t offer in liquid form, the very first day, they said they’d send it out to a pharmacy. I provided them the name and phone number for a pharmacy that I had confirmed would fill the medication. They ignored that and 4 days later, I got an email saying I need to provide them a different pharmacy. I immediately respond with a different pharmacy and crickets. That was Friday morning. I contacted them several times that day so I could have the medication before the weekend. All I got were “cut annd paste” answers about it being a process and they are reviewing it. It’s already been five days and now it’s the weekend. So likely another two+ days before I can HOPEFULLY get her meds. I guess because they don’t make any money having an outside pharmacy filled the prescription, they can’t really be bothered to send it out.
And at the end of every conversation, they write, “Have a great day. Thank you for being part of the Dutch family.” And my inbox is full in auto-generated emails from them trying to sell me more services - stating that my dog is OVERDUE for treatments she doesn’t need and I didn’t ask for.
These people clearly do not care about animals or their human customers. Do not waste your money or time!
UPDATE:
They FINALLY sent the prescription to the pharmacy Monday afternoon. I was able to pick up medication this evening. I’ve gotten MULTIPLE texts and emails just TODAY from Dutch telling me to go to my shopping cart to pay for my dog’s refill.
But I’ve got her other prescription on auto shop. So when I click through, the cart is completely empty (except for the annoying banner telling me Lucy’s overdue for her flea treatment (the one that I absolutely do not purchase from them and never have). But they still hound me to give them more money!
Funny, I’ve left voicemails, sent messages, and emails, for 5 days with basically ZERO response - yet I posted this review over the weekend and they replied early today. It’s obvious what their priorities are and how they value their online reputation above all else. Why don’t they put as much effort into caring for animals and serving their customers? What a sad, sad statement!
UPDATE 2: Dutch asked for my contact info here, which I provided 4 days ago. And, once again, CRICKETS! Clearly it was all for appearances here. And I’m still getting bombarded with emails to buy flea treatments and to buy refills for Lucy’s existing meds which are on auto ship until I get Lucy to my local vet and STOP using Dutch FOREVER!

Poor med delivery
Poor med delivery. Nice concept but poor service. I called Friday evening for an hotspot and could t speak to vet until sat 5pm. Then she ordered meds that I still hadn’t received 7 days later! Conditioner hasn’t been treated in a week so far! Not worth the risk , see your vet!!

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry for the frustration this caused and understand how concerning it can be when a pet is waiting on treatment.
Medication timing can vary depending on the prescription and shipping method, but we recognize how important clear communication and expectations are in these situations. We always recommend in-person veterinary care for urgent needs, as same-day treatment is often the best option.
We would like to look into this further and have reached out to get more details so we can review your account. You can also email [email protected] and refer to this review, and we’ll be happy to help.
We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback.

Nice concept but buggy website and poor service
Nice concept but buggy website and poor service. I have two pets and tried to schedule an appointment for both. The first appointment booked but the second appointment wouldn't book. I worked with their customer service team for over a week to troubleshoot only to find out that they don't allow two active appointment bookings. No notice on the website or app, just a dropped booking request each time.
After finally figuring out the issue, I proceeded to log in the one appointment I was able to book at the scheduled time. However, the veterinarian never showed for the appointment. No notification - just completely didn't show. I messaged the vet, no response. I then noticed that Dutch has a $25 fee for member no-shows, so I reached out to customer service requesting that they reimburse me by an equal amount for the vet no-show. They wouldn't do it...
Hope they get these issues fixed for others, but I'm done.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry for the frustration this caused and apologize for the technical issues you encountered when trying to book your appointments.
We reviewed the situation and did identify a technical issue that prevented the appointment from connecting as expected. Our team attempted to help coordinate a new appointment, but we understand why you chose not to continue at that point.
We appreciate you highlighting the challenges with booking multiple appointments and the lack of visibility around that process. This feedback is helpful as we continue to improve both our platform and communication.
We’re sorry this experience didn’t meet your expectations and thank you for taking the time to let us know.

Unfortunately a big mistake
I purchased the service and made an appointment only to find out that I could NOT get a prescription in my state. My dog has a thyroid condition and so regular med checks are the only reason we go to the Vet. Now I am being told that even though I canceled the same day I cannot have a refund and am just the money for a service I couldn’t use in the state of Iowa anyway. Had I known this I would have never made the purchase.
Response from Dutch VetJan 20, 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry for the frustration and would like to clarify a few important points.
During sign-up, members are required to enter their state, and the platform clearly indicates whether prescriptions are available in that state based on telemedicine regulations. This information must be confirmed before moving forward, allowing members to make an informed decision prior to purchase.
We do provide service in all 50 states. While some states, including Iowa, do not currently allow veterinarians to prescribe medications via telemedicine, members in those states still have access to unlimited veterinary advice for one low annual fee, as well as the ability to purchase over-the-counter products.
After reviewing your account, we can confirm that you reached out on Monday, January 19, 2025, and your membership was cancelled and fully refunded the same day.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback and wish you and your dog all the best.

Very rude vet
Very rude vet, late to the appointment. Couldnt make out my doodles name. Had absolutely no bedside manner. I am a physician and am truly astounded at the situation. I was asking for a broad spectrum eye drop for my little guy who has conjunctivitis, she was asking me to go get a bunch of ophthalmologic tests at the vet. I could see she had no interst whatsoever in really getting a history. Astounding really

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that this visit did not meet your expectations.
Our veterinarians aim to provide respectful, attentive care, and we regret that this interaction felt otherwise. In some cases, if a veterinarian determines that a condition may require a more in-depth examination or diagnostic testing to ensure appropriate and safe treatment, they may recommend an in-person veterinary visit rather than prescribing medication online.
We understand how frustrating that can be, especially when you’re seeking timely relief for your pet, and we appreciate you sharing this feedback. Your comments will be reviewed with our clinical team to help improve the experience moving forward.
If you’d like to discuss this further, our customer care team is available to assist.

They set you up in a nightmare order…
They set you up in a nightmare order TRAP. The only place you will learn you are about to get trapped into a Auto Ship Monthly is a tiny 5pt type face printed in a 30% gray tone far below your final total purchase price. It took days of arguing with them, a formal case opened with PayPal against their unethical practices as well as one filed with our State Attorney General to get them to finally give up the position “It’s Not Our Fault”…and all for just one supplement bottle I had to go thru to get them to finally remove the Auto Ship trap.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry for the frustration this experience caused.
Dutch is a subscription-based service, and subscription details, including auto-renewal and shipment cadence, are presented during checkout. That said, when you reached out to our customer service team with concerns, we assisted with your request and issued a refund, even though the order had already been processed and was unable to be stopped from shipping. As a result, you still received the order in addition to the refund.
Our intention is never to make customers feel misled or frustrated, and we regret that this experience did not meet expectations. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, our customer care team is available to help.

Awful
Awful! They took my money right away but it was impossible to get care. Once I was able to book something I was looking at a week. My vet does same day visits. Then I had to sign a waiver where they also cannot prescribe any medications. So what is this service good for? Telling you your pet has an issue go see a vet for care and medications? Awful experience and now I am fighting to have the $97 they took out of my bank refunded as they stated they do not do refunds? I didn’t get any care, talked to nobody, didn’t get any answers so why am I not able to get a refund for the same day they withdrew the funds? I had the membership for not even an hour and received nothing! Just go to your vet, these online companies are not worth it for our loved ones.

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating this felt, especially when you were seeking timely care for your pet.
To clarify, we are a subscription-based service where members pay one annual fee for unlimited access to veterinary advice throughout the year. During sign-up, members are asked to enter their state so we can determine whether prescription medications (RX) can be provided, as prescribing laws vary by state due to local legislation.
While we’re able to prescribe in many states, there are some where we legally cannot, however, all members still receive unlimited veterinary guidance, regardless of location.
Our service is designed to help pet parents:
- Get expert veterinary advice for concerns big or small
- Avoid unnecessary in-person vet visits when issues can be safely managed at home
- Receive guidance on over-the-counter (OTC) treatments, monitoring symptoms, and next steps
We understand that online care is different from a traditional clinic and may not be the right fit for everyone, especially if same-day, in-person visits are already easily available to you. That said, many members find value in having ongoing access to veterinary professionals between visits or for questions that don’t require an exam.
We’re sorry we didn’t meet your expectations and regret that this experience left you feeling unsupported. We’ve reached out here to request your contact details so we can look into this further, or you’re welcome to email us directly at [email protected] and reference this review so our team can assist you.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, it helps us continue to improve how we communicate and support pet parents.
