Their Customer Service is so hit and miss, occasionally their people are helpful but quite frequently though are useless at providing help. Their phone system is so dysfunctional, I just hung up after sitting on hold for 55 minutes waiting for an associate! Why an earth don’t they have a callback system?! Total waste of customers time. On top of that, their budget billing system is awful, completely underestimated my Bill, and then slammed us with a huge end of year additional bill. Not to mention electric bills just keep skyrocketing. Wish there was another option!!

Really Duke Energy???? Just a tiny bit of rain in Micanopy, FL on May 2nd with barely any wind, and my power goes out! You can't do any better than this???? This is ridiculous!!! DO BETTER!!!!

I was paying through the autopayment option for 7 years with Duke Energy in Polk County, FL. Then my autopay was missed once, and they disconnected me from autopay for one year. They just said on the phone, “that’s how it works.” So now I have to pay manually every month. It feels like they’re punishing me.

WARNING!! If you are a New Duke Energy Customer and you are buying a New Manufactured Home, Duke Energy treats you like a second class citizen. If you were building a Stick Built House you would have power before the first footer was laid. In this case the power was release 6 weeks ago and the interest bill for the house that cannot be lived in yet is in excess of 3K. And DUKE does not care and will not be accountable for ANYTHING!!!

Can't get my deposit back after waiting almost 2 months for using power for 2 1/2 month they required a $1,350.00 deposit to have power to clean up and remodel a previous restaurant . I was told because it's commercial acct. and based on the previous owner's usage I would be charged this large amount of a deposit. I paid or they would not turn the power on Turned on 12/15/25 finished and turned off 03/01/26. Now after 2 months requesting 4 times plus talking with a supervisor I am still waiting, every time I called customer serv. rep tells me whatever they want to each time a different explanation on why I haven't received my money. After they've cleared for any balance of any other accts they now have applied it to a flood light acct. that's auto drafted. No one calls to explain why this has happened or call to tell you they have to do the refund this way, then they wait until you call them back again and again to release it and it goes back to your bank that acct is drafted from... screwed up my accounting for the deposit was paid by other means. No customer service at all...

This company is absolutely terrible. There’s always a damn outage, and I work from home so it directly impacts my job. Now my boss is threatening to write me up because of it. This isn’t a one-time issue either — it happens at least once every quarter without fail. I’m beyond frustrated and honestly pissed off that I’m paying for a service that can’t even stay reliable when I need it most.

The math doesn't math with this. Company!! tell me how I paid them over 753 dollars less then two weeks ago, and they cut my service for a mysterious balance of 185 in change? If y'all told me to pay over 700 dollars to avoid disconnect, and y'all said that it was the total to be paid without any left over balance at that time. They wait a two weeks and cut me off for a balance I didn't know existed. The representative claimed that it was the algorithm that shut me off not duke energy. SMH I don't understand if my bill due the 22nd of April why y'all shut me of on it 2nd for an imaginary balance that wasn't made clear when I paid!
