Drivo Rent A CarReviews of drivo.com

Timely check in and out. However, they provided a vehicle one class lower than booked. Calling customer service was not a positive experience at all. No help or adjustments to compensate the discrepancy. I’ll use another rental company the next time around

Terrible service at Newark NJ, returned car inspected with agent and agreed everything was intact and later to be hit with another claim for damage, no communication or whatsoever. Endless calls with no one ready to pick up and listen. Terrible

Update: 04/05/24 The dispute about the difference got resolved. Thank you! Just be careful, a very SHADY car rental. They prey on their customers, lure them in with their cheap prices and then hit them with hidden fees. They will have you sign several documents with fine prints that will haunt you afterwards. They said I had a scratch on the car above the right tire which was unnoticeable at the time of rental. When I returned the rental a day earlier, I was told I would not get any reimbursements and they had noticed a scratch. This seems a regular practice from Drivo-rent-a-car when reading reviews online. Their insurance company sent an inflated estimate to my insurance company. The scratch could have been buffed which is what my insurance company suggested. But their estimate included changing from the right door to the fender and having the rented car out of commission for 7 days. They milked my insurance company and then billed me the difference my insurance company disputed. No wonder Drivo-rent-a-car has fraudulent charges against them to resolve consumer fraud allegations. Never again will I rent a car again from Drivo-rent-a-car. I learned my lesson. BEWARE and do your homework when renting at Drivo-rent-a-car, check your rental car thoroughly and then jump in to take the risk. Popular travel websites should ban them from their sites because they sell a scam. ACE & FOX operate under Drivo-rent-a-car.

Unfortunately Drivo or ACE fits the saying: you get what you pay for! Lesson learned from me. 1) the place is external to EWR so takes longer to get there from P4 a shuttle is needed. Don’t go to Terminal A where most other rental are 2) customer service is lower than average, they don’t even have a restroom in that facility 3) the car I got while it drove fine the brakes (rotors) needed fixing, every time I hit the brakes steering wheel was shaking! Due to timing I could not go back and get another car. So buyer beware.

Nickel and dime on everything. Want to leave the state? Oh you should have read the 50 pages in fine print to see you’ll be charged $15/day to go 1 ft into another state and even if you only do it once, you’ll be charged the daily fee for your entire rental. Oh and they will make it IMPOSSIBLE for you to prove insurance coverage and will upsel you unnecessarily. Not to mention they are rude and the car was crappy. NEVER AGAIN.

I rented with Ace in Newark due to low rate instead of company recommended brand. Three issues, transportation and car readiness awful. Even though they are 3 min away, they said no pickup for 20 min. and you had to call them to get picked up. Got to loc and they made me show my personal ins card because I declined ins. as I always do on work related trips. They used bait/switch, how would I like to drive a newer car for $100 more and my car would be quite awhile before it was ready. I declined the new car and had to wait for quite awhile for MY car that I requested was cleaned (cars are supposed to be ready)!!!!!

directions from airport to get to rental was odd and had to call and wait for someone. Odd setup! Also wanted to see my proof of insurance and the declaration page. Never had a rental company do that. They apparently switched to a new charging vendor and put two holds on my credit card for the rental. Removed the hood after car was returned which was awesome in a timely manner.

The service was terrible. Our flight was delayed and we called ahead of time to Fox about our reservation, they said no problem, 2 hours is no big deal you have a 6 hour window. We show up here and the guys gives us a hard time and said our reservation was cancelled after 1 hour because you have to call this location. Nowhere in any damn email does it say that. Tells us to hop back on the shuttle to the airport to another rental car place. Then after back and forward he goes into a room and comes out and says yeah no problem you can have your reservation, only caveat is the price we paid for the full sized vehicle they are out of so we got the next size smaller car while still paying for the larger size. On return the shuttle driver who was pretty much useless told us in between him being on the phone talking to some ladies about how he wants to meet up with them that we have to load all our bags in and out. The service is bad, and clearly dysfunctional, but they make their money off of Expedia and kayak where you don’t know who you’re renting from and exploring people. Don’t waste your time going here.
