When I checked in for the car. The representative stated that I got a compact car. And I said that’s all I needed. He said he will talk to the corporate office to get me a discount where the price would stay the same for an upgrade. He told me the total is $395. I then asked him is that how much it is to go to Canada so expensive? He smiled and said yes. I didn’t question it. Until I got home, it seems odd that it will cost so much to enter Canada. I started looking into it, and I called customer service. They told me that I got an upgraded car for an additional fee. He said that the office advised me and I told him no. While I was signing the paperwork with the representative. I couldn’t see the breakdown Because the keypad only let you put your initial. I question what am I signing for that I can’t see? He tells me, I couldn’t see it. All he said I’m paying $395 total. Spoke Customer service over the phone regarding a print out with the breakdown of the charges. But he said I wouldn’t have it until I return the car. I asked to have a refund for the extra charges he then stated that there are cameras and they will investigate and called me back within 3 days. I have not heard from them. When I dropped off the car I spoke to the supervisor who then contacted the corporate office who then said they will contact me within 24 hours and that camera review takes 7 days. Its now day 8th and I have not heard from anyone. The representative at the pickup spoke so softly that I couldn’t hear him well. I think it was purposely done to get me to pay extra. This is my 3 time renting and didn’t experience this before.
