Drake SoftwareReviews of drakesoftware.com

I've used Drake Software for the past 10+ years. The support is excellent. The program is a solid, inexpensive buy for basic returns. It leaves a little to be desired when dealing with complex business returns. But it doesn't cost $12,000 a year! All software providers struggle keeping up with the state changes, and Drake is no exception. However, Drake does an excellent job listening to customer feed-back and making changes in a timely manner. I do feel that the user does need to know what the finished return should look like. Where the numbers flow to, etc. I will continue to use Drake software because of the support, ease of use, reliability and price. There is no better deal out there!

Drake is overall a great tax product. Easy to use and proforma prior year data for use with the current year return. This year the QBI section for K-1's seemed to give our preparers a little more trouble with it being listed separately from each K-1. Would like to see options to link 1099-NEC's/MISC directly from the Schedule's C, E and F to make sure preparers utilize those forms (like the 99G and PATR on Schedule F). With this difficult year of changes and all that the programmers had to deal with, Drake was great on getting the software updated timely and working to keep up with our ever changing government regulations

Have been using Drake since 2017 and have yet to be dissatisfied. Customer support is always available and the additional tools make tax season a bit less daunting.

1. Improvement needed in SEARCH engine within Drake tax software. Dealing with error made due to that issue. 2. Alternative Motor Vehicle credit did not auto populated/calculated based on vehicle info entered.

Software is great for the price. However, often data from federal return does not flow well to the State of Hawaii. I had to manually enter the Hawaii portion of K-1's and some other areas of Hawaii returns. I know the State of Hawaii is not your greatest state as far as the sales are concerned, but I feel as though we are being neglected.

First year with Drake. Very reliable and it gets easier, but not very user friendly. ProSeries would allow me to trace from the return to the schedules and details. Also errors were resolved by a double click and correction.

I am really very happy with your program. After using it for several years this is the first time that there was some technical issues. You seemed to resolve them the best you can - most software problems. Also the first time that I ever had to wait on the phone for someone to pick up.

I am disappointed with Drake software. It's education module on the federal level is weak and does not provide optimization. The Massachusetts module should allow overrides since it doesn't cover some situations requiring unnecessary paper filing. The Massachusetts filings were held up for unemployment even for people who were not going to eligible for Massachusetts relief ( income greater than 200% of FPL). However, Drake support remains strong.
