Drake SoftwareReviews of drakesoftware.com

Using Drake Tax Online it gets better, but you can tell that they are transitioning. Not sure about how things will pan out for the program users for download. But if this is a tech company now, as opposed to a tax filing platform company time will tell. The online experience is rather straightforward. I switched because I'd rather a company keep data secure and not my server. I just have a small practice and not building an empire.

We have used DrakeSoftware for 16 consecutive years. data entry, calculate and view mode is a simple process and search function for forms and the F1 key for assistance is highly useful. Printing of returns and checks is also very streamlined. I have considered other tax softare and have used Taxwise among other but even with a few minor glitches, Drake tend to respond to change requests.

I have been a tax professional for over 40 years. I have graduated from several software packages over the years. Finally I have found a software application that is at least 85% able to handle the hundreds of personal and business returns that I prepare. I wil stay with Drake software as long as I am engaged in the business of tax preparation and client support.

Loving Workflows, keeps us on track and allows staff to see where in the process things are when clients call to ask, without having to bother everyone in tax. BUT, when we e-filed extensions, it moved all of the returns to "e-file accepted" which is imprecise. There should be an Extension Accepted that it automatically moves to, so people don't think we've e-filed returns that are not complete. This will cause confusion, especially with non-tax staff responding.

Customer support is always reachable. I always get the answer whenever I have an issue. I have been using Drake 7 years now. I recommend Drake to everyone.

Have been using Drake Software ever since Tax software. Would not think of using anything else. Have looked at other programs but for my size firm it the most cost affortible.

When Drake works well, it is legitimately the best. They answer the phone, the software is easy to use, and the people are really nice - five stars! The downside is if there is a moat around experts, and essentially you need to "escalate" and wait by the phone if your account has operational issues. I do think things eventually get fixed, but it is inefficient. I wish I had asked more questions before automatically taking advice when I renewed, as I didn't anticipate the logistical issues that their suggestion caused. They do try, but if it is a complex issue, it can take some time to fix, and you can't directly contact or maintain people to fix it completely. Eventually it gets done, but it is disjointed and kind of annoying. I will still use Drake, but I do wish I had a dedicated relationship manager on the occasions I needed it.

Good product. Good individual customer service that is provided by the corporate office.
