I am rating Draft2Digital with 1 star because their system is entirely unfair to beginner authors. There is no guidance, no warnings, no strike system, and just a permanent ban. There is no chance for a second chance or to rectify the mistake - account closed, and that’s it. I'm aware of the need to keep low-quality or questionable content off their platform, but they're doing it wrong. Simply reject or remove the specific book that is not meeting their standards, and allow the author to amend the book. Instead, they delete their entire account and all content. On top of that, they even stated: " Opening new accounts after receiving this termination notice will result in all royalties earned being forfeited on those accounts, per our terms of service. " So even if you try again with original content, they’ll just take your royalties. Why even accept an account at that point, just to keep your money? For a platform that claims to support authors, this is a horrible way to treat people. If you’re a new writer or artist, don’t expect any help or second chances here.

Terrible company. I absolutely regret trying to publish my book through them. My book made sales approx 6months ago and they still haven’t paid me what is owed to me. I’ve tried contacting them and haven’t heard anything back from them. If you’re considering publishing through D2D, do yourself a favour… don’t. They will likely try and keep your earnings and will ignore any form of contact to reach out to them

If I could give zero stars, I would. Draft2Digital rejected my valid Pakistani ID, demanded a passport or license that takes months to obtain here, and then banned me instead of letting me update my account once I finally got the documents. To make matters worse, they withheld nearly $200 in royalties I had already earned. This is unfair, inflexible, and deeply disrespectful to international authors. Stay far away from D2D if you are from a country who's state ID is not acceptable by D2D they will ban you and blame you for identity fraud.

I opened an account which included filing the tax information which I did. I am a Canadian living in Mexico and worked in the US about 15 years, hence have a SS# and of course, I have my Mexican tax registration #. I am marketing my books in the US because they are English-language books, not Spanish. I had to go through their third party tax facilitator and this required a bot interview where I had to supply all my data. Fine. Then I received a request to upload all my document to their 3rd party dropbox which I did. I kept getting flagged and each time went through the process that takes 15-20 minutes to do. I have done this four times. To close your account, you have to delist your books (which i did) And they still show up. And you have to contact 'support' to close your account. I wish I had looked at Trust Pilot before opening an account.

I published 10 books through Draft2Digital and was earning royalties. After my tenth book was published, Draft2Digital disabled my account and blocked access to my books and payments, telling me the reason was “multiple accounts.” I have only one Draft2Digital account and I never created any other accounts. I contacted support via their contact form and by email but have not received a satisfactory resolution. Please be careful and check terms and hold onto screenshots of your reports if you publish through them.

I have published several of my ebooks on this platform and am satisfied with them so far. So for ebooks they are really the best service I can think off and that would be 5 stars. The 3 star rate? For print books I would give them 1 star. They are a total headache to get a book in print. You can use your ebook file, but than you keep getting errors to fix like mismatching ISBN. If you fix the issues, you need to proof the book to get and ISBN. To get the right ISBN in, you need to pay. If you live in Europe, author copies are unaffordable, since they are shipped from the USA and this means paying so much taxes on them, that it is not worth it. So yes, they are great for ebooks, the support is helpful, but I would not recommand them for paperbacks. Their audiobook service isn't working at all right now, but since that is another platform in will not comment on that one.

I would have rated 0. So, I wanted to expand my reach and published my books accepted in KDP on the platform, they sold several copies then they banned my account with very malicious accusations. This is not a good platform for writers.

They have humiliated me with the way they printed my book and the way they did the audiobook it sounds horrible I am so embarrassed. I don't recommend using this service. Finding your book on all of these sites is extremely hard and you won't be seen. Unless you have the money to spend on marketing I wouldn't even do that. Because it is not worth it it doesn't do your book any justice.
