DOTC gets an A++++++ from me! It was my first time ever going to Africa and Kenya and I’m definitely glad I went with them! The itinerary was on point and we got to experience a lot of amazing things without it being overwhelming.
Anaya was such a great DOTC host, they literally couldn’t have picked anyone better! She was the youngest person on our trip, yet so fun, outgoing, warm and welcoming, responsible, and just overall a great vibe!
Our local guides Martin and Richard were amazing! Truly some of the sweetest people. They took such great care of us and made the trip extra special and fun!
All the places we stayed at were great and the people who hosted us were so hospitable and kind 🤎
The people, the food, the activities, the gorgeous wild animals, the fresh tea, the farewell cave restaurant dinner, the resort, the sunset canoe ride, the music, and so on…it was all spectacular! ✨✨✨
This was my first time solo traveling outside the U.S. and doing it full on with a group and travel company. It was definitely one of the most memorable trips I’ve been on! 10/10 recommend and I’m totally going on another trip them!

A really special way to travel and meet…
A really special way to travel and meet other South Asian people. The trip was organized enough and the mix of people that attended were really great. There were some unique and adventurous experiences that were part of the itinerary and would love to get more cultural exposure as part of it as well.

Girls Only Morocco Trip
So I went to the girls only Morocco trip. I would absolutely NOT recommend it. It was one of the worst decisions.
1) Itinerary- Lack of accountability by Dose of Travel. So DTC booked 27 girls for this trip, which absolutely did not make any sense for the itinerary that was created. Due to the high volume of people, there were nice hotels (Riads) that the travel group could not book. Instead of 4-5 starts hotels, we had to stay at 2-3 stars hotels. Due to the large group, a lot of the activities were canceled, for which we paid for. A lot of the activities were also pushed which further delayed subsequent events. As a result we were not able to see some of the cities, arriving late at night and leaving early morning. So essentially I paid to spend the day in the bus. It was basically a bus vacation. Dose of Travel should have reduced the number of people or have a more slow paced itinerary or have multiple smaller groups with different tour guides. The reason behind having such a large group is essentially for profit.
Whenever activities were canceled or we arrived late, the tour guide kept blaming us even though everyone was ready and prepared at the indicated time and location.
The large group also made it difficult logistics wise, in terms of transportation. A lot of people lost their baggages or had issues with their baggage because it was difficult for the tour guide to manage so many passengers and variables.
2) Dose of Travel Host. The host was essentially a waste of space. She did not know anything about the itinerary or date/timelines. Whenever we asked her a question she always had to refer back to the tour guide. She only wanted to hang out with her friends. But then in that case she should not have taken the responsibility of being the DTC host.
3) Hammam: Even though this was a girls only trip, they sent us to Hammam where there were male workers and male customers. The male worker peeked into the room while we were having a massage. This was absolutely unacceptable and highly uncomfortable. Either the travel group or DTC should have ensured that they sent us to a women only hamma.
4) High cost. For dinner and lunches the tour guide brought us to restaurants that were super expensive and not good at all. Considering that 90% of the meals were not covered, this became extremely expensive. It was also expected to tip at every restaurant, porters, hotels, and transporters, which we were not madd aware beforehand. This added to the already high costs of this trip.
5) Lack of Communication. We had to go and ask a lot of the essential information (departure times, next activity timeline, hotel name and so on). This was not provided by the tour guide or useless Dose of Travel host. A lot of the time we had very limited time to get ready in order to meet the timelines
By the end of the trip, every single girl felt disappointed by the trip. We all had expected much more. This could have an enjoyable experience if only Dose of Travel had kept smaller groups and a better itinerary suited to actually explore Moroccan culture.
Overall, I essentially paid over 3k to sit in a bus. Out of 8 days, there was only 1 day where we actually did any activities (that were not already free) and actually enjoyed. I would NOT advise anyone to travel ever again with Dose Of Travel. It was complete waste of money.

Hi Soniya,
Reading your review was very hard for us. We’re truly sorry that your first DOTC Morocco experience felt this way. We put a lot of care into curating our trips, so it’s heartbreaking to know you left feeling disappointed rather than inspired.
We’re grateful you still took the time to write such a detailed account. Feedback like this helps us see clearly where things broke down. Safety and comfort are non-negotiable for us.
This Morocco itinerary has been run four times before, including with large groups, and up until now it has received very positive reviews. Your experience makes it clear we need to take a hard look at this departure. We’re reviewing the pacing, accommodations, and communication with our local partners to see where things went wrong and how we can prevent a repeat. The itinerary is designed as a fast-moving trip to cover a lot of the country and before booking we list the daily schedule, inclusions and tipping guidance so guests can plan accordingly, but your comments show we need to communicate that style even more clearly and manage group size better.
The local guide’s role on DOTC trips is to run the logistics and keep travelers safe, while our DOTC host is there to help with community and connection. Our hosts aren’t licensed guides and don’t lead tours. We clearly need to do more to set that expectation and to make sure our hosts are adding value on the ground.
We’re deeply sorry this was your experience and will be reaching out privately as well. Thank you again for being so candid. Your honesty will help us make the changes needed so future DOTC travelerrs get the trip they’re promised.
Best,
Team DOTC

Morocco 2025
This was my very first experience with DOTC and, like many of the other girls on the trip, I had high expectations.
The trip is advertised by DOTC as an aesthetically pleasing tour of Morocco (staying in cute riads, going to cute cafes, shopping). I expected a trip curated toward a unique experience while bonding with fellow South Asian girlies.
Instead, we were herded around like cattle as a large group of 26 girls. We rushed through the itinerary with several missed experiences due to poor time management, lack of organization, and little to no communication.
A couple of accommodations were not riads, but seemingly budget hotels that fell below par. The restaurants and shops we were taken to also felt very commercialized toward tourists.
Our DOTC ambassador’s overall lack of contribution to the experience was extremely disappointing. There could have been so many more chances to get all the girls to bond. It would also help if the ambassador was well-versed for the destination to help provide informative answers, tips, fun facts.
I highly commend our tour guide, Ali, for doing his best to keep everything under control. He ensured all girls were taken care of at all times. There were many stressful moments during the trip that he handled with finesse.
Morocco is a beautiful country and I met so many wonderful girls. I am very grateful to DOTC for providing a safe experience. However, I do hope for improvements for future travelers who book this tour so that they do not feel misled and disappointed.

Hi Samantha,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We’re really sorry to read that your first DOTC trip didn’t feel like the unique, beautiful experience you were hoping for. That’s tough to hear, especially since this itinerary has received wonderful feedback in the past, and we never want anyone to feel misled or disappointed.
We’re grateful you also mentioned the positives. Morocco truly is a special place, and we’re glad you felt safe, met amazing women, and appreciated Ali’s efforts to keep things running smoothly. Creating space for South Asian travellers to connect is the heart of what DOTC is about so knowing you still found some of that community matters to us.
At the same time, we take your concerns very seriously. We’re already reviewing this program with our local partners to understand where communication, pacing, and accommodations fell short on this departure and how we can improve. This Morocco itinerary is designed as a fast-moving trip to cover a lot of ground, and we list the daily schedule and inclusions before booking so guests can plan accordingly. Your feedback makes it clear we need to keep improving how we communicate that style of travel and how our hosts show up to support guests on the ground.
Your honesty will help us make the changes needed so we can continue running our most popular trip.
Best,
Team DOTC

Disappointing experience
I want to provide this feedback in the hope that it’s taken constructively, as I truly want to see this company succeed. I hope they review it carefully and make the necessary changes to create a better experience for future travelers.
I recently joined the girls-only Morocco trip that several other reviewers have commented on, and unfortunately, I share many of the same concerns. From the very start, there were significant issues.
Communication
There was a severe lack of communication before and during the trip. I learned three days into the trip that emails, a Zoom call, and a WhatsApp group had been sent out prior - none of which I ever received, despite booking eight months in advance and providing my contact information. The company should have ensured that every traveler received this info. On the trip itself, updates were inconsistent and last-minute - often we were given only 30 minutes’ notice to be somewhere, leaving us constantly chasing information.
Hosting
The local Moroccan guide was absolutely incredible - he managed a large group with professionalism and care. However, the DOTC host’s role was unclear. She did not provide guidance, answer questions, or support the group in any meaningful way, and seemed more focused on spending time with her friends who were also on the trip than on ensuring travelers had what they needed.
Group Size & Logistics
When I booked, I was told the group would be capped at 15–20 people. Instead, there were 27. This had a ripple effect across the entire trip. We were rebooked into hotels instead of riads, which did not match the promised quality. The oversized group also caused constant delays and made it impossible to follow the itinerary as planned. Several activities that were advertised and included in the cost were skipped entirely, without explanation of how those funds were reallocated.
Overall Experience
All of us invested significant money, time, and energy into what was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip. While I’m grateful for the friendships made and the chance to visit Morocco, the overall experience did not live up to expectations. Many of us left feeling disappointed and that we did not receive the value we paid for.

Hi Mehreen,
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re heartbroken to hear this trip didn’t live up to what you were hoping for, and genuinely surprised because this itinerary has received great reviews on previous departures. We truly appreciate that you’ve framed your feedback constructively and that you still want to see DOTC succeed.
We’re glad you highlighted some positives, especially Ali’s professionalism and the friendships you made. Bringing people together around the world is the heart of what we do.
We also take the concerns you’ve outlined very seriously. This Morocco itinerary has been run the same way four times (with the exception of the Fes hotel) and has consistently received great reviews, even with its fast-paced schedule. Your comments make it clear we need to look closely at what changed on this departure. We’ll be emailing you to understand more about your experience.
The maximum group size for this trip is listed on the website as 25 plus a host. At the time of your booking there may have been fewer people, but demand for this date was high. We understand that larger groups can impact pacing, and your feedback reinforces the need for us to manage this better. The local guide’s role is to handle the travel logistics and keep the group safe. Our DOTC host is there to nurture community and connection but is not a licensed guide and does not lead tours. This is the case on all our trips. We’ll continue to improve how we communicate these roles so expectations are clear before departure.
Thank you again for your honesty. Feedback like yours helps us improve and deliver on the promise of DOTC for future travelers.
Best,
Team DOTC

Great people, poor planning
This was my first DOTC trip, and while I had an amazing time overall because of the incredible group of women I traveled with, and Morocco being a beautiful country the company’s planning and organization were very disappointing.
I was especially excited about staying in Riads, as they were a key selling point of the trip, but that promise wasn’t fulfilled. Most of our stays were in hotels, some of which had serious issues ; rather than Riads that were advertised. The only exception was Chefchaouen, which truly felt special. In Marrakech, the group was split across three different Riads of varying quality, which felt unfair. For the price point, I expected stronger oversight and more thoughtful execution, especially for something marketed as luxury.
Many of these issues seemed to stem from the fact that our group was so large. Because of the size, we ran late multiple times, had to skip stops, and often felt rushed. The itinerary also did not align with what was originally presented.Several experiences were skipped, altered, or condensed in ways that felt disorganized. The accommodations also appeared not to have been properly vetted, and the inconsistency in quality was disappointing.
Food stops were another drawback. Most leaned heavily on tourist-oriented restaurants, which took away from the immersive aspect of the trip. I would have much preferred more opportunities to try authentic Moroccan cuisine and street food.
That said, the women and our tour guide Ali on this trip made the experience unforgettable. Without them, the shortcomings in planning and execution would have overshadowed everything.
I truly love the purpose DOTC has creating space for South Asians to connect and travel together, but to fully deliver on that promise, the company needs to improve its organization, vetting, and follow-through on what it sells. DOTC has so much potential, and I hope it grows into the kind of experience it aspires to be!

Hi Nida,
Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review and also for sharing your thoughts on our feedback form. It means a lot to us that you were open about both the highs and the lows of your first DOTC trip.
We’re thrilled to hear how much you loved Chefchaouen, the Sahara camel ride and overnight desert experience, and the hammam after the desert days. Those are some of our favorite moments too. We’re especially glad to know that the group of women you travelled with made the trip so memorable. Bringing South Asian travelers together to laugh, support one another and create life-changing memories is exactly what DOTC is built for.
At the same time, we’re deeply disappointed that the planning and execution didn’t live up to what you were expecting. We take your concerns about accommodations, pacing, food stops and the hosting role very seriously. We’ve begun reviewing this itinerary with our local partners to address these issues and to ensure that what we advertise is exactly what guests experience. This Morocco program is designed as a fast-moving itinerary to see as much of the country as possible, and on the booking page we provide a daily breakdown of what’s included so guests can plan accordingly. Your comments make it clear we need to keep improving how we communicate the style of travel and we will relay this to our local partners as well.
Thank you for believing in the vision of DOTC. While this trip felt short, we hope that we can meet your expectations on the next one!
Best,
Team DOTC
