Approximately two weeks ago, given their advertised “Satisfaction Guarantee”, I ordered a toner cartridge for a Brother printer from a company advertised as Doorstepink of Chatsworth, California, The cartridge arrived at my home in New York about a week and a half later. Doorstepink shipped the cartridge to me from California using only the single somewhat flimsy cardboard carton as you would find this item displayed on a retail store shelf, The carton had no protection whatsoever and when it arrived it had been severely damaged and, if this site will allow me to do so, I am including pictures of the carton in the exact condition the item was received. When I contacted Doorstepink and attempted to make arrangements to exercise the “Satisfaction Guarantee” I was asked to send pictures of the item back to the company which I did. After sending the pictures I was asked to place the cartridge in my printer- in other words I was asked to take a chance that the cartridge would not harm my printer. I refused to test the cartridge in my printer and insisted upon returning it to which I was told would have to do so at my own expense. How can it be even minimally fair to a customer who pays for and receives an item that was packed and shipped -completely unprotected- by the supplier to require the customer to pay for the cost of returning that item? I strongly suggest giving serious thought to anyone considering doing business with Doostepink of Chatsworth, Califorornia.
