Terrible experience with Dodo Payments. They verified and accepted my bank account, but after I processed payments and initiated my first payout, suddenly they claimed my routing number was missing — even though their bank setup never gave me a field to enter one.
My payout is now stuck. I contacted them by email with screenshots and full details — no reply. I contacted live support, which says they typically respond within a few hours — still no reply after hours and repeated messages.
I trusted their verification, integrated their payment system into my website, processed real money through them, and now I am left completely in the dark when trying to withdraw it.
This has cost me time, money, and trust. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend staying away from Dodo Payments.

All money taken without justification
Dodo Payments retained my entire balance after a 120-day hold without providing an itemized explanation
My experience with Dodo Payments has been extremely concerning. They approved my account and processed customer payments, but later closed the account and held my remaining balance for 120 days.
I was originally told that the hold was intended to cover possible refunds, chargebacks, disputes and other customer obligations. After the 120-day period ended, Dodo Payments informed me that they would retain the entire balance permanently and that no payout would be made
Their final email referred only to an unspecified “violation under our policies.” They did not identify the specific transaction or activity in question, the precise contractual clause allegedly violated, or provide an itemized calculation showing any refunds, chargebacks, fines or other losses covered by my balance. They also stated that the decision was final and would not be reconsidered
My main concern is the lack of transparency. Closing an account is one issue; permanently retaining a merchant’s full balance after the announced risk period has ended, without providing a specific explanation or accounting of the liabilities, is much more serious.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dodo Payments to businesses that depend on predictable payouts. Before using this platform, merchants should carefully examine its reserve, termination and set-off provisions and understand that account approval does not necessarily guarantee that collected funds will ultimately be paid out.
I remain willing to update this review if Dodo Payments provides the applicable policy clause, the factual reason for its decision, and a complete accounting of how my balance was used.

Hello,
We take these concerns seriously and want to clarify the facts.
Our compliance review found clear evidence that the account was being used to offer IPTV-related services. The product created through the account was also for IPTV-related services. IPTV is a prohibited business category under Dodo Payments’ Merchant Acceptance Policy.
Additionally, the account did not have a valid Return URL configured, which is a required part of the payment setup and further contributed to our compliance concerns.
As a regulated Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments must enforce its published policies consistently. We cannot permit prohibited activities or make exceptions when relevant business activities have not been disclosed during onboarding.
The 120-day reserve period exists to cover potential chargebacks, disputes, refunds, and other customer-related liabilities. The completion of this period does not create an obligation to release funds from an account that Dodo Payments has terminated for a policy violation. The reserve period and account termination are separate matters governed by our Terms of Service, which were accepted during onboarding.
Following our compliance review, we terminated the account in accordance with those terms. We have reviewed this matter multiple times and reached the same conclusion each time.
Our decision is final. We will not reopen the account, reverse the termination, reconsider the compliance decision, or release funds outside the terms applicable to the terminated account.
This decision was not arbitrary. It was based on the documented activity associated with the account, the product created, the absence of a Return URL, our Merchant Acceptance Policy, our Terms of Service, and our compliance obligations. We apply these requirements consistently across our merchant base.
We understand that you may disagree with the outcome; however, there is no further action available from our side regarding this matter.

Move before its too late
Starting out, you will also receive payments on time. Later - However, once you get 3–5 disputes, they will ban you. They only allow a 0.5% dispute threshold.

Hi there,
When we receive multiple disputes from customers regarding a merchant, it raises serious concerns about product quality, customer satisfaction, and the level of customer support being provided.
As the Merchant of Record (MoR), we are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the transactions processed through our platform. Excessive disputes directly impact our payment partners and the overall reliability of our platform. We therefore have an obligation to take appropriate action when a merchant presents an elevated dispute risk.
Account suspensions are made following an internal review of the relevant account activity and available information. We take these matters seriously and do not suspend merchant accounts arbitrarily, and we cannot continue supporting merchants whose products or services result in consistently high customer dissatisfaction and dispute rates.
If you believe this decision was made in error, please provide your account details and relevant information so our team can review the matter properly.

Hi there,
We're unable to locate any account or business matching the details in this review, so we can't verify the specific claims made here.
To be clear: Dodo Payments does not suspend accounts arbitrarily. Any restriction follows a documented compliance and risk review, and merchants are notified at the time action is taken.

Not supported country So they took all…
Not supported country So they took all my information, including my login details, and only then showed an "Unsupported country" page. Why not mention that right at the start instead of wasting my time?

Hi there,
We would like to clarify that Dodo Payments does not support merchants from Pakistan. This is an explicit eligibility requirement and is clearly documented on our website. Our supported-country policy applies to all merchants and is based on our regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements.
We understand that this may be disappointing. However, in this case, the account was not approved due to our published eligibility requirements and not as an arbitrary decision. We encourage merchants to review our supported-country information and eligibility requirements before creating an account.

Avoid it at any cost
Avoid it at any cost. It might work for short period of time but if any of your user will open dispute for more then 2-3 payments then you will get auto banned and support will not help you with that.

Hi,
We take these concerns seriously and would like to clarify the facts.
We terminated your account in January after identifying clear violations of our Merchant Acceptance Policy. During our review, we found that your business was actively selling IPTV subscriptions offering access to more than 50,000 live TV channels and on-demand content. We also determined that you were using an additional website to sell IPTV services that you did not disclose during onboarding. IPTV services of this nature fall under our prohibited business categories and are not eligible for processing on our platform.
Our compliance review identified these policy violations after onboarding. As a regulated Merchant of Record, we must enforce our policies consistently and cannot make exceptions where merchants engage in prohibited activities or fail to disclose relevant business information.
We do not make decisions arbitrarily or unfairly. We made our decision only after a thorough compliance review and in accordance with our published policies, which we apply consistently to all merchants.

Fraud practices: approving account, collecting funds, then suspending under terms
My account was approved by you and allowed to process payments. It was your responsibility to review my business and determine from the beginning like major platforms whether I was eligible to use your platform or no, as I was never informed about your terms.
but Instead, you approved my account, allowed me to operate normally, and let me continue until I accumulated around USD 1,000 in sales.
Then, exactly at payout time, you permanently suspended my account, disabled the refund option for my customers, and took the funds.
This raises serious concerns about fraud practices, as it severely impacts a merchant's cash flow. You retained the entire balance as if it were pure profit, without considering the operational costs, supplier payments, and losses incurred while fulfilling customer orders.
This situation makes absolutely no sense. What potential risk could still exist after 120 days ?? with zero disputes, zero chargebacks, zero refunds, and zero customer complaints?
If there had been a genuine concern, you could have extended the reserve period or refunded all of my customers directly. But instead, after making me wait four months, you decided to permanently retain the entire balance based on a vague "potential risk." You have provided no evidence, no customer claims, no financial losses, and no clear explanation that would justify confiscating my funds.
I have repeatedly attempted to resolve this matter through email, but my messages continue to be ignored. I remain willing to settle this issue amicably and professionally. However if no reasonable resolution is provided, I will have no alternative but to escalate the matter by submitting formal complaints to the appropriate consumer protection and fraud authorities in the United States and India, contacting my embassy, and publicly sharing my experience with relevant business communities and merchant networks.
I sincerely hope you will reconsider your position and return the funds that rightfully belong to me.
Thanks

Hi Houssam,
We have reviewed your concerns and are providing you with our final position. Our compliance review found clear evidence that you were offering IPTV-related services. IPTV is a prohibited business category under our Merchant Acceptance Policy, and this activity was not disclosed during your application.
The 120-day reserve period is intended to cover potential chargebacks, disputes, and refunds. The end of this period does not mean that funds must be released from an account terminated for a policy violation. Reserve periods and account termination are separate matters governed by our Terms of Service, which you agreed to when you onboarded with us. Because your account violated our policies, we terminated it.
We have reviewed your case multiple times and reached the same conclusion each time. The decision is final. We will not reopen the account, reconsider the decision, or release the funds outside the terms that apply to your terminated account.
We understand that you may disagree with this outcome, but there is no further action we can take on this matter. Our decision is based on our policies, our review of your account, and the contractual terms you accepted.
