Terrible pricing
Response from DkoldiesJan 7, 2023
Thanks for the review! Our prices go up and down with the market and are based on how much we sell, how much we have in stock and how easy it is to replenish our stock. We try to keep our prices low because we sell more products that way! We also provide services that people want that you don't get from other places. People want clean and tested games so we do that, and we specialize in authentic original retro products.

Terribly expensive and *possibly* misleading. Their prices are wayyy out there and you'd might as well buy from somewhere else. They seem like nice and genuine people, and their services are very good (which is why I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1), but, even for a business, their prices are way too high. Also, their "mark-offs" are definitely misleading. Their prices seem to be always "on sale". Which, if that's the case, doesn't that make that "sale price" the actually official price? Seems like they are trying to fake their sale prices and make it look like you are saving a few bucks by buying from them. Now, once again, that is all speculation, but there is definitely something up with their pricing.

Thanks for your review! I understand your frustration with this. We are constantly adjusting our prices to reflect market values, and they are set according to what we have in stock, how easy it is to restock, and the services we provide as a company that you don't get through places like eBay and Facebook Marketplace. The original prices are what is based off of the market prices, and the discounted pricing on many of our products is based off of what we are able to sell them at according to the above. We want our prices to be as low as possible, because we sell more that way!

Overpriced and not worth your time. Please support someone else.
Response from DkoldiesDec 29, 2022
Hi, Sarah! The reason for our pricing is that we aim to keep a consistent stock of items and avoid selling out. In order to do this, we need to make predictions about what we will sell in the future and prepare accordingly. If we end up selling more than we predicted, the prices may go up due to the need to quickly restock by purchasing from other sources at a higher cost. On the other hand, if we sell less than we predicted, the prices may go down because we have excess inventory and can restock at a lower cost. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out at [email protected] and I will be glad to assist you! - Thanks, DKs

There's no other way to put this, other than that this place is absolutely horrible. There's no way you guys can justify selling a ps2 for $270, when you are paying customers $20 for theirs. That's over 10x the profit, so there is no way you rise and lower prices based on inventory when you are paying people that much and then you took the prices for trade-in's off your website cause you got called out, this company needs some serious rework cause this is ridiculous. Also why is everything on here answered with the same,

Hi Avery, Our prices are according to the services we provide. We test everything we receive to make sure it's in working condition and that it is 100% authentic. If repairs to the items are needed we also do that. We clean all the products before shipping them out to you so they look brand new! We also take into consideration the current market on products. Finally we offer a 120 day warranty on all of our products and have a great support staff on standby to answer any questions or issues you have with one of our products. - Thanks, DK

WAY overpriced, terrible customer service, items in rough shape... AVOID at all cost. There are WAY better alternatives online to purchase retro video games.

I understand your frustration. Our prices come from the fact that we are always trying not to sell out and keep things in stock. To do that we need to predict what we will sell in the future and prepare to have that stock in place. When we predict wrong and sell way more than predicted our prices will go up because we could run out of stock and we have to buy back quickly and to do that we need to pay more. When we predict wrong and sell way less than predicted our prices will go lower because we have too much stuff and can pay less to restock. Our services are just that. We try to have services that people want. Our prices are also according to the services we provide.

This is an absolute horrible and dishonest place to do business as far as I am concerned. I wish I could give less than 1 star!! I sent in a PSP game system to sell to them. It was in perfect working order. They said it was a Japanese version and would not pay me for it. I told them fine and to just let me know the procedure to have the item returned and that I would pay the postage. I have sent 4 emails requesting how to get my property back and they refuse to give me an answer. This has been ongoing for over a week. I asked for a way to contact the owner and they will not answer. I don't know what else to do at this point but to warn others to just beware that if you send something in to them it is subject to being confiscated without payment!

Heard of DkOldies scrolling through Instagram, glad I find it. I ordered 10 PS2 games for a great price and all look as work excellent. Fast shipping and it was free. I recommend DK Oldies for retro gaming.
