If I could give this no star raiting I would. I called 3 months before my contract ended to cancel their services b/c I didn’t use it often and the signal was bad, but they told me that I couldn’t cancel the contract b/c I still had 3 months left. They said that they would change the equipment such as the cable box, etc. to see if the signal would improve, with out compromises of renewing the contract. They replaced the equipment, then I called 3 months later to cancel the contract. Then they said that I couldn’t cancel the contract b/c they changed the equipment and that I had to continue paying for 2 years again, even though they said that they wouldn’t renew for upgraded equipment. They said I could cancel my contract but I had to pay around $500 dollars so they would cancel it. Don’t trust this company, they want to keep you paying for a service that doesn’t work at all.

I hope Dish goes bankrupt
The absolute WORST customer service I’ve ever dealt with, and that’s only if you have the patience to wait the 45 plus minutes working your way through their phone maze. After dealing with the loss of the regional Fox Sports network for over six months, the loss of my local Fox station and NFL football, and probably the Super Bowl, was just too much. So after being on hold for 45 minutes I told the customer service rep I wanted to cancel, and why. I was transferred to a loyalty specialist. I thought “here come the discounts.” Nope, I was told “we can cancel you on the 26th and you’ll owe us $80 for an early termination fee.” Now unless I signed a 13 year contract in 2008 and don’t remember, they’ve got a ton of nerve asking me for an early termination fee. Needless to say I’ll be setting up an appointment with DirecTV first thing in the morning. They’re also the devil, but at least I’ll be able to watch MLB, NBA, and NFL.

I hate i have to even give these jerks…
I hate i have to even give these jerks a 1 star, dish seriously doesnt deserve any stars. They lie to you about billing constantly and send you through series of numbers and departments only to find yourself in a endless circle. They are loosing nearly 200 thousand customers each month once peoples contracts are up no one stays. Also if your a serious sports fan dish executive office doesnt give one rip that they remove your programming and they dont have the guts to come forward and explain why they refuse to offer a deal to reinstate regional sports packages. Bottom line dish network are snakes and liars cant wait til they are no longer a company. Shame on you dish

Not worth it.
I would not recommend Dish Network. When it rains you lose signal, On Demand doesn't work properly, programming is too expensive, there is always a very long wait for customer service if you have an issue and they are so rude. I recently did an online chat with Gregorio and he had no clue so I called and spoke with Hillary who would not let me complete my sentence and talked over me, so rude but at least she was able to resolve my issue.

My elderly father has been trying for…
My elderly father has been trying for months to cancel his service. He has called multiple times, but Dish continues to bill him every month. It never seems to end. I just received another bill for $112.07, even though my father hasn't had Dish since last spring. It's especially dishonest when a company rips off an old person on a fixed income!

Dish and their customer service
We just moved and decided to keep dish after thinking long and hard about it. Over the more than a decade we have been dish customers we have had a love hate relationship with dish. As long as all is well with your service I love the DVR service. Being able to watch or record then fast forward through programs without having to watch commercials has kept me sticking with it. But any time you have to deal with customer service it's a nightmare. They have lied to us, renewing our contract for a change we told them specifically, we only wanted to make if they could make the change without having to renew the contract. They assured us it wouldn't change then it did. After all these years with them, it will still cost us $150.00 to cancel our service. We've learned not to even bother to ask them anymore because they are going to renew the contract no matter what they tell you they are going to do and there's no way to prove what they said so there's no recourse anyway. They took up our balcony with cinder blocks and a dish when we moved to a small apartment recently and wouldn't let us out of the new contract because they were "able to make it work." This move they connected our tv but disconnected the landlord's Comcast tv and wireless. We called an hour after the technician left and spent hours on the phone with them. They hung up on us once, and we weren't even heated at that point. When we called them back, they assured us they didn't hang up on us, we must have just gotten disconnected "somehow" so I asked if they could take my number and call us back if we got disconnected again "somehow" and they said no they couldn't do that. All we were asking for was for the technician to come back and undo whatever he did to disconnect the other tenants. They said, after hours on the phone with them, that they couldn't send him back today, the tenants would have to wait until tomorrow to get their WiFi and tv back. Also, we needed to call Comcast because even though he had disconnected their Comcast, he would not be able to reconnect the Comcast because "he cannot work on other company's cables." They never got the irony of being able to disconnect but unable to reconnect another company's cables. Is it just me? They also stated that all of this "was not a poor customer service issue," I needed too understand , he said, "that people make mistakes." I told him I was fine with the mistake, the problem was that Dish has no timely mechanism for resolving their mistakes. I was told they could not have the technician return today, or call me and tell me what he did so we could rectify the situation for the others living here ourselves. I said I thought it was poor business to leave other potential customers with this kind of poor impression of Dish's apparent lack of concern for their situation. He told me no other company was any better and he didn't care if other's knew of the way this was handled. So, here I am letting other people know. You can make up your own minds whether this situation speaks well or poorly of Dish's customer service.
