OUR CRUISE
OUR CRUISE We were totally pleased with the communication, planning, logistics, food, ship, cruise and people. What more can we say?

Offering high quality 3 - 6 day cruises with a maximum of 12 guests on the historic Discovery in beautiful Prince William Sound, Alaska (just south of the largest Alaskan city, Anchorage). We do offer a handful of trips that incorporate Denali National Park as well. Prince William Sound encompasses 3,800 miles of coastline to explore via kayak and foot. The Sound is home to the densest concentration of tidewater glaciers in the world, containing 50 glaciers and 17 tidewater glaciers (touching the ocean), known for dramatically calving huge ice chunks into the sea. Enjoy spectacular views from sea level up to 13,000 ft mountain peaks. More than 220 species of birds (and around 200,000 seabirds summer in the Sound), along with 30 species of land mammals, and at least a dozen marine mammal species make this area quite special. Resident marine mammals include humpback, sei, fin, minke, killer whales, and dall's porpoise as well as Steller sea lions, harbor seals, and sea otters. In western Prince William Sound, black bears may be seen on narrow beaches and are most often seen fishing when the salmon are spawning.

We were unsure about what to expect but could not have had a better time. The crew did a wonderful job of balancing activities and relaxation. The food was excellent. We saw lots of wildlife. They even accommodated my desire to see puffins. We have fond memories of this trip.

This was only my second cruise ever but by far my favorite. All the staff were so knowledgeable and personable. They knew everyone by name and personality (whether we liked to be kidded or not for one). The accommodations were a bit rustic by large ship standards but they were perfect for this cruise. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun.

Service was great along with the food. Saw just about every animal and bird in the area. Glaciers were impressive. Most important was the opportunity to get off the boat and go see things.

A very memorable experience with a combination of the most spectacular scenery, magical wildlife and birds, daily exercise including kayaking and hiking, delicious and plentiful food. We had two extremely knowledgeable guides and the skipper/owner has years of experience in Prince William Sound.

Great crew and voyage, very scenic. Enjoyed watching glaciers calf, hiking and kayaking. Getting to see whales up close for the first time. Quite an adventure.

If you want a personalized tour of Prince William Sound with the people that live it and love it choose Discovery voyages. I love the authentic cabins and the home cooked meals. Sitting on the front of the boat watching for otters or seals became a regular pastime plus we were visited by some spectacular whales in their natural habitat. We got to kayak and hike right from our boat and the scenery was one i will never forget. Don’t hesitate to book a trip. You will enjoy every minute.

The food was excellent , the off boat kayaking And hiking were serene private and beautiful.Seeing all the wild birds, eagles, otters, killer whales, walrus, seals and the icebergs crashing down into the water ( calving) was truely like being in a National Geographic movie. The most memorable trip of my life!!!!
