THIS IS A SCAM OR A SET-UP A supposedly impartial search/comparison site called "insurify" takes your information then DIRECT AUTO wins the bid with $52/mo for a one year policy. In reality the "quote ID number" is fake and when you click on the purchase button you are sent to a rep who makes you go through the whole info process all over again, cchanging the quote to $67 a month. Why would I work with a company that lies upfront just to get a final quote little different from the majority of quotes. I even talked with an local agent and she couldn't pull up the quote because it was a phony setup, Moreover the one year policy has small print that allows them to charge a penalty fee if you change to another carriere in that time period. THIS IS OWNED BY ALL STATE, people, Do you want an insurance company that lies to you and hangs you up for an hour of wasted info? Think what a real claim would be like.

The absolute worst company I have ever dealt with! Delay tactics, won't answer questions, lost my car, said I agreed to a settlement I did not agree to. It has been a month and a half and I still have no car!

Had a buddy that wrecked his car while on their plan. They did not honor his policy, they canceled his policy 10 days after paying $500 to cover for the month of September. They practically robbed him. Do not trust direct auto, it's a third party auto insurance company that is not to be used.

I had a very disappointing experience with Direct Auto Insurance. Initially, they provided me with a reasonable quote, but within two weeks of making the payment, my premium was doubled without any notice or explanation. This sudden increase in costs was both shocking and frustrating. Despite hoping things would improve, I canceled my policy after three months of staying with them due to the unfair premium hike. To make matters worse, they billed me for early cancellation, adding insult to injury. This was by far the worst insurance experience I’ve ever had. The lack of transparency, unjustified price increases, and hidden fees made it a terrible choice. I would not recommend Direct Auto Insurance to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy coverage.

If I could give -0 stars I would. Due to stupid carvana I had to cancel this Policy. I canceled the Policy Aug 21 and was told they won't give me my money back 10 days from the Aug 21. They said because I used a debit card they can't refund my card they have to send a check. So they final sent a check on Sept 6 that's some how got lost in the mail. Now there telling me I have to wait to October 7th for them to reissue me a check. There trying to keep my money and at this point I'm getting a attorney this is crazy.

Switched to Direct Auto after letting my prior insurance elapse, initial down payment was $75 and monthly amount was $133. Paid actually $144 on September 1st. But only 26 days into August I’m getting notified that there were changed to my policy and my new amount went up to $284/mo after September 1st payment. Confused I called and asked why, so because I’m on a “6 month plan” that the monthly amount changes to adjust to my plan premium, I then asked her did my plan change and she said no. She stated this was the amount was originally on the quote and I explained to her no, it was not because I would’ve never picked this if I knew that. I’m very dissatisfied with the illusion of what you’re actually paying. I’ve never had any violations, tickets, and or accidents. $284/mo for state minimum outrageous. This is supposed to be a sister company of my prior insurance company, these prices are nowhere near the same.

Worst roadside service ever. Called. Them at 2:30 the customer service rep didn’t speak English so it took over 30 mins for her to confirm my location and information. I didn’t receive a text saying they secured a tow truck until 4:20 & the eta was over 90mins because these people got a company in Tuscaloosa Al which is over hr away from where I am which is Headland Al. I don’t know why they don’t hire local companies for their customers? There are several in and around this area that are not 90mins away. I’ve been siting in my car for over 2hrs on a back road and it’s starting to get dark. I’m starting to hate this company & it’s time to start looking at other carriers.

I deeply regret choosing Direct Auto as my auto insurance carrier. This company has been nothing but a nightmare to deal with. They are incredibly unreliable, constantly going back and forth without providing any real solutions. Their customer service is abysmal—nobody ever answers the phone, and it leaves me wondering how they even manage to stay in business. Tina, who claims to be a supervisor, is unhelpful and lazy, offering no real assistance. I would also like to formally complain about two representatives, Stephanie and Michelle. Stephanie rudely kept cutting me off while I was asking questions, making an already frustrating situation worse. As for Michelle, she claimed she wanted to help, but instead, she argued with me and acted like it was all a joke, treating the situation as if it were a laughing matter. This company is a complete disaster, and I strongly advise anyone considering Direct Auto to avoid them at all costs. They clearly don't care about their customers or their issues.
