They don’t deserve not even one star. I did the policy on 11 cancelled on the 12 ( less than 24 hours) because I couldn’t log in the app due to their mistake with my dob and name they charge me right away $185 and the refund supposed to be $135 mind you I had another insurance with progressive. Anyhow they’ll refund me in full (after 3 hours of calling and sending emails) but only via a check which it can take up to 3 weeks and in the mean time on their website it says that the refund could be as the same way I was charged. Bunch of liers and I’m glad I cancelled the policy, I don’t want to imagine if I really need them.

Direct Auto are scammers!! I filed a policy online and paid. I know the policy needed adjustments and I received a call from an agent. We discussed coverage and my household members not using or even riding in my vehicle. The representative said they would be excluded on my policy and I paid another payment for the adjustments. I get in an accident with a friend driving NOT one of my household members and they are claiming my policy never listed my household members and that is a coverage issue. Simply put they want to find any way to not pay my total loss because it is more than my policy amount. Do yourself a favor pay that extra money with another insurance company with integrity.

Absolutely terrible service. They negligently did not provide documents that they claimed needed signatures, did not provide accurate documents for signature, then later claimed they had not received documents that were sent, and then were not responsive to requests that they correct their mistakes. They are incompetent and rude. They tried to charge us an additional $3,000 for their mistakes. They left us with just a couple of days to find new insurance which could have been disastrous. I wasted many hours trying to get them to correct their mistakes. Do not trust them. Go to Geico which is much better. I would give them a negative number for the review, but 1 is the lowest available. You will regret using Direct Auto sooner or later. We had coverage for years without any claims, and they still mistreated us. Poor way to treat your good customers.

Direct Auto Insurance are perceived as dishonest by some customers. I have been with them for over a year and recently received a better offer from another insurer. I had just entered a renewed policy with them, making an initial payment of $155. On the same day, I received a more competitive quote from my group auto insurance at work and attempted to cancel with Direct Auto. To my surprise, I was only eligible for a $6 refund for the one week I was covered. They do not disclose the amount of their cancellation fee or what they refer to as "short rate provisions contained in our manuals" upfront, nor when you decide to cancel. I feel as if I lost $149. I have resolved to never purchase any insurance from them again and intend to persuade others to steer clear of this company. They engage in practices that could be considered unscrupulous and should be held accountable.

This company charges a fee to cancel because their fees are too high so I got a cheaper rate somewhere else.. now they want to charge me $50 for canceling... Have these insurance companies get by with charging outrageous rates and then taking advantage of people when they're already down on their luck by charging them more money!! Terrible company!

Complete fraud! Sales reps tell you one thing, customer service incompetent and outright lies. National General/Auto Direct does not respond to my issues, sales rep stated she agreed with me and escalated my complaints, but I never heard back. I paid $1000 for 1 month of Liability only insurance. Premium increased without explanation after 1 month. I was told I would be getting minimal payment back. Canceled immediately! Stay away - My attorney may be involved if I don't hear back from them for an explnation. Documentation provided.

They gave me a quote of 36 a month which jumped to 180 a month when i went to purchase it. Those arent typos btw. Im retired so I hardly even drive my 01 kia which is worth 1k. Meaning i would pay the value of my car every 6 months through direct auto insurance. I went with the general which was close to the 36 quote

The lady I spoke with was Very rude and argumentative. I’m glad that there was a mistake on my MVR which saved me from doing business with this company.
