Direct Auto is one of the worst insurance providers I’ve ever worked with. They do not offer any assistance there is no urgency you will be left either no solution. If I can make sure no one ever has my experience I will. Paid for insurance for over a year with this shitty company and took them over a month for a claim I filed that they actually didn’t solve. Never ever get direct auto pay for better insurance it will ease your worries in the future.

I changed my policy and was STILL billed for 140.00 plus 35 dollars AFTER I asked for NO AUTOPAY, guess what they’re still doing auto pay, I locked my card I’m not gonna play with direct auto, I will pay and then I’m finding another insurance, they are a damn scam and I’m not happy at all, I’m firing them as SOON as I find alternative insurance

I had this insurance I could never get a hold of my agent Gordon. Either got his voice mail or he would email me over a week after. My vehicle was stolen and was not covered. So now I have a totaled car and payments I have to make on some thing I no longer have. Brandi the claims adjuster had the same experience she was never available to actually speak to. Everything was done via text or email.

I purchased an auto policy (FL) from Direct Auto on 12/03/2025 and cancelled it a few days later at my request. I paid 170 USD and only received a 94 USD refund. The company did not provide a clear written breakdown of how they calculated this amount. I tried to contact customer service multiple times to get an explanation and to file a complaint, but I was not able to reach anyone who could help me or provide a detailed statement. The communication and customer service have been extremely poor and frustrating. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Direct Auto Insurance. Customers deserve transparency about fees, refunds, and a way to resolve issues when something is wrong.

MR ERIC FOTUS was horrible with communicating with me through out my process. My car was wrecked. No communication what so ever. One day I logged onto my account only to that they sent a check to CAPITAL ONE without my knowledge or signature. He stated they didn’t need my signature or consent for anything regarding the process. He even laughed at me when I asked him to explain the total out process to me.

It was a horrible experience this past time around. I had been a loyal customer for five years, even on policies where I was not the owner of the contract. I had decided to drop off a policy owned by a family member when I received a quote for $505/month, which was great, considering my history, and my share of the previous premium had been much higher. When applying for this quote, I had selected that I was an existing customer. Two weeks later, I received an email stating that I did not qualify for the new customer discount and that my new rate was $587. I contacted absolutely awful customer service. They gave me wrong information as to what caused my increase, even claiming it was due to my bodily injury coverage, but they would not explain further. After contacting a different rep, I was given the real answer regarding the new customer discount. I stated that I was an existing customer and never claimed to be a new customer; that I was quoted wrong and deserved the rate that my quote initially said that I consented to. They told me there was nothing they could do for me. When I had additional questions, I was referred to the sales team, where I was yelled at by staff when I was trying to explain my situation and that I had been transferred to this department by customer service. I then decided I would find a new policy elsewhere. Found a deal that is over $100 less! I am now much happier with my insurance which I have switched and know I will be paying a much better rate and able to save money in this messed-up economy! So close to the holidays as well.

Terrible experience STAY AWAY. Started with a pretty good price then randomly bumped my price up double what i was paying because they added other people from my house hold then when i wanted to cancel they are asking for 401$ to cancel.

Simply a dreadful company. Sure they do offer a little lower price for people without a great driving record. Their website totally sucks and I paid every month prior to the due date, renewed the insurance paying early and they reported the car as uninsured to the state and the state revoked the registration even though my policy never came close to lapsing.
