The agent by the name of Shawn was who I spoke to, ran his mouth 200mph like a salesman. But couldn't answer any pertinent questions related to the industry. Once I realized it's owned by Allstate, then that says it all. Avoid allstate and all its subsidiaries. This is a company that has a reputation that precedes itself by not paying out any claims that their insured are at fault.

Can you give a review with negative stars? This is the most unethical company I have ever seen. My payment increased over $100 in less than 45 days on 3 separate occasions. Each one for different reasons. 1-needed proof of continuous coverage (provided 30 days prior upon start of policy) 2-computer system change 3-change of automatic draft cancel (automatic draft was never initiated or cancelled). Local agency number not in service unless she called me. Email responses stopped. I called the 8774634732 and the agent said she was checking my policy and after 30 minutes on hold I have a man asking why I was calling and after I stated the lady put me on hold-he LAUGHED- and said she transferred me and he would transfer me back and LAUGHED AGAIN. When he transferred me back I received a message stating they were closed for the day even though it was prior to a new hour starting. Someone needs to investigate this place.

Absolutely terrible customer service I called 5 times about same issue and all the excuses were different. You get told one thing then something different. Its funny when they want their money they take is faster than you can say ok but when u cancel and get a refund they delay long as possible. I been waiting for a refund for much longer than they said. Do not use this insurance company they rip you off, lie to you.

I am currently with direct auto insurance and I am currently seeking another insurance company. The people they transfer you to for roadside assistance is scam artist they took my information and my money. i dont understand why roadside assistance need my vin number again they told me that i would be refunded in 24 hours i don't see that happening because these people type up everything and make things look legit while taking your money my car is down and i couldn't even get road side assistance but i will have to come off another 110 something again to get my car toad to the shop if you cant trust your insurance company to handle your business u cant trust shit no more. they couldn't provide no dispatch number he gave me a name like AJ and he sound like a foreign(no shade) guy, I am upset but god got me and i will be sure to not give up information while being frustrated. Some on the inside is scamming ppl out of money and the receipt they gave me is from some halon digital company that don't even have a phone number

This company forced me to pay insurance on one of my children who no longer lives with me. They wanted me to PROVE she does not live here. I was not able to speak to an agent but had to speak to whomever answered the line. I was overcharged and underinsured. When I finally cancelled my policy. I was once again ripped off and ended up paying for the full month even though I cancelled only 2 days after the coverage. I will NEVER do business with this company again.

They hit you with junk fees going in and when you change to a lower priced insures. USAA price was half the price of Direct.

Like others have said, this is the absolute worst insurance company, if it’s even an insurance company. I called in for a quote, was kept on with an agent that gave me a decent price for a policy with two young drivers. The agent had issues with finalizing the process, realized they didn’t have his Illinois license active in their system. He kept me on for 30 more minutes, couldn’t help and had to transfer me to another agent. New agent comes on, has to go through the entire process again and comes up with a price much higher, she has no clue why and claims it’s because the vin number was entered incorrectly. Total BS. I’m going to cancel before the bill cycle is over. They’ve never said anything about a cancellation charge or fee. I’m ready for the fight. They are extremely expensive and I’ve read nothing but terrible reviews from so many different sources.

This is the FN worse auto insurance company ever! Don’t walk away from them! Run! They lie and charge for everyone that lives in the house even if they are not driving your car and have their own car and insurance. I was told I could cancel my policy at anytime, then when I cancelled it, they sent a letter saying that I owe almost a $500 for a cancellation fee for the state of NC. Having had about 5 different auto insurance carriers for over 36 years of driving, I have never known any other auto insurance company to do this!
