They will only pay based on inferior products. They will not pay for OEM parts. Their labor pricing is not accurate based on what true mechanics calculate. Not only do you pay the $100 deductable, but usually a large portion of the bill. They like to find anyway to get out of having to cover your issues.
Response from Diamond Warranty Corp.Sep 21, 2018
Steven, We appreciate your feedback and apologize about your recent experience with us. The claims process with an extended warranty is very similar to that of any car insurance provider. The customer needs a repair, a claim is called in, and the warranty or insurance company calculates an estimate towards the repair. To calculate labor times, we use All Data Pro which is a manufacturer repair guide used by repair shops, insurance companies and warranty companies. All Data displays every vehicle manufacturer's recommended amount of time it should take to complete a repair: diagnosis the problem, removing the failed part, and installing the replacement part. As far as OEM parts are concerned - most vehicle manufacturers no longer produce the majority of parts on a vehicle. Nowadays, auto manufacturers outsource parts from over 7,500 vendors and merely assemble a vehicle. The same parts we use are often times the same supplier that provided the original part for the vehicle manufacturer. Again, we are very similar to insurance. If your insurance company estimates funding $900 in repairs to get the job done, but depending on repair shops some shops can say it will cost $700 and others could say it cost $1200 causing out of pocket expenses. If you'd like, please send us an email to [email protected] and we can review your claim for you to ensure you are satisfied with your repair.
