binding, non-refundable service, but they won't tell you that
Note: i have been an user of DI.fm for more than 6 years. Music offer is great, but one would be mistaken to think that Mikey from the used-car dealership runs the billing department. Here is why: DI.fm premium is a binding, non-refundable service, but they won't tell you that upfront. Neither when signing up for premium, nor in the receipt. They have no refund policy, so if you pay for 2 years, you are stuck with it for the whole period. In the receipt, DI.fm misleads you by claiming that you can manage your subscription anytime. They will not tell you that any billing changes will be effective from the next billing period onwards. So basically you can't change anything, really. But you can manage it, whatever that means. Most subscriptions everywhere, including all reputable streaming services (netflix, amazon, itunes, etc), do have a refund policy, where you usually have a notice period of running month + 1 month or something like this. Understandable, since this is a non-perishable service (ie whether you are subscribed or not does not affect the offer nor value of the service, like, say, streaming a live event) Note that the complaint is about not telling users in advance that this is a binding, non-refundable service. Worse, misleading their users by saying that they can "manage" the subscription, which they can't --not until next bill. That's how Mikey from the used-car dealership would do. With a smirk.

Hi there, First of all, we want to thank you for supporting us for so long for your feedback. We will be more than happy to provide any assistance we can. While your concerns about our binding contract are somewhat valid, we would have definitely done a pro-rated refund if you contacted our support team for it in the first 3 months after the purchase was made. Unfortunately, after the 3 months period has passed, the card processor does not allow us to undo these charges so we are unable to offer you a pro-rated refund at the moment. Furthermore, all our billing terms are final and stated as such upfront, and on top of that, the prices have already been discounted in favor of longer terms. Our customers are able to choose monthly terms instead, from the start, in order to be able to cancel and leave in any time and not commit to the service over a longer period. Keep in mind that refund policies of most of the companies you mentioned should be pretty similar to ours, these services work on auto-renewal as well, and are usually based on a monthly, annual and biannual commitment. Please let me know if there's anything else we can help you with! Regards
