The room was very clean and updated. The house was old and historic which I love but the room was not small it was tiny. The queen size bed was surrounded by three walls so I had to crawl over my husband to get out of bed. There was no closet just a coat rack. The bathroom sink was one foot by one foot and the room was so small the bathroom door was a barn door that the tracks went over the bed so if the door was open you had to watch out getting out of bed. We got there at nine at night and left around eight in the morning we preferred to lug our luggage and stuff around Galveston than to stay longer.

After eventually getting in the front door everything was clean and for the most part updated. The outside was dated and needs attention. Grounds were uneven, I can see someone injuring themselves. We stayed in room #3 and it was an extremely small room, should be just for one person if that. There were no pictures of this room on their Booking.com site and I can see why. It was humid and warm (not hot) in our room. After attempting, unsuccessfully, to turn on the air conditioner I text the number they provided and received an immediate response. Unfortunately they said they had turned off the air conditioning and we needed to utilize the ceiling fan, sleeping was uncomfortable and taking showers made it worse. Bed were comfortable.

Room was very small. 3 feet on one side of bed. No room for yourself or suitcases. no dresser in room or counter in bathroom.

The fan on the heater/ aircondtioner barely blew air out. All the housekeeping staff did was take the dirty towels and replaced them.with ne ones. They did not make the beds or clean the bathroom. There was a good stock and variety of coffee and teas but when one particular brand was used it was not replaced. The location and prize was great

The low rating is because of the size. The pictures of the room are very deceptive. We did enjoy the location and the room was very clean. The size of the shower was a joke and no closets space. Not a lot of room for luggage or your belongings.

There is only street parking, the curb was horrible, hard getting our suitcases up. Code was easy to use to get in front door and room. The room we were assigned #2 was tiny! I think our RV is bigger, too small for 2 grown adults with luggage, the pillows were old and flat there is no night stand to put my hubby CPAP machine on we did not see the iron? we checked out 4 hours after we checked in and went to a hotel as we were disappointed as pictures made it look lovely

The room was fine for a nights stay. However, like I saw on a previous review, and was hoping the issue had been remedied before we went. The AC was barely cooling, so thank God for the ceiling fan. I wish they offered at an iron & ironing board. The rest was fine for our one night stay. It was convenient to the Strand and cruise terminal.

This small property was very well kept and updated especially for its age. Keeping to a European type hotel was good advise since I was not expecting lots of "frills", in which there were none. 1. The sheets/blankets seemed very nice and clean until I found numerous pubic hairs. I am sure (and hoped) they were from the washer or dryer during cleaning, since everything looked and smelled clean, but still disturbing. 2. The air conditioner above the bathroom was leaking water excessively. The floor outside of the bathroom and inside was especially pooling water. Housekeeping should have noticed this previously and advised management. It was there when I checked in so not a "new" problem but I had to step over, or in, water consistently. 3. Nice to have Netflix and other stations like that but I get those on my cable at home. Would have liked some local channels for news/weather etc.also. 4. I am a career property management professional, not a "picky" consumer. If this was one of my properties that I inspected, the manager would have to do some "splainin" to do (to quote Ricky Ricardo). Have stayed in many hotels in Galveston over the years and this was not the worse. Fixing the above issues would have earned 1 or 2 more stars.
