This company really does steal your money!
Just as Cassandra said in previous review, this company steals your money. She and I both went on the same trip/same wedding. I have NOT gotten my money back. How is it acceptable that it has been 6 months of promising a refund for just several hundred dollars. While they are so busy, they don't seem to have a problem taking our money in less than 24 hours....

Hi Ashley, we appreciate you voicing your concerns and apologize on behalf of our suppliers for the delay in their refund process. Your inquiry continues to be escalated and we are committed to advocating on your behalf with follow-up emails and phone calls until it is confirmed that your funds have been released. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated during these trying times.

Company steals your money
Carol, our “specialist”, is very unprofessional and cannot string together a full sentence without grammatical errors. She is constantly on weeklong vacations, while guests continue to wait for their refunds. She doesn’t care about the guests’ experience. We are in the middle of a pandemic and a refund of several hundred dollars is not something to put on hold. We are at 6 months now and still no refund. The company is shady as heck. Meanwhile it took less than 24 hrs to withdraw our money from our account last January.

Hi Cassandra, we regret to hear of your frustrations and are committed to addressing these concerns with your Specialist. We do see a representative from our Customer Relations Department has been in communication with you about the status of your refund. Please do not hesitate to follow up with them with any further questions you may have. We appreciate your patience and grace as we continue to work feverishly through this pandemic to ensure all customers are as satisfied as possible.

Future bride and grooms BEWARE
Future bride and grooms BEWARE! We had a mountain of issues with our coordinator the last two months before our wedding - I'm only sharing the major points, otherwise this would be extra lengthy. We worked with Tiffany Dana (TJ), which was one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever received. It was impossible to get a hold of her with any questions we had or help we needed. We sent multiple emails, text messages and phone calls, to not only Tiffany, but also the customer service contact on their website and we did not receive many responses.
Two weeks before our wedding, we still hadn't received our itineraries. Multiple guests reached out to Tiffany, and the only ones to receive their itineraries were the ones that did reach out. And with that, every guest received a different story as to why the itineraries weren't sent out yet. We had to reach out for multiple documents like this to make sure that everything was taken care of properly, so that when we did arrive in Mexico we wouldn't have any issues. We are all about taking care of our guests, but these are things that should have been handled through our travel agent, not me and my fiance who have never planed a wedding before.
In addition to this, we asked Tiffany if everything was secured for our reception- we were planning to go off the resort to Isle Mujeres on a catamaran. From our understanding everything was good to go. But, when we reached out to her two weeks prior to our wedding to get the name of the beach club and the address of the marina we were leaving from, she told me that she didn't help coordinate anything through third parties. She originally gave me the name and phone number to contact the person about the catamaran- so why wouldn't she have the address and name of the companies as well? And, our friend's worked with Tiffany for their wedding three years ago, which was completely through a third party- not at the resort at all- we explained to her in the very beginning of our planning that we were looking to do something similar to their wedding. That makes this absolutely puzzling to me. We ended up reaching out to the person with the catamaran company and he told us that it "could be a possibility to book this boat." I'm not sure where the disconnect was with Tiffany, but she made us think that everything was secured, whereas the person with the catamaran was on a completely different page. At one point Tiffany told us it was her day off so she wouldn't help us. This turned into another issue we ended up figuring out on our own, only a couple weeks before our wedding, without the help of Tiffany.
Our wedding ended up getting canceled due to Hurricane Delta, a category 4 hurricane, that hit on the day of our wedding at 530AM, in the same area that we were supposed to have our wedding. Our flights ended up getting canceled the day of travel. The resort that we had a reservation through ended up evacuating all guests to an abandoned school in Cancun, where guests weren't allowed to bring all of their belongings and slept on cushions from the beach chairs. Tiffany and the Destination Wedding's customer service representative, Becca Casino, tried to tell us that this was not a viable reason to cancel our trip and receive a refund. Although we did confirm with the travel insurance company that we purchased the correct insurance and had done the correct things to cancel, Tiffany and Becca sent us emails stating that we were not eligible for the cancelation. When calling the insurance company again, they told u tat we had to work with our travel agent to finish the group cancelation, since we had a group of 20 people. We continued to try to get a hold of Tiffany, and the only thing she had in response to this was, "Can you tell me what the insurance company said I needed to do." Tiffany and Becca suggested we file an online claim since, according to them, we didn't file the cancelation correctly, but this would look like insurance fraud if we were to do this. My question is, why is this even a suggestion then? A month past our cancelation date, we still had no clue where in the process we were at with our claim due to the lack of responsiveness from this company. The only update we received was very generic, and this was received after we emailed not once, but twice. There was no communication whatsoever from Destination Weddings end to make sure we knew what to expect.
The lack of competency from Tiffany and Becca is horrendous. Since our wedding was canceled due to weather, we would have rescheduled with Destination Weddings at a later date if it weren't for our horrible experience with both Tiffany Dana and Becca Casino. You would think, at a time where there are a lack of destination weddings and travel in general due to a pandemic, that we would have received AAA+ service.

Hi Kayleigh, we appreciate you voicing your concerns and apologize your experience with Tiffany did not meet your expectations. It looks like there was a miscommunication regarding the proper cancelation process, but our supplier agreed to give an exception and refunded you in full on 11/20. We wish you the best and will be sure to address all of your concerns internally so we can continue to optimize our services for future couples and their guests.

No communication on refund
I was invited to take part in a wedding that was set to happen in Punta Cana, DR in August. The party ended up changing plans and moving their wedding home due to COVID-19. I requested that my room be canceled and a refund returned under the insurance that I paid extra for.
The request was made in July, we’re nearing the end of November and I still have nothing. I received an email letting me know that it would be 90 days or less until I got my refund and that notice would be given once they had an updated timeline. I hadn’t heard anything, so followed up in September to see if the specialist had heard anything. I was told an escalated request would be sent for more information on my refund.
I followed up again in October after passing 90 days and I still haven’t heard anything back. I’ve sent multiple emails and left voicemails for an update on my refund and still haven’t heard anything back.
I understand that the company is dealing with an increase in refund requests due to the pandemic, but this lack of communication is unacceptable. I have even stated this in my emails and said that any type of update on the timeline of when I’d get my refund would be greatly appreciated. It’s extremely frustrating that the company made a guarantee for a refund in 90 days or less, did not make meet that promise, and now has gone completely silent on communication since. There is over a $1000 on this refund that is just up in the air until I hear back.

HORRIBLE!
For the love of god DO NOT use this travel agency. They have been nothing but horrible since day 1. Pre-COVID, before our wedding was canceled, our agent was unresponsive to guests calls and concerns. Now that our wedding has been canceled, due to resort closure and our decision to not reschedule, Destination Weddings is refusing refunds for our guests without insurance. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE! Our guests paid for a service and due to unforeseen circumstances the resort and travel agency were unable to provide these services. The resort actually states online that they would refund those who were traveling during the shut down but Destination Weddings is refusing this because if a mysterious “third party” they use for bookings. Our guests deserve a refund. And if that hasn’t persuaded you to chose another agency, our guests with did have insurance still have not gotten their money back and it has been well over the “90 days” they recommended for refunds. The lack of professionalism is exhausting. Please please please opt for a different agency with morals who will actually care for you and your guests.

Hi Rachel, we regret to hear you've been unsatisfied with your experience thus far. We see that your Specialist has been in touch with you regarding the status of your group's refunds. Those with trip protection are able to be refunded minus the cost of the insurance plan, while those who declined protection are subject to loss of their room deposit. These terms were listed on the invoice when each guest made their booking and decided to accept or decline trip protection. To speak to someone in our Customer Relations Department and discuss the policy further, please email [email protected] and someone will follow up with you as soon as possible. Thank you!

Do not book with them!
Do not book with them!! My wedding was canceled due to Covid in May 2020 and it is September 2020 and MANY of my guests have no received refunds, even those who purchased travel insurance!! Some filed a claim with their banks and some did not, they blamed it on the banks who they filed a claim with. But the ones who did not file claims still have not received a refund. Worst company ever!
Response from DestinationWeddingsSep 28, 2020
Hi Jannie, we apologize for the delay and confusion in the cancellation/refund process. Upon review we do see a Supervisor from our Customer Relations Department has reached out about your group's pending refunds and will continue to update you on the status as soon as the applicable funds have been released. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding during this time.

Travel refund
We have worked with Kim In the past on BBC a wedding that was to take place in Oct, 2020. Due to COVID it was cancelled. We cancelled on April 28, 2020 and was told it would take up to 90 days. When we contact customer service no response. We understand that it may take longer however, it’s been 120 days with no response other than it will take up to 90 days. Further we have only been told that the travel insurance is through Destination Weddings. We need our refund to be processed and returned back to us as we have done everything we were told to do. I will never use Destination Weddings or recommend them.

We found out that others that were going on the trip with us canceled 30 days after we did and already received their refund. I am still not sure why we are still waiting on our refund? If the customer service department is not answering the phone or responding with something other than the scripted email how are we to follow up as your company response is the same and provide no answer.
Thank you,
Tanya Tarleton

Hi Tanya, we understand your concerns and apologize for the delay in the cancellation/refund process. Unfortunately due to the high volume of requests in addition to limited staffing with the wholesaler, Travel Impressions, and our resort partners, these processes have been delayed. Our Customer Relations Department will continue to advocate for you and assist with answering any questions you may have to the best of their ability. We can confirm the group's refunds have been escalated through our corporate escalation process and as soon as the funds have been released, a notification will be provided to the whole group. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Customer Relations Department with any additional questions you may have: [email protected]. Thank you!
Hi Tanya, thank you for reaching out again, we see you have been in contact with our Customer Relations Department who was able to provide confirmation that the supplier released your refund back to the cards on file today. We apologize again for the delayed process as we continue to advocate on behalf of all clients who have an outstanding request.

Refusing to Refund, even w trip insurance
Disgrace. Wish I could give 0 stars. I bought the travel insurance for my upcoming trip. Once COVID made it apparent that I would not be able to travel, I requested a refund. I was told it would take 90 days to process the refund. Despite this being a major hardship to now be out thousands of dollars, I decided to be patient and wait. I have followed up periodically to see when my refund would be issued, they continued to say I will receive it in 90 days. No surprise that 90 days have come and gone and I still have not received a cent. I have followed up 4 times and each time they tell me they do not know when I will have my money, but they are working on it. Terrible, unscrupulous company who is withholding people's hard earned money!

Thank you for reaching out regarding your concerns. Unfortunately, due to the global impact of COVID-19, our suppliers have received an exorbitant number of refund requests which have delayed their processing time of up to 90 days even further. We sincerely apologize on their behalf for the delay. We are happy to advocate on your behalf and escalate this issue with them, however we unfortunately do not have enough information from this review to locate you in our system. Please reach out to our Customer Relations team at [email protected] or 617-459-4070 so we can help get this resolved for you.
