My newly wedded husband and I have worked with Destify for our destination wedding at Majestic Elegance Resort in Cancun, Mexico on December 9, 2022 since June 2021. We found other destination wedding services to be either overwhelmed or underwhelmed with clients. We chose Destify because of their quick service, transparency, and the effort it took for them to find what we were looking for. They built our website, had helpful PDF checklists and information from the resort, real-time COVID updates about Mexico, managed our guests, and organized our excursion effectively. Even though they have done their best in helping us, we want to caution others about the prepaid shuttle, the request for extra beds, and not having a true destination wedding coordinator. We had 75-year-old and 16-year-old guests who never traveled before and missed their flight because the 75-year-old guest's husband had a death scare. We told them to move the prepaid airport shuttle to the next day and shared the new flight information but the onsite company, Nexus, did not find them on the list so they ended up taking a $110 USD taxi to our resort with another taxi service. Long story short the back and forth with Destify to get our money back from the prepaid shuttle was moot and obscure. To this day we do not believe that they confirmed the changes. Furthermore, we asked them to request an extra bed for the guests, and the resort claimed they have never received that request. Long story short, the 16-year-old guest ended up sleeping on the couch. If you are also planning a wedding, they do not have a true destination wedding coordinator. The only one we worked with was the onsite coordinator at the resort the language barrier was tough, and the resort didn't really put much attention to us until a month before our wedding day, Friday, December 9, 2022. That made planning very stressful. Overall, Destify made our destination wedding planning as easy as it could be, but like all online services, they have their limits. Side tip: Always get travel insurance because it was worth it!

They will not have proper room availability, best pricing, or ease of communication once you contract with them. Your guests will not be happy using them and you will not be happy because they will not return your calls or emails.

I wish I could write a 0 star review. My best friend is renewing her vows and I was all in even before I got the information. I paid my deposits the minute I received the link. Nevertheless, this was 8 months before the wedding. As life would have it, a series of things started happening and I had to, firstly, make a name change to the reservation because my boyfriend and I broke up- I contacted Destify and was informed that I had to pay another deposit for the name change (I added my son this time) So now here I am heartbroken and with $450 in the hole because I got a new job and cannot travel at the time of the wedding in December. Since I'm new I don't have seniority for the December holidays. Not sure why they charge all this money when we are the ones doing the actual booking and choosing. Complete rip off! The wedding is 3 months from now and now they get to keep all my money. Unacceptable!

Upon our arrival at the main lobby entrance of Sandos Playacar, you could tell this was going to be a vacation from hell, kids running, screaming, and climbing onto the check-in counter. From this point things just got worse, we waited in line for over 45 mins just to check in. no water, no drinks we were not greeted other than to be told where to stand in line, mind you there was only 2 people working the check in counter with only 3 of us waiting in line. You would think since we sent our flight info weeks ahead of time, they know who and when your checking in. once we reached the person who was to check us in she had the worst attitude (probably because of the family ahead of us with all the bad ass kids) she got us checked in then told us to go back to the main entrance and wait for a shuttle to take us to our room. We walked back to the main entrance and the 5-6 guys who worked there had several bags and no shuttles were available, so we waited another 45 mins for a guy to show up in a small 2 person shuttle to grab our bags and tell me and my wife to get in the front with him (I barley fit and was basically falling out) he said hang on best you can, (laughable at this point). He drives us to our room and gets our 1 bag out and walks us to our private room door; standing there waiting for a tip, I looked at him like seriously! We walk into this outdated (clean) room with amenities fit for the slums, cracked floors, grout lines that look like a 4-year-old did the tile work, these small black bugs in every sink, shower, and toilet. As soon as the water was turned on they flew all over the room and mirrors (speaking of the mirrors) they were in horrible shape, cleaned but cracked and had these weird black and grey stains all along the edges as if they were 100 years old. We decided to take a shower to wash the days travel away only to be met with more bugs and water pressure that was so weak and pathetic we barley felt clean (side note, the shower heads were disgusting, full of hard water stains and sludge) also mole was on almost everything. After that we immediately got dressed and headed out to explore hoping the introduction to this place was just an anomaly. We were not given a map of the place so we figured we would rely on the signs with the resort (zoo) as I came to call it, man was that a horrible idea; the signs tell you to walk one way only to learn that was the wrong direction. After walking for maybe 25-30 mins we ran into our friends who were hosting their wedding at this place, the bride (whom was crying at this point) was so glad to see a friendly face she broke down even more apologizing for how horrible this place is, we assured here it was okay and that we would do our best to make her event the best it could be. We all decided to eat and get some drinks just to get a game plan together for the 40+ couple/guests that would also be arriving over the next two (2) days. We finally found the cafeteria (mess hall) and what a joke, old, cold, and non-appetizing food (I have pics and video). We ate just enough to fight off starvation and thought we would try and make reservations to one of the 5-6 restaurants we were told the property had via their web app. To our amazement only 2 of the restaurants were open and none of them had reservation’s available for the next 3 days; (we came to learn during our stay that only 1-2 were open at any given time for the whole stay of 6 days). We spent the next 2 days going back to the main lobby every time someone checked in because there was one problem or another (disgusting rooms, no room available, or they simply did not have the persons reservation, which is hilarious because your shuttle service knew to pick them up from the airport and bring them to the resort but somehow, they didn’t have a reservation!! (What a joke). So after two full days of these shenanigans, we had all guests accounted for and began to get into full wedding mode for our friends big day, disaster strikes again, people myself included began to feel ill, (the food, the mold the whole atmosphere) who knows we pushed on get to the wedding event and boom they did it again! As the bride is walking down the aisle the music cuts out and we all look over at the DJ (a young guy maybe 18-20 years old in an old T-shirt and cargo shorts) which cost them $, playing music from his old smartphone, holding it in the air as if he didn’t understand why the music was not playing as he’d hoped. oh wait they tried to bribe the bride and grrom out of posting a bad review, they wanted them to sign a waiver saying they would not leave a bad review in exchange for a 600 dollar credit on their 7k wedding LOL. they clearly refused to do this. Also on a very serious side note Sandos Playacar is paying for fake reviews to be posted. if you do not belive me go look today 9/15/2022. they just had a review posted yesterday 9/14/22 that says "Having Fun" is the review title

This company is fraudulent, there is no value added to their services. They are taking advantage of the fact that wedding guests are forced to use them. I tried to book a return flight airport transfer that was included in my package that was prepaid, and they would not accommodate me first because I was not booking round trip transportation (which actually would save them money). When I decided it was not worth it to arrive early I changed my flight and they still would not accommodate me because I missed their artificial deadline, nor would they refund me for services not provided. I had to spend an extra $500 on transportation that I already paid Destify for. They create these artificial rules that are one-sided so that they can rob you blind. They do not care about customer service or doing what is right.

If you are having a destination wedding; its super important to have a good travel agent to represent you. This company does not give you the proper guidance and will make sure that things go horribly when planning your destination wedding. Please rethink before using the as your travel agent. In addition, rather than trying to right their wrongs, they don't do anything to help better the horrible situation they put you in. Once its too late, you cant turn back and use a different agent.
