Decorative Plumbing Pros should have known!
Should have known! ordered Phylrich VB1001CNL for faucet purchased in 1998. According to the site, (and the paperwork that was originally included with the faucet) this would be the proper replacement. However, a design change somewhere along the line meant the part actually worked in terms of shutting off the water, but, the lever/trim adapters would not attach properly. Turns out the LC499CNL is an updated version of the valve that eliminates the need for the adapters. So, had to order one of those. It works, but, it requires a different bolt to hold on the lever, which is NOT included. Also, the part shipped is actually marked LVCART001, (NOT LC499) which and has no markings indicating it's a genuine Phylrich part. It works, but, doesn't allow the trim pieces to be installed to match with the originals. My guess is it's most likely produced by a different company. I would include pictures so others would be aware, but I don't see a way to attach them.
