I like the care and thought that goes into the packaging and shipping of the food to ensure by the time I receive it in Hawaii that it is still frozen. It is a very perishable product and I would like to thank you for doing an excellent job.

My pup was already a healthy young girl when I chose Darwin's, and I'm extremely happy with this decision. People constantly comment on how soft her fur is and how vibrant her eyes are, and she has loads of energy to boot. She is always so happy after her Darwin's meal. On top of that, the customer service is EXCELLENT. I recently had an order that got stuck at a carrier facility for too long (never happened before) and as soon as I called, Darwin's happily created a new order and had my order set for a quick 3 day delivery turnaround on a Saturday. Human and pup are very happy; 10 star experience.

I have been getting Darwin's Natural Selections chicken since around 2019 for my boy kitty. I have also used their Intelligent Design prescription food for my lovely girl kitty whom I lost in 2020 due to late stage kidney disease and suspected cancer. I wish I had found their food sooner when she first got sick but only got her on it near the end due to her loosing her appetite. Furthermore I have also ordered their biologics chicken for dogs for my moms shitzu who REFUSES almost all dog food and only wants human food. He LOVES this stuff. Darwin's customer service has gone above and beyond anytime I've had an issue. This includes recently when GLS messed up on my package status and made me think that my food was delivered when it wasn't. The woman I spoke with made sure that my package was still in transit. She also made sure I knew that she could respond to me over the weekend in case of emergency and could get food reordered so I wouldn't have to wait until Monday. The quality of the food has always been superb and comes mostly frozen even after 2-3 days in transit. My boy loves it! despite being ill he still screams for it with the tenacity of a hungry lion lol My boy is an old man now at around 16 years or so and has stage 3 kidney disease with recent congestive heart failure from prior septal focal hypertrophy that has progressed. One could say he unfortunately "lost the genetic lottery" in life but he's happy and doing well regardless. He's been stable on this diet since being diagnosed in 2020 with then early stage 2 CKD. He has had no high blood pressure, no electrolyte deficiencies, and no anemia which are common symptoms for CKD. I only just put him on phosphorus blockers earlier this year. While I can't definitively prove this, I thoroughly believe his diet has been a big contributing factor for his stability despite raw food containing higher phosphorus than conventional cat food. This company cares about quality, safety and their customers. They are worth trying out. FYI for those of you out there with CKD cats (and dogs) who could use some help: CATS: Look into Catney One (non aluminum, non calcium raising phosphorus binder, usually used in later stages and only needed if blood test show high phosphorus. Getting an FGF-23 test alongside a traditional blood panel can show you earlier detection and paint a better picture. Epakitin is cheaper but can raise calcium, this is fine if high calcium isn't an issue for your pet. Porus One (binds to uraemic precursors, promoting excretion of toxic componds) CATS AND DOGS: Astros oil (mainly for their low/no phosphorus protein powder which is important for pets on low protein CKD diets. Their nitrogen scrub is just gum arabic as a prebiotic, their fish oil has coQ10 which you can both get cheaper elsewhere. The gum arabic dropped my boys BUN by 3 points when he was first put on it. It feeds bacteria that help remove nitrogen in the gut. This is known for humans with CKD as well. I use Kitchen Alchemy's Gum Arabic from Amazon. CATS AND DOGS: RX vitamins liquid B-plex or their B-plex plus potassium for low potassium issues. Contains vitamins and amino acids. CATS: Life Extension Cat Mix is a vitamin mix that you can use instead of or with RX vitamins b-plex but pay attention to doubling up on stuff. I use RX 2x daily and the cat mix once because my boy pees most of the vitamins out but an earlier stage cat might not need all that.) CATS: Rx vitamins renal feline (I suggest the powder form in capsules, the beadlets tend to sink near the bottom of a food dish in soupy meals) herbal blend that supports kidney health but some heart health too.) "Tanya's Comprehensive Guide to Feline Chronic Kidney Disease" was a pivotal site in helping me during the beginning of my boy's CKD journey. *Cats have low thirst drive. Making every meal a soup ensures adequate hydration* FOR HEART ISSUES IN CATS: Hawthorn extract, particulary the berries and leaves in glycerin (alcohol extract bad for cats, ok for dogs) is known for strengthening the heart. It functions like a weaker form of Pimobendan. It has contradictions in cats with full HCM due to contractions being difficult in a severely thickened heart. But if your pet has just a weak heart or only partial thickening like my boy, it could help them. Resveracat brand Resveratrol supports heart health. Resveratrol (source from Japanese Knotweed ONLY if for cats) has been shown in rat studies to thin heart wall thickening from HCM but this has not been studied in cats yet. Some cat studies did show kidney health improvement. It helps my boy. The FDA recently approved a medication to reverse heart thickening in cats with HCM. It's called Felycin-CA1 (active ingredient Sirolimus) ask your vet about it and make sure to research the side effects. Hope this all helps you in some way!
