Unsustainable practices
This is a review about the company, not the customer experience. I recently bought a Dakine snowboard bag. It turned out to be defective so I made a claim on the lifetime warranty. They honoured the warranty, however they demanded I destroy the defective bag. I understand the commercial reasons for them requesting this, however, I find it quite appalling that they do not have a proper repair or recycling scheme in place. Dakine is an outdoors sports brand that boasts about their sustainability credentials. However, these claims ring hollow when they enforce a wasteful policy of destroying items that could easily be repaired or recycled. I sincerely hope that they are working on a more sustainable system, for example, to send items back for repair or to collect the defective items, as other outdoor apparel companies already have in place.
