I used my Daiwa massage chair for a few months with no problem. However, as time went by, the force and pressure of the different mechanisms got harder and stronger. At one point, the chair latched onto my heel and squeezed painfully tight. I couldn't remove my foot and the pain was unbearable. I couldn't walk for days. I saw a doctor to insure nothing was broken and discovered I just had a deep contusion-she called it a bone bruise. I contacted Daiwa. They asked for proof of the incident, which I forwarded to them. Charles Ishida assured me Daiwa/Jaclean would take care of the problem. That was 6 months ago. I have called and emailed more than a dozen times. My calls and emails aren't answered. At this point, I have to sit on a pillow with a blanket protecting my neck and head, and my feet out of the foot slots. It's basically worthless to me.

Terrible service
I want to share my experience with Daiwa's customer service so potential buyers know what to expect.
We purchased a Daiwa massage chair for $8,000. Four years later, we needed it moved and I clearly explained when scheduling service that the chair would need to be disassembled to fit through the doorway. I agreed to the $750 service charge.
The technicians arrived, removed two panels in about 30 minutes, then left without completing the job. The chair still would not fit through the door. When I contacted them immediately and asked them to return and finish the work, they refused and directed me to customer service.
Despite accomplishing nothing, Daiwa charged the full $750 fee. Paying that amount for an unsuccessful service call was frustrating, especially when there was no effort to resolve the issue.
Most disappointing was the lack of accountability and customer support. After investing in what is marketed as a premium product, I expected professionalism and competence. Instead, I was left with an unfinished job, a large bill, and no meaningful assistance.
Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone considering a Daiwa massage chair to carefully evaluate the company's service and support before making a purchase.

Bad Customer Service Post Sale
Sale representative informed me during the sales process that Daiwa had moving services as I was in the process of building a new house. Bought the chair. Now less than a year later, I call the company to schedule a move and find out that they do not offer moving services in my state. Now I have no way of retrieving the chair. They tell me to reach out to my service representative but he does not return phone calls or emails. Stay away from this company. Once they make the sale they no longer care. I wasted thousands of dollars on a chair that I cannot even retrieve.

Bad quality upholstery
Bad quality! After less than 4 years, the upholstery started to break. I called the service center and was told the warranty does not cover wear and tear! A $4000+ product does not last for 4 years!!!

Don't take care of their customers
Purchased our Daiwa chair in July 2019, 6-months later, it no longer works. Has not worked since February 2020. I've called every week for over 6-months trying to get help, they've tried to be helpful over the phone but at this point are just brushing me off.
At this point we need someone to come service our chair and they claim they will not be servicing their products and doing good by their customers because of Covid. I understand that safety is a priority but wearing a mask and other safety garments should be sufficient enough for them to service their customers chairs. Spending $7,000 on this chair for it to work 6-months is ridiculous and frankly, careless on behalf of Daiwa. They don't plan to start servicing their products anytime soon, which means I have this huge, expensive chair that is just wasting space.
Last communication with them was this past week when I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. They transferred me to a voicemail and I still have heard nothing back... surprise, surprise!

Hi Andrea,
Firstly, we thank you for posting such an honest review, as it helps us improve. Please accept our sincerest apologies for not being able to provide you service as quickly as we are used to. The COVID pandemic has definitely been a challenge in all types of industries, including ours. Nonetheless, we do understand your frustration, and again, we apologize.
We did work with you and your husband in trying to find solutions, like shipping the parts directly and providing guidance on how to use these parts. Unfortunately, this was not enough at the time, and our technician service was still needed.
As noted during a recent conversation between you and our service department, our efforts to reopen our technician services in your region, amid the pandemic, have come fruition. We have already send the work order to the branch nearest to you and our technician will be able to provide you the full repair service you need.
Please contact us at (310) 538-2298 for additional support.

Dear Pauls Life,
Thank you for taking the time share a review. I am sorry that you were having problems with your massage chair. We do offer extended warranty to our customers in case you need service after the regular warranty has expired. Some distributors of our massage chair offer 3rd party extended warranty through companies that are not part of Daiwa. As you informed us, you purchased extended warranty through a 3rd party and their service was not satisfactory to you. We are sorry that you have experienced this and we encourage you to contact the 3rd party warranty company so they can provide you with more information on their warranty.
