I’ve used curology in the past two years ago so I wanted to get it again. I signed up for the free trial on Monday. It’s Saturday and the consultant still hasn’t responded.
Also, I was just about to see if she responded so I tried logging in to curology. The login through google doesn’t work so I tried the email option. The link only works one time and keeps saying “error unauthorized.” I find it funny that the consultant nor the login works. It wasn’t like this two years ago...

Hardly any product in the bottle, ripoff
The trial set took almost a month between shipping and delivery. I used the products for about a month and didn't notice much of a difference. My main issue with Curology is the price of the custom treatment considering how much product you actually recieve. I unscrewed the bottle after finishing it and was upset to find that there was hardly any product in the bottle. There is a small compartment holding the product that is maybe one fifth of the size of the bottle, probably about a tablespoon of cream of less, for $20. I feel like not only is this a huge waste of packaging, it's also very deceptive and a major ripoff.

Hi Ella,
I'm so sorry you've been unhappy with your experience!
We try to be transparent about the amount in our bottles, our 1-month trial holds 12mL and our 2-month holds 24mL. We recommend applying a thin layer so that you do not run out of formula.
Your Curology cream comes in a special bottle that keeps the prescription-strength ingredients inside fresh and potent for as long as possible.
Each bottle is designed with an airless pump delivery system, which vacuums your face cream up to the top to dispense it, rather than pumping it through a tube or straw.
You can read more about our bottles here: https://support.curology.com/article/80-curology-bottles
I hope this helps! 💜

I have struggled with hormonal acne…
I have struggled with hormonal acne since middle and high school! Once I got engaged at the age of 21, I got on birth control and that helped my skin a lot. I have been married for about 5 years and decided to get off my birth control and wanted to start something like curology before I started breaking out again. Unfortunately, Curology just didn't work for my skin. I gave it a shot for about 4 months, but my skin was just getting worse and worse. I didn't like the fact that I had already spent $60 on a 2 month supply, and then had to keep buying things like other recommended cleansers, sunscreens, etc. I wish that those things could have been picked and added to your box from the curology website so the whole package feels complete. I was in close contact with the dermatologists regularly and was recommended to go on an Antibiotic, but chose not to because I believe that causes more damage internally. So, back to a medicated facial cleanser and Differin gel, which I can get straight from amazon for way less than $60. Already clearing up to. I totally understand everyone's skin is different. So curology just wasn't for me!

Hi Nessa,
I'm so sorry that Curology did not work for you! Any product recommendations our providers recommend are solely recommendations, we wouldn't want to pressure you to buy anything you don't want to 💜
I'm SO glad that you found something that does work for you, and once again I am so sorry about your experience!

I’ve struggled with persistent acne…
I’ve struggled with persistent acne since I was in middle school which is about 6 years ago now. I’ve been through countless medications from my dermatologist but my skin would become resistant to the medicine and my acne would come back again. I decided to try a different route and went with curology and signed up for the free trial. I probably used it for about 3 months and saw no results, if anything my skin got worse. I gave it the benefit of the doubt knowing acne medications need time before you start to see clear skin, but at the end of the 3 months my skin hadn’t improved in any way. I ended up going back to my dermatologist recently and they gave me an accurate diagnosis of my skin, as it turns out I have a combination of rosacea and acne and they were able to get me medication that’s been helping my skin immensely. I started seeing positive results within about 2 weeks especially with my rosacea. In my opinion online dermatologist consultations can’t reach the level of analysis that an in person consultation with a dermatologist does, especially if you have more complicated and sensitive skin like myself. The medicine from my doctor is also way cheaper than what curology charges you for every box of medication.

Hi Emily,
Thank you so much for reaching out and letting us know about your concerns! I’m sorry to hear that you are feeling frustrated with your experience at Curology. Let's see if we can clarify a few things for you.
First, you mentioned that your skin did not improve after using your formula for three months. I’m not sure whether or not you checked in with your Curology medical provider during this time, but know that our providers are always willing to make adjustments to your formula and routine if needed.
Second, you mentioned that your in-person dermatologist diagnosed you with rosacea. We are happy to hear that you’re receiving proper treatment for this condition. We only want what’s best for you!
Finally, we are happy to hear that you are fortunate enough to have access to an affordable in-person dermatologist. Many people are not as fortunate, and we hope to provide an affordable alternative to those patients.
We hope you find that information helpful, and we wish you all the best! 💜

I dont even know
I dont even know
I honestly feel like Curology creates problems (acne) then only clears up what it created so people are like oh my it works! I have been on this for 4 months and I almost never break out and my face looks like bee stings. DONT USE IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN! I ended up canceling curology no offense but best choice I ever made my skin is clearing up again.

Hi Emily,
I'm so sorry you haven't been happy with your experience.
We in no way want to cause more acne! You might be experiencing purging, which is common when starting new prescription skincare. Feel free to check out our guide to learn more: https://curology.com/guides/skincare/purging/
If you're experiencing stinging, I suggest messaging your provider as they are your best resource for suggestions and advice. I hope this helps! 💜

Not a scam, but certainly not good
I don't think Curology is a scam or a hoax. That said, I think the degree to which they idealize customer outcomes in their marketing strategy teeters on the edge of being irresponsibly misleading. Curology is not a magic bullet that will fix all of your skin's problems during the three month trial (nor will it necessarily make your skin better at all). In my personal experience, I was going through a rough patch with my skin, got nervous and desperate in the midst of the lockdown and decided to start a free Curology trial. I find it difficult to believe that the three pictures you take combined with the short, basic skin quiz do much to perfect your "customized" skin care. From the beginning of my trial to the end of the three months, Curology made my skin worse. Significantly worse. I was breaking out in new places on my face, my skin became increasingly bumpy and textured, and I even started developing cysts (which I've never had before). 2 weeks in, I contacted my provider. She told me to be patient because purging could take up to 8 weeks. I get to the 8 week mark and my skin is stagnantly bad at this point (there didn't seem to be signs of change or active purging). I write my provider again (note: my original provider was on vacation, so I had a stand in provider- I actually liked her a lot better. She was very informative, knowledgeable, and understanding), which I had to pay for, and she ultimately recommends I just wait it out some more. I ended up canceling shortly after. I think Curology results probably fall on a bell curve of sorts. The dramatic, exclusively positive results they advertise aren't representative of their outcomes. I get that that's business, but please don't be fooled by their high profile ads and sweeping, potentially empty promises like I was. Maybe it could do you some good, but chances are, you won't get the amazing skin you've been promised. The bottles are small, the service is mad expensive, and if you have problems you'll likely be met with a fluffy, generic response about waiting it out because everybody's skin is different. That said, I doubt anything too horrible will happen if you want to try it out for yourself. I was able to get the refund pretty easily, so the only thing I lost was time and peace of mind.

Hi Jessica,
I appreciate your honest review, even if I am sorry to hear that your experience was not what you (or we) had hoped for.
Curology helps many who sign up, but of course, we are not a miracle cream that will work for absolutely everyone.
Unfortunately, there is no one-size fits all approach with any skincare treatment because we are all different. We try to be transparent about that fact, and share the percentage of those who do see results with Curology openly (88%).
It is not our mission to mislead anybody, we want to share real results, but I do hear you and we can share progress photos at all steps in the journey!
Again, I am so sorry to hear that Curology wasn’t the right fit for you, but I do hope you find what’s right! 💜

Worked for a short period
Worked for a short period, then stopped. They use antibiotic Clindamycin as their main ingredient. This ingredient MUST be used in conjunction with benzoyl peroxide otherwise there is a big risk of resistance. Curology does not advise patients correctly. My acne came back worse. Bad company :(

Not enough product in the bottle
Not enough product in the bottle, the bottle that is supposed to last two months just lasted A little over one month for me,
I just think for the price it’s not worth the money if it only lasts one month. It was working fine and I started to see results but since I ran out my skin went back to the way it was and now I’m left without any product unless I pay for another “2 month” bottle to be shipped early. Disappointed.

Hi Alicia,
I'm so sorry that you've been unhappy with the amount of product that's in our bottles! I understand how frustrating it must be to run out early.
Our 1-month bottle holds 12 mL and our 2-month holds 24 mL. We recommend applying thin layer so that you have enough formula to last you until your next shipment. I hope this help!
I'd love to bring your feedback to the team, and once again sincerely apologize! 💜
