My experience with this company has been a very difficult one, I like many heard and saw many advertisements online. Purchased the product and use it for a couple of months and it didn't work for me so I went and saw a demonologist, which yielded positive results. So I contacted Curology for a refund and cancel my service, I have not been contacted in regards to any of my request. I have been charged already twice after my initial request for cancellation. It was easy to sign up and for Curology but if you want to cancel your service that is a different experience all together. Highly disappointed

Is a good product worth the inevitable swindle?
I liked the product fine. The website is very minimalist and difficult to navigate. Once you enter a payment option you cant delete it until you add a new one. If you change the setting regarding what you want to buy monthy, they reset to the most expensive options after a month. Also, they charged me $61 for face stuff that i never got.
When i wrote them multiple emails to try to remedy the situation or get a refund i didn't get a single word of response. Not even an automated email.
After reading these reviews, im sure they are SO sorry that im posting a negative review about them ripping me off. Just like they will be SO sorry about the patronizing tone of the response messeges they send me telling me how this is my fault. Unfortunately, that still isnt sorry enough for them to be a decent company and right all of these wrongs.
Still waiting for my email response.
Edit:
2 days after writing this they got back to me and refunded my money.

Great until you have problem
Have been using curology for over a year - I like their products. However, the last shipment never arrived, and I emailed them regarding this for almost a week (total 3 emails), no response. I saw that they are frequently responding reviews on here, but ignore customer emails for almost a week from multiple emails. No phone number you can use to call them. So curology is good, but util you have issue. I am going to end my subscription, cancel my payment on my credit card and file a complaint since I have been charged for nothing.

Received email my trial subscription - that I did NOT sign up for. No way to get immediate help with FRAUD!…
Received email my trial subscription has been activated and I will be charged $4.95. I did not sign up for this service and their website does not have a way to talk to someone about this fraudulent activity. You can only send an email and someone will get back to you.
Update!
I just got an email from Curology and I'm at a loss for words. We're sorry you didn't understand we're a subscription service when you signed up. What??? I told you I did NOT sign up, enroll or otherwise show any interest in this service/subscription. I made it clear this was a case of fraud.
I would stay away from this company if this is how they handle fraud or any other type of issue. I have worked in e-commerce, subscription billing and card processing for 20 years and this organization does not know what they're doing.

Curology is not for everyone
Curology is not for everyone. This is my second time giving Curology a chance. They say purging should only last for a few weeks to a few months. I was 3-4 months in after getting my formula changed and was still "purging". Pimples continued to show up. After finally getting so frustrated and cancelling, it's been 5 days and my skin has not looked better in 4 months since starting. I'm sure it has worked for some people but just know that Curology isn't for everyone especially hormonal acne. Use anything CeraVe or the ordinary, it has helped my skin so much.

Hi Erin,
Thank you for giving Curology a chance! I'm SO sorry to hear that you didn't have the results you wanted; I understand how frustrating that might be.
While Curology works for many, we do understand that Curology might not work for everyone. I sincerely hope you do find something that works for you! 💜

Terrible bottle design
Terrible bottle design. Doesn’t warn that it’s about to run out either visibly or by weight. Shipping takes over a week for a refill. Not worth the time and energy. Support responds quickly until you ask for a refund per their guarantee. Don’t trust it!
Response from CurologyJun 15, 2021
Hi Craven,
I'm sorry you've been unhappy with our bottles!
Your Curology cream comes in a special bottle that keeps the prescription-strength ingredients inside fresh and potent for as long as possible.
Each bottle is designed with an airless pump delivery system, which vacuums your face cream up to the top to dispense it, rather than pumping it through a tube or straw.
If you'd like to learn more about our bottles, you can read here: https://support.curology.com/article/80-curology-bottles
I'm SO sorry you've had trouble with customer service, do you mind leaving your name and email so we can look into this for you? 💜

The worst!!
They are the absolute worst!! Hate is a strong word, but I hate Curology. Started about 6 months ago for dark spots and hormonal acne for the few bumps I get monthly. The first formula literally did nothing but cause a major breakout, dry out my skin, and cause redness. No improvements, not even on the dark spots. I got a new formula 2 months ago, and my skin has been going through hell ever since. The dermatologist that I messaged with through Curology said this formula would make things “worse, then better”, so I continued to use it, but I’ve used the entire two month supply, and my skin is just worse. There’s been no improvement whatsoever, and now I have painful cystic acne, more dark spots from the acne, rougher textured skin and a ton of tiny bumps that won’t go away. I’ve never had to deal with any of that prior. I went to see a local dermatologist today, who advised me to stop using the Curology immediately. Now, I have a brand new, unopened bottle that I can’t use, and they don’t accept returns or process refunds. $40 + the cost of new treatment down the drain. Never again!!
Update:
Had to re-write this review after a Curology team member “Victoria” responded saying I was going through a “purging period” (definitely not the case 6 months in), then had my review flagged. Within 3 weeks or so of stopping the Curology, my skin cleared up with the exception of one really dark and tender spot on my right cheek left behind after bad cystic acne breakout while using Curology. Not sure why my original review was flagged for removal, but I read that others have had similar experiences and I thought that was shady, so I decided to re post my experience. My advice would be to see a local dermatologist, if you can.
Best of luck!

Hi Rose,
We are truly so sorry to hear about your experience. Everyone's skin reacts differently to prescription ingredients and members can have different experiences when it comes to purging and progress.
I would like to follow up with our customer success team about your experience if that is ok with you!

Do not recommend
I wasted money on Curology for close to 9 months and saw no change in my skin. I used the medicated formula religiously, only used their facewash and moisturizer, followed all their instructions, checked in and sent pictures through the website. The dermatologist sent me a slightly stronger version of the same formula after about four months and it still did nothing. I was careful to explain in detail the kind of acne I was experiencing. I finally decided to try a different company and they sent me a completely different formula that began working in less than a week. They also suggested that I may have hormonal acne, something no one had ever mentioned to me before. A trip to my doctor confirmed this and she put me on Spironalactone. Throughout this whole ordeal, Curology never tried to troubleshoot, change my medicated formula, or look into hormonal acne. They just told me to kept buying their formula and that "most people see results in as little as two months, but for some it may take up to a year." That's bullsh** and just a way for them to keep selling you their product. Topical benzicycline will not do anything for hormonal acne, and I have to doubt the qualifications of their dermatologists who would not try to explore other options with people seeking help. Curology gets a lot of buzz on podcasts and social media but they're not worth the hype. I switched to another company and am much happier with the results.

Hi Mila,
We appreciate you letting us know about your concerns! It sounds like you are feeling frustrated with your experience at Curology. Let's see if we can clarify a few things for you.
First, I’d like to share some general information about hormonal acne. It’s true that hormones can certainly contribute to breakouts, but please know that acne is multi-factorial. Hormones do play a part, but so do other factors such as clogged pores and bacteria. Although one may predominate, all acne is caused by a combination of factors. Therefore, treatments that do not affect hormones directly still help hormonal acne to a variable extent. In fact, these treatments are often necessary in order to counteract the multiple factors that combine to create the "perfect storm" that causes acne breakouts.
Second, I want to reassure you that all of the physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants on our team are highly trained dermatology medical providers. They work as part of an interdisciplinary team with board-certified dermatologists. We also use the same well-studied, proven ingredients that in-person dermatologists have been using for years. As a member of Curology, you can reach out to your provider at any point to discuss changes to your formula and/or routine to help control your acne.
With that said, if you do not want to continue with Curology, we completely understand, and you may be better served by an in-person dermatologist. If you need help finding an in-person dermatologist, you can ask your primary care physician or other local healthcare provider for a recommendation, or visit the American Academy of Dermatology site: https://www.aad.org/find-a-derm. We only want what’s best for you!
We hope you find that information helpful. Please message your curology provider if you'd like to discuss this in more detail. 💜
Best,
Victoria & The Team @ Curology
