Horrible people owed them $130 when I moved. They forced me to pay $30 of that in late fees! They came and dumped out the unused jugs into the lawn. The low life scum literally threatened to take me to court over $100. I paid them off and told them I didn't appreciate the threatening letter and told them to never call again. Don't use these petty money hungry scoundrels.

We started using Culligan about a year…
We started using Culligan about a year ago and have had 1 filter change. I had an appointment today with a window of 12-4. I called at 1:45 to see if they had an idea of a better window of when they would be here, she said “once they leave we have no idea”. The person never showed up. No call, no text saying, “heyI’m sorry I won’t be able to make it today, something held me up. Nothing. So disappointing. We spent over 1,000 last time we changed our filters. For that kind of money you’d think they could at least show up or give you a “head up”. Beyond disappointed.

If you have options where you are…
If you have options where you are located chose any other company besides Culligan. Been suffering with Culligan for years, regular driver is great, local office good but main customer service has always been absolutely horrendous. Any issue they will not solve even if the issue is clearly their fault. Didn’t delivery my water today and customer service said too bad we can get you again in two weeks or at your next scheduled delivery. Which means I will waste my time, and spend more money to purchase water somewhere else. When I changed my tone and said this was not acceptable the representative told me not to yell at her! LOL expressing frustration in a tone she didn’t appreciate is not yelling, no belittling or curse words uttered. Representative expected me to say okay great I will wait weeks for my product and it is okay to remove the funds from my bank account today even though it wasn’t delivered; but since I didn’t agree I was yelling and when asked for a manager was told she would end the call. Arrogance isn’t customer service, not delivering product and rectifying the issue isn’t customer service.

SAVE YOUR $$ DIY OR FIND A BETTER OVERALL COMPANY. THEY EXIST!
Very bad customer service and poor communication unless it's to threaten to send a sheriff to my home for equipment retrieval for a large bill that we thought was still on its original autopay. We have had service for a couple of years now and have always had billing issues such as irreconcilable bills that we have to pay or receive threats of removal. This time we were under the impression that our original autopay was still in effect only to find out that it somehow was not. After accruing a $500.00 plus bill, we received a knock at the door and it was my installer who I know, and I explained I had just gotten my first call that same day and informed customer service that my wife would be making the minimum payment of $150.00. He said, 'Oh, okay, no problem.' My wife didn't remember to that day, so instead of calling me, I received a text message. Not to inform me of the payment, but to let me know they had already scheduled a sheriff to come do a retrieval including date and time.
- 2 years as customers
- Never stiffed them
- I currently know at least 2 people that work in the small Mason City, IA office, and 1 that used to work there; he's my son.
My wife was going to make the payment and resume autopay, however, 1st I decided to go forward with the removal by rescheduling it for a time that was convenient for me and not you. 2nd I also decided, after extensive research, to go with another better-rated product and company. 3rd I plan to, and as you see, have already started the process of telling my story to as many people in as many different places as I possibly can.
The purpose??? To teach another what a single voice can accomplish. I am a small business owner of 2. Your company has tried to hold me hostage to a luxury that can be bested for less. Not intelligent.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Darrell S. Conway

They are steeling tank within the company
If I could give it zero stars, I would our Representative ROBERT Madigan is a total crook and I say that because I have evidence against him I had Culligan come with a big blue truck with Culligan all over it and I had Jesus bring me my tank a few days later I could hear somebody way on the side of the house because it’s hidden the tank and there was a guy in an unmarked gray truck trying to switch out my tank now the only one who would know my address and where the tank is located is Representative ROBERT Madigan. He is selling these tanks and making money off them. Do not use Culligan Representative ROBERT Madigan. I’ve put out a note and I’ve got something to take a photograph of they come and try to do this again he tried to upsell me meaning Robert Madigan to get two tanks and I said to him there’s only me in the house. I don’t have any grandchildren and children, dogs, and my husband‘s only here one day a week and are you crazy and that’s when I got it that they had something going on aside job that profits and more than there Shirley paid by Culligan so behoove them to work for Culligan because they have the address and where the tank is located and then selling the tag makes them much more money.

Lack of Communication and Incomplete Service Put Guests at Risk
I rely on Culligan to cold-start my water system each spring, as I don't reside at the property until mid-summer. I trust Culligan's equipment and authorized service to deliver clean water for friends and repeat renters who use the cottage prior to our arrival.
This spring, the Culligan team arrived before my plumber, who gets the well pump primed and operational. They simply reinstalled the components stored for winter, replaced a filter, and left.
There was no follow-up call or email to inform me that the system was not actually started up. The water softener was left off and the brine tank was completely empty, despite four bags of rock salt left right beside it. Furthermore, the service invoice contained no notes regarding the scope of work completed, open items, or warnings.
As a result, the system ran in this state for six weeks while two sets of guests stayed at the cottage. I feel completely let down and deeply uneasy about guests using an unserviced water system.
This is not the first time I have experienced ineffective communication and poor customer service. As near as I can tell, this local dealership lacks a basic field service management system to plan, coordinate, and communicate before, during, and after a paid service call.
Culligan’s brand reputation means nothing when backed by this level of service. I have lost complete faith in the brand.

Culligan, Barrie Office. We are a decades long water conditioner…
We are a decades long water conditioner renter and requested a service call because of reduced water pressure and poor water quality.
We found the customer service phone rep in their Barrie office to be rude and a little confrontational. But because my career is in retail, I let it pass. The first available service appointment was 3 weeks away. The technician came and determined that we need a full replacement. That was 5 weeks ago. They have scheduled an install date twice and cancelled the morning of both times because 'they didn't have a tank for us'. Said they would reschedule at a later date. My patience having finally run its course, I phoned to cancel our contract and request a tank removal. Once again, an abrupt, borderline rude, I don't care attitude. No apology for the inconvenience or
explanation for 'no tanks available.'
