I dealt with 3 separate locations and had a bad experience on all 3. These were all shipping purchases. Today is 8/26/26 and the first purchase was made on 8/5/26. I still have not received my items. I spoke with them and they said they lost the label. The 2nd company sent a shipping bill that was almost 50% of the item I purchased. It was a 14K gold cross weighing less than 1 oz. and they billed me $29.00 to ship. Please be aware if you are bidding from this company that you will be gauged heavily on shipping. You will not have any control of the cost. Run away from this company. I haven't bought local through them yet so I don't know how that experience will be.

The problem is shipping through Shipping Saint. I purchased items and paid $35.89 for shipping through USPS Ground Advantage. The box weighed 10.1 OUNCES and was shipping from zip 91016 to 93065 - addresses - 52 MILES apart. The box measures 7 1/2 x 6 x 3 1/2 inches. I HAVE PHOTOS of everything, from my CT bids invoice, to the unopened box on a postal scale, to screen shots of actual USPS Ground Advantage quote ($9.95). When questioned, CT Bids said the shipper charges $6 handling fee, and $2.76 for the box. PER USPS AND SHIPPER THAT SHOULD COST $18.71. So I got fleeced for an additional $17.81. Again, I have photos of everything. I DO NOT appreciate getting blatantly ripped off for almost $20 extra in unaccounted for cost. This is unacceptable.

There is ZERO way to contact CTBIDS for support. I won a lot and the seller quoted me $40 shipping. I got an invoice for $175 shipping! Do not use this website. I will be filing a chargeback with my credit card. AND because I won't pay the shipping, ctbids rules are that I forfeit my winning bid! So they get to keep the item and my money because I won't spend $175 shipping on a $40 item.

I recently won a CTBids auction for six shirts with a winning bid of $13.85. Several days later, I received an email letting me know that shipping still needed to be paid. The shipping/handling charge was $47.64. I genuinely don't understand how that amount is being calculated. These are six shirts—not a large, heavy, or unusually fragile item. They should reasonably pack into a box or mailer under 5 lbs and under one cubic foot. For comparison, current USPS Ground Advantage rates for a 5 lb package are roughly $20–$26 even at the higher-distance zones, depending on whether commercial or retail postage is being used. So how does six shirts get to nearly $48 to ship? I understand that businesses may charge for packing materials and handling, and I don't expect shipping to be free. My issue is the lack of transparency. I wasn't given a choice of carrier or shipping service, and I didn't know the actual shipping charge until after I had already won the auction. If the $47.64 includes a substantial packing or handling fee, that should be clearly itemized so buyers can understand what they're paying for. This system also makes it very difficult to bid intelligently. A $13.85 auction win isn't much of a deal when you're later presented with a shipping bill more than three times the winning bid. CTBids should provide buyers with a shipping estimate before they bid, offer economical shipping options when appropriate, and clearly disclose any packing or handling fees separately from the actual carrier cost. Until there is more transparency around shipping costs, I'll be much more hesitant to bid on anything that needs to be shipped.

I gave CT Bids a $1000.00 deposit and 200 plus items to sell on my behalf. I had rock and roll posters, sports collectables, chainsaw, compressor, powerwasher, a brand new kitchenaid,new ring camera and many many great new items. I recieved a check from the auction for $1003.32 which means I made a whopping $3.32 on 200.00 items. The breakdown, 1.6 cents per item. Do not agree to a deposit.

CTBids tracks customer problems with sellers. Doesn't matter if the seller was at fault, they suspend your account. Damaged items or misrepresented items are always the buyer's fault in their system and there is no recourse.

After I won a very nice lot without much competition, they left me a voice message claiming the items I won were accidentally broken into pieces. When I went to the shop (in MA) to verify the items' condition, they told me that they already tossed items away and refused to provide any evidence to prove their claim.

I had ctbids in Winchester, VA sell everything in my house. According to the contract 14 days after everything is sold, I was to receive an itemized paperwork explaining everything. How much items were sold for, how much I owed and how much profit. Sale occurred Sept. 2025. I have called and emailed repeatedly. Been told it was sent. Twice. Was told they would email it to me. As of July 2026 I have received nothing. No amount of calling, asking, or emailing has resulted in the contractual documents. I have received nothing. No documents have been provided. A clear lack of transparency.
