We're sorry the client was so unhappy with our service. We were holding group space on a cruise date that she wanted to book. However, the group was already closed and we could not add her, which meant that we could not offer her a $50 on board credit. Once we realized that, we purchased a $50 on board credit for her so that she would have the same amenity as the rest of the guests sailing on that date.

Great until you have earned cruise status
If you have any experience with cruising, you probably know more than the travel agents. Have been asked what was a hump cabin.
I always used cruise.com as they will
give free gratuity with balcony cabins. After more than 10 bookings with them things started to be difficult. Won't give you gratuities if you use your diamond balcony discount. Won't honor deals and bonuses on their website.
Lately not worth the time to book with them. I would only recommend to people who don't have significant cruise points/status.

Offer good price but no followup service none what so ever
The website is good for searching for destination, dates and cruise lines. But once I find the cruise I am interested in, I can not save it for future reference, therefore making comparison hard and cumbersome.
Once I made the booking, I only got one confirmation e-mail and absolutely no other communication. I can not log back in to check my booking status such as cabin assignment or any other options. I called the customer service and they said I have to do everything else on the cruise line website. If I have to do that, I wonder why I would go thru an agent in the first place since the cruise line most of the time offer the same price anyway.
I was particularly upset to find out that by booking with Cruise.com one of the largest cruise agency in the business was no help none what so ever in assisting me in getting the best possible cabin assignment with the cruise line. Since these days cruise line offer better price on the 'Guarantee' categories and I was hoping that by booking with the agency that has a good relationship and large business with the cruise line that they will be able to secure a best possible cabin assignment for their customers. But when I was assigned the worst outside cabin with fully obstructed view on Azamara Journey, even after I made extensively sure that those cabins were no longer in their available inventory, I got assigned to such cabin any way. Which lead me to believe that the cruise line had upgrade their other customer and gave me (the Cruise.com customer) the lowest category instead. When I call up Cruise.com customer service to find out why those least desirable cabin which did not show up as available in their web inventory (assumed they were already sold out of those least expensive cabins) suddenly show up and I got assigned to it even with my 'Elite/Discovery Status' with the Azamara/Celebrity. The Cruise.com customer service agent told me that Cruise.com has absolutely no influence or preferred privilege at all with any cruise line and they can not assist the customer in getting any kind of upgrade with 'Guarantee' category cabin. Thus the customers are at the mercy of the Cruise line only. I come to conclusion that it is better for me to book directly with the cruise line online agent since I can develop a personal relationship with a particular agent that was assigned to me in the past and know my previous booking history and will help me in getting the best cabin assignment possible directly.
Therefore my conclusion is that by booking with Cruise.com, I have absolutely no special benefit none what so ever and actually made my transaction via third party steps that as a customer, gaining nothing. So for future cruises, I think I will go directly with cruise line website for my booking and I will get much better service and for the same price. And for Holland America, I find that with my Mariner's status, the price is always $100 less with Holland America direct website booking over Cruise.com price. I was surprised to find out that but there it is, it is the fact that Cruise lines are trying to get the customers to book directly with them rather than going thru an online agent. So unless the agent like Cruise.com can offer any special benefits for booking thru them, there is no reason to do so.

Service was better in the past
We have been using cruise.com since our first cruise to Alaska. We used to work with Ms. M Brandt. Ms. Brandt has moved on and worked in another department at cruise.com. So, this year, I have booked two cruises with someone else through cruise.com.
The first one was NCL Hawaiian cruise in January/February. There was an overcharge of $10 for two invoices and we haven't received the refund of $20. Sometimes, I wonder how much time I should put in in order to get the $20 back.
The second cruise will be Alaska cruise with Princess. I have indicated that we had purchased future cruise credit. But, when I got the final payment invoice, there was no credit given despite the my online Princess account shows the credit has been used. I had to call cruise.com in order to straighten out the payment.
The second issue with cruise.com is that I had indicated that preferred dinning time would be 5:30 sitting time since my mother usually eats early. But, somehow, cruise.com put us (a group of 9 people) on 6:00 PM dinning time. I went online and changed the time without realizing the change doesn't apply to the entire members in my group. So, I had to call Princess to figure out and it apparently is too late for us to change the sitting time since we are a big good, need the table size of 10.
I would grade "excellent" for the service we received in the past. But, I have to say I am disappointed for the last two booking we did through cruise.com.

2.- I separated 1 st turn restaurant, and , later discoverd, We don t have any Table reservation. I call one more time, I did the . Second complain, And explain I m very disappointed for the second mistake, , and some hours later I receive mail from Mr. Estrada, where was inform, they can solve the inconvenient, and we have reservation as we asked originally.
3.- as I received yesterday one mail from another cruise company, where was offer also one special diner for 2 at the paid restaurant, I call and ask , if we can benefit with this too, was attended for a wonderful woman from Porto Rico, she try. , find this offer for us, but she can t. Anyway she do a perfect job..
We cruised by another line, no mistakes, and without claim for, we was upgrade the deck, and from balcony to the many suite.
As Cruise does many mistakes, I ask if they can offer something in compensation, like upgrade or some, but the answer was. NOT.

Had tried to make my cancelation as smooth as possible
I had booked a cruise on February 26, 2015 for a 7-day excursion at the end of August 2015 out of Baltimore. For last minute financial reasons, I will not be able to go on this excursion. I tried to cancel the set cruise, but was told I would "lose my $500 deposit". Being that the excursion is a good 5 months away, why do I have to end up losing my deposit? I have done some research about "Cruise.com", and I am seeing alot of complaints from previous customers.
Response from Cruise.comMar 20, 2015
Thank you very much for bringing your concerns to our attention. We reviewed your booking, which was made through our consumer booking engine, and saw that you had booked a nonrefundable fare (Carnival's Early Saver Fare). However, both Cruise.com and Carnival Cruise Line truly support the military and, as such, we called the cruise line and they agreed to refund the booking without penalty. One of our Customer Service agents has called you and also sent you an email and cancellation form, advising you that you have until May 30th to cancel without penalty. Thank you for your service to our country and for allowing us the opportunity to assist you in this matter.

Deceptive promotion code
cruise.com listed a cruise that was available on many other providers (the cruise line itself, Expedia, and other travel sites). I chose to book on cruise.com because it said that a $75 on-board credit was available. After I booked on cruise.com, I found out that the credit is only available IF enough people purchase, which is not currently true.
Had I known this ahead of time, I would have booked through another provider, given that, for example, Expedia offered a $50 bonus for booking with Mastercard.
