I've been using them for over 15 years. They started out somewhat promising, but over the years, they have become worthless as a backup strategy. Key points: If there is ever any problem with your data backup, their agents will not help. It usually takes days to get a reply to a response. Data loss is not uncommon. Their software is glitchy and has recently had a hiccup where it lost over 50% of my data. It's been days and I've only had a cursory response. Every followup has been ignored. They severely cap the upload limits, so if you are looking at over 5TB of data, you are looking at over a year of waiting to upload that. And when and if it finally gets uploaded, it could disappear for whatever reason and you will be hard pressed to get anyone to help.

Pretty rubbish really. Ok, I get that it will take a while to establish a full backup. But then for no obvious reason the whole backup disappears!!

A scam. Buyer beware. I paid for Small Business for 12.5 years. Then for the first time I tried to restore my data and it would not work via web, via Mac or via Windows or Linux. They delayed support responses. Finally they set up a call with support, and support realized we couldn't do anything because now my account was past due for that month. I told them I want my data before paying for more and they refused. Also, their terms say the only recourse is a 10% refund if you can prove their service was down, but you can't so you won't even get that. I lost 10 years of data, steer clear of this awful company.

I had 4.7TB of data stored backed-up via CrashPlan. But then, without notifying me, they deleted all the data with no possibility for recovery. So, in fact you pay money to them for a service they cannot delivery.

It's basically scam. I temporarily installed Crashplan on Windows machine as I had to restore my data (backed up by first device that is Linux headless machine). It didn't work out, support didn't help and later they charged me for 2 devices (second device had no backup). They refused to refund.

Ridiculously slow upload speed and no option to cancel the plan without contacting Support.

There is no way to change my plan despite multiple emails and raising a ticket. So they are going to delete my data in the near future. Unbelievable.

The worst part about Crashplan is they have no way to contact them via telephone. Support is handled through a ticketing process and they are slow to respond. I closed an account in 2023 and they continue to bill every month for it.
