We didn’t mind waiting an hour to be seated, but another hour to get our food? Our waitress disappeared. The place was trashed: straw paper, napkins and dirt everywhere. Another 30 min to pay our bill, only one checkout open. If you can’t staff it, close it. I shared my concerns with the manager but she was pretty busy flirting with her male staff members. Worst experience at a Cracker Barrel ever.

Disappointing 2nd visit
I’d visited Cracker Barrel once before and enjoyed my experience so returned for another hopefully enjoyable experience. Unfortunately not the case. Ordered the grilled sirloin steak with mashed potatoes, corn and coleslaw. Also Ordered a strawberry lemonade.
The lemonade was undrinkable it would make even the most diehard lemonade lover pucker for a year. I asked for another but told it made in batches so that was the taste.
The steak was too tough, the potatoes were flavorless & lumpy & the coleslaw had too much dill. Very disappointed with this meal. I rated it a 2 because my sister enjoyed her meal.

Flat "scrambled" eggs!
The western omelet was always my favorite thing to order for a Cracker Barrel breakfast. Recently I was at the Muncy PA store and the server told me that they had no way to make omelets anymore so I ordered the French toast and scrambled egg platter. Big mistake. The toast slices are less half the size as they once were and the "scrambled" eggs? Flat as a piece of cardboard - resembled something coming out of a machine roller. It seems like there's nothing going on in their kitchens except heating up frozen slop that's delivered on a trailer. But the price was higher. My wife and I were charged over $32.00 for 2 small platters, a cup of coffee and tea each and a glass of OJ. No biscuits offered, no grits, no water, nothing but the hovering server angling for tips every few minutes. We won't be back - ever.

We had to wait to be seated for over an hour, and when we were finally seated, we saw that more than half the tables were empty, and remained that way throughout our meal. The tables that were used were very close together. My back touched the back of the person behind me. The food was not great either, so it's not really worth the bother.i don't plan on going back.

LITTLE BITTY PORTIONS
It's about diminishing food portions! Less and less food. Portions get smaller every day. About 1 TSP of pintos (cheapest food in the place)! Teeny little biscuits. You can pay $15 to $20 and leave hungry. CB ain't what she used to be. Oh yes, you don't biscuits even with breakfast unless you ask for them, repeatedly. Stingy with butter, jelly, etc., too.

Food was served and it was cold
Food was served and it was cold. Sent it back and the new plate was ok. Wrong gravy on mashed potatoes both times. Late on refills. New menu and rewards program and also big price hikes. More choices but also more money. Very disappointed and may never return. Changes like this in menu prices will make them lose customers.

Taste like prison food
Taste like prison food! No Taste and everything microwaved.
On 9/3/23 Our KIA Sportage was broken into (smashed passenger rear window) while parked in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel in Columbus, Ohio (1313 Hilliard Rome Rd E., Columbus, Ohio). One other car (also KIA Sportage) was broken into during this time. When police arrived on scene, the officer stated there have been "multiple break-ins" at this location. The police officer also reported that there are local offenders known as "the KIA boys" who have committed multiple thefts related to KIA cars in the area. A police report was made for both cars that were burgled during that time period.
Upon inquiry, I was informed this was the SIXTH car break -in within the last 30 days on the parking lot, on the that shift alone. Upon inquiry, to the district manager about security measures and protocols (e.g. security guard, increased surveillance) since the increased break-ins, he deferred to their legal team and declined to respond. Not surprising and does not bode well for demonstrating care and concern of their patrons.
We were told, by staff, that an incident report was being made and would be sent to corporate HQ. We have not heard from anyone since then. We were not provided with an incident number and so we do not have any tangible evidence a report was filed or is being reviewed. Since the incident, I attempted to get in touch by phone, but the automated answering service goes in a loop so you never speak to a human (there are complaints of this online. I also attempted to contact them by social media the day after the incident and nothing has happened since then.
6 MONTH HISTORY OF THEFT AT THIS LOCATION: A public records request for all car break-ins at this location over the last 6 months yielded the following results: TWENTY-SEVEN incident reports of car break-ins and theft, as well as a few incidents of wallets stolen of the person of patrons sitting in the restaurant and dining. Most reports indicate the same type and color car involved.
Translation: This was foreseeable and Cracker Barrel had ample evidence and reason to enhance their security systems and protocols.
I have full reports of each incident and the damages are hundreds all the way up to tens of thousands of dollars of property stolen and charges made to credit cards.
Our Personal Damages: We have calculated an estimated $15,500 (and counting) in personal belongings stolen. This does not include non-monetery items, which cannot be replaced as well as repairs on our car and related collateral (e.g. car rental).
Current Attempts to reach out: 1. Google Review, 2. Instagram, 3. Customer Service Phone Number
This review is my 4th effort to reach Cracker Barrel. My 5th attempt will be a letter to their corporate offices. I assume no reply will be forthcoming.
