The Couchsurfing did an unlawful act against all of the members the fact Couchsurfing didn't even warn or consult members locking our accounts without our consent as well as oblige us to pay them money, it is against our rights and against law. You CS are bloody greedy, beggar and mendicant. Couchsurfing was sold to a greedy corporation a long ago. Which makes at least $15, $25 million dollars a year just from ads. Beside that a lot of member pay for verified membership which Couchsurfing partially privatised the community many years ago obliged to people to pay to get easy access to it and restricted none verified members. Along the way CS has riched to how to manipulate the peoples psychology and get easy money from them in fact it actually cheated people all along. Please do not pay Couchsurfing any money we can create a free new hosting side we are not depend on the bloody corporates like CS they are depend on us. Do not contribute leave CS

Since the company is extremely for profit it is a big bullsh*t. Without paying you can not even edit your profile. People are writing me request, but I can not answer them without paying fees. DONT RECOMMEND ANYMORE. The project is destroyed and dead!

Without any warning they blocked my account with all the long history of it. They raised the price so now if I want to host someone once in a month, I need to pay too much for it. That is unfair. It was an awesome platform, but I cant trust it anymore.

I've used CS for many years, hosting people, being hosted, met hundreds of people (Literally) through the hangouts, when they started to ask for a payment I willingly obliged, and was happy to do so. I made a payment, everything was fine, then a week later I was asked for another monthly payment, I made that payment was able to use my account for an hour, upon opening the app again I was greeted with another payment page. I created another account, paid, and the application has stopped working (Page just keeps reloading) so I logged in through the website, and they are yet again asking for another payment. Something very interesting is happening to CS, and it is a real shame because it was an amazing app.

It was a very nice thing with a self-governed, wonderful community of volunteers; then leadership changed and went for-profit, making it a total s***t. If I want to spend money to get an accommodation, I get AirBNB or an Hotel; if I want to spend money to host people for free... wait why on earth should I do that? Down with Couchsurfing!

Scam organization. Do no use! Holds people's accounts hostage until they pay up.

They betrayed their members by locking them out of their profiles without any warning and demand money to log in again. Not to be trusted at all. They broke all the promises they made to the community. It is all about money now.

This community used to be so good. But as it has been sold to the financial market years ago it lost its essence. Not worth it paying for this. Everybody ran into bewelcome.com. Do the same
