Couchsurfing... Is horrible. Cant recommend what so ever. The people on ot are freeloaders The hosts are perververts The local community is low key nationalist and rasist :D I will be relying on airbnb ..

Le site devenu payant pendant le covid m'a escroquée de 56 euros pour une "certification à vie" sans me prévenir que c'était payant!!! En 2 clicks, j'ai été débitée, je ne savais pas que j'allais payer, ni combien. Il l'ont fait en utilisant mes coordonnées bancaires transmises lors du paiement de l'abonnement annuel...... Je n'ai pas encore réussi à être remboursée car ils m'ont dit qu'ils ne remboursaient plus depuis le covid. Je les ai menacé de les poursuivre et ils ont cessé de répondre à mes e- mails. Je suis en contact avec une association de défense de consommateurs et leurs avocats... Je compte bien récupérer mon argent!!! FUYEZ CE SITE DEVENU INDIGNE!!!!! Il y en a a d'autres. Une étoile est encore trop d'honneur pour ces escrocs!!!

As a person who’s used this app over the last 5 years of my life, I’m shocked! I’ve paid the monthly fee multiple times to help them stay afloat yet it still locks me out. Customer service is gone. It’s actually quite sad 😞 if you’re in groups on fb look out for some of the people creating a similar app to allow us to connect again.

ABSOLUTE SCAM. NOT EVEN THE SHADOW OF WHAT COUCHSURFING WAS MEANT TO BE!! Been contributing to Couchsurfing since 2012, had a direct debit set in 2015. Didn't like the twist the company took and canceled it after last year renewal, through the site, after not using for a good couple of years. This year they took the fee again, two days later tried to go online to cancel it again while opening a claim on Paypal because I already canceled it last year. I cannot access online account because there is another request for mandatory money just to go past to the account!

*UPDATE: Support refunded my verification fee, so might be still legit. My account and all information on it is still locked behind the paywall so still no chance to get all my contacts back. Letting them delete my account now. Turned into an absolute SCAM! I got a renewal message for verification. I tried for at least an hour to get it cancelled but the links provided only put me into a loop. So the renewal payment took place anyway. Now I tried to login to my account I get a message I need a subscription to be able to login! So, on top of my (unwanted) verification fee I have to pay even more to MAYBE be able to stop my verification subscription! Someone seems very determined to milk this cow to death, completely destroying a once great community.

Ich war bis vor einigen Jahren recht häufig Couchsurfing-Gastgeberin in Berlin und habe in dieser Zeit alles erlebt: schöne Tage und gute Gespräche mit Gästen aus aller Welt und jeden Alters, aber leider auch sexuelle Anmache bis Bedrängung und pornografische SMS lange nach dem Aufenthalt, 3 Diebstähle in meiner Wohnung (obwohl ich die Personen nie alleine in meiner Wohnung ließ), unsaubere Menschen, die sich nicht mal nach dem WC-Gang die Hände wuschen, beharrliche Stehpinkler trotz "Einweisung" beim Willkommen, usw. Vor allem der letzte Diebstahl, der von der jungen brasilianischen Studentin "aus gutem Hause" hinterher auch noch frech geleugnet und meiner angeblichen "Vergesslichkeit" zugeschrieben wurde, hat mich dann veranlasst, die Mitgliedschaft zu beenden. Immerhin war CS nach einigem Hin und Her bereit, dieses Mitglied zu sperren, so dass sie zumindest unter ihrem wirklichen Namen nicht mehr in Erscheinung treten konnte. Als Gast habe ich Gastfreundschaft in D und F genossen, aber auch lieblos hingeworfene Matratzen auf dem Boden erlebt, mit einem alten Sitzkissen für den Kopf, ohne Frühstück oder nettes Gespräch.
