Horrible service, very rude staff, lack of knowledge. I have more than 200 positive references, 0 negative references. And I've donated more than €60 to CS, and I've convinced so many people to join and pay CS, and I've done so many activities through CS, in the end they deleted my account because I blocked few unwanted people on CS, and when I contacted them, they reply: I'm no longer welcome to use CS. No more explanation, as simple as that. That's why CS has died so quickly, cuz of your lack of knowledge staff.

I charged 60USD just for verification without letting me know that it is happening. it was not written that they are going to charge me for verification!!! and this is the respond I got from support after asking for refund: You should have been able to see how much Verification costs!

They charged 56 Euros misleading me to believe it was a "Verification of account". It was not stated ANYWHERE that 1) it was a payment 2) the payment amount is 56 euros. The website has been designed to purposfully mislead and so make profit. Be very very careful with this site, it seems quite malicious.

They are charging hefty sum without explicit approval from the user under the guise of verification. I was charged INR 4,500 without even once indicating or prompting that they were going to deduct any sums. This is fraudulent practice.

The site is now Pay2Win only. If you're not paying couch surfing a subscription you can't use the site anymore. It's disgraceful to ask for £13.49 PY or £2.79 PCM. My options are now either pay the money, delete my account or deactivate my account. Do you know how much money that is if all members have to pay this to actually use the site? Not happy at all. Absolutely disgraceful for them to even ask for such a high amount.

Hi! They were misled me also with the verification fee. I am from Europe, but US people, please report this website to the police!!!! I can report them too, but it's an american website, so I think my country won't bother with this... I registrated in Couchsurfing, then I also made a mistake like most of you in here. I wanted to verify myself, and I gave my credit card data to the site. They didn't mention anywhere, that they will charge me!!!! Then they charged me 56 EUR!!!! I reported it to my bank, but they can't do anything against this. I wrote to Couchsurfing support service, they wrote me back they won't get refund, and I should enjoy the community! Well, thanks, I won't trust in this website anymore. I blocked my credit card because of this, because I have heard, some people were charged again! My bank will send me a new credit card for 5 EUR! So thanks, I had to pay 61 EUR for nothing!

The idea itself is amazing (I have been using it for years, mainly hosting people). Unfortunately the platform is full of bugs and the customer support is the worst I have ever seen. I have paid to get verified last 13th May and until today (14th September) not only my account doesn't show as verified yet but nobody has ever replied my inquiries.

Never give this company your credit card they are literal thiefs. I wanted to verify my account (which they make seem like something you have to do to use the service). They ask for your credit card (which you think is free or will have small fees of 2$ ) Then I get a 60$ charge receipt by email! 4 minutes after I immediately contact them for a refund. To which they respond"We do not offer refunds sinceMay,2020." I contested the charge. AVOID!
