CouchsurfingReviews of couchsurfing.com

I had used Couchsurfing in the past with no issues so I did not bother checking the reviews when I applied again for the membership. I wish I did. Like many other people, they charged me a lifetime verification fee that was never approved on my end. They never mentioned that there was a fee for the verification and it is only when I got the receipt via email that i found out. I sent them an email right away to complain but of course, I did not get any answers. A very sneaky and unethical way of making money. I will never use this website again.

Terrible company. It's just a scam. Beware of the "identity confirmation", it's just an excuse to charge your credit card. Right now I'm demanding a refund and the website just says they don´t do them.

The biggest scammer you never heard of. They set the site up to make you pay 56 euros in the same way those cheap airlines try to make you think some payments are mandatory. I got zero service. If they knew they were a service, they would give me my refund that I asked for the second the payment was made. I thought I'd pay 2 euros, and I was charged 56 euros!!!

19.03.2023 Couchsurfing stole money from my bank card. I didn't link any card to my couchsurfing profile, i didnt subscribe for anything, i havent even used it for several years at all. But they somehow managed to withdraw from my card €9.97. I communicated with their support for about 3 weeks. It normally takes them 3-4 days to react to any request. The only answer i got from them was the following: they are not going to return my money as it is their policy! The charge you for something without your confirmation or agreement and then refuse to return the stolen money. Yesterday they informed me that they delete my ticket as they did for me everything they could - exactly and absolutely NOTHING! Dont try to use Couchsurfing. In 21 century with all the apps, social Networks and media it is easy to find friends all over the world and Couchsurfing is an obsolete and unnecessary, especially with their peculiar attitude to people who they steal money from.

I was a verified member had many nice reviews from my guests suddenly was removed from the platform can't even inform those who I accepted. Ulrike April 2023 They refunded my yearly fee which I recently paid

Couchsurfing used to be great before COVID. My experience is the same as everyone. You are immediately locked out of your account and first asked to pay a small fee of 49baht which I thought was fine but then without any verification you are charged around 90$ which is a HUGE SCAM. They are just scamming people now. Make sure to call your credit card after and submit a fraud report to get your money back

You download app, sign up, and they immediately promote you to "verify" your account, after you click it, there is mass of text with all the benefits of that verification and without any piece of information that it will cost you 60$. Then they ask you to write you card details which look as if will take and return small charge like other services do. But after you click "verify with card" you will be charged for 60 USD without any notice or chnace to refuse!!! Furthermore they "refund policy" says that you cannot return money for this verification. It is a scam.

They consistently rob people of 59chf without informing them
