I have not used this service in over a decade, now I am getting emails that they are trying to charge my CC (Luckily its an old canceled CC), Got a second email that they want to verify me. I have no interest in their service. Be careful with them

In short, their failure to act on members' notifying them that one of their members was a rapist resulted in more women being raped by that same Couchsurfing member. What's more, today I got a "donotreply" e-mail from them telling me, "We tried to renew your Couchsurfing Contribution recently, but the payment method you used to originally Contribute no longer works." This shows how shady the organization is. First, you don't try to renew a one-time contribution. That's called theft. Second, this is likely just a lazy attempt to bring in some revenue from generous members.

LIke many others, I was once a member of couchsurf but haven't use it in years. Today they tried to charge my credit card for a "membership" that was never agreed and did not even exist when I first joined. They are clearly scraping the barrel with tactics that are bordeline scam. Stay away from them.

I received a random email from this bunch of fraudsters saying '' Oops tried to take payment, but your card didn't work '' - As a founding pioneer member it really pains me to see this once fantastic organisation turned into a fraudsters parodise run by thieving scum. I haven't used it from the day the founding members were overthrown as you could see the writing on the wall, and now it has virtually no active members just ghost profiles to make it look like they have a thriving membership to aid in the con that It's something worth joining - AVOID at all cost.

Después de tanto tiempo cediendo y publicando información en la CS (no olvidar que si no es por nuestra información personal, sofás, vehículos, tiempo y demás, estas plataformas no existirían). Ahora entro en Couchsurfing y me dan la bienvenida con dos botones de pago y un link para descargarte la información personal. Creo que hay infinidad de modelos de negocio online (publicidad, puntos intercambio, win-win,... ) antes que hacer pagar unilateralmente a los principales proveedores de contenido de la plataforma y más cuado no és un negocio para nosotros. En fin, se acabó

They stole money from my account run away

Watch out. This people try to trick you to make a 56€ charge to your credit card without your knowledge. Keep your personal data away from them. They are bordering the scam. Somebody should report them for fraud. They simply ask you to "verify your identity" and when you click the button you find out about the charge. Really dodgy.
