Cottman of LouisvilleReviews of cottmanoflouisville.com

Cottman has set the bar high for other repair shops to reach....They take the time to examine your problem, so there are no surprises when the job is complete. Their prices are fair....the work is done in a timely manner....I looked to them to give me a hand in making my daughters auto reliable/safe...they extended their arm. I have no doubt they treat all customers the same....Without reservation, I would highly recommend Greg and staff at Cottman. Bob Cooper - Shelbyville, KY.

I took my son's recently purchased 2001 Mustang after getting a quote on work from another shop in S. Indiana. I thought the other quote from Towrey's was substantial at over $1200.00 for just front brakes and calipers. Cottman's did a complete safety check, computer check, and loosened the passenger front and rear caliper. Total charge was for just labor of 90 minutes, including at least two road tests (before and after). They verified the pads, rotors, and calipers were all still in good shape. The issue was more with the car sitting for several months. They don't do tires or exhaust, but if you have any mechanical issues, I trust Cottman's to provide great service at reasonable prices. No need to get 2nd opinions from others. Those reading this may have a place they go to, but I highly suggest you give them a try and trust them as I did for my 16yr old son's safety. I'd pay a toll to go there from Indiana. Well worth it.

Cottman of Louisville was very and graciously helpful to me when i had car trouble. They diagnosed the problem and were honest about the solution. They let me keep my car on their premises until i made up my mind about the repair costs. I have opted for a used rather than new transfer case for my car (a gamble on my part) and will service my car at another place. But, Greg, at Cottman's was forever understanding and, again as I said, he was totally helpful to me while I figured out where to get my car repaired. I will certainly consider Cottman's whenever I have an automobile need.

I recently had an issue with my transmission where I would have intermittent issues with my automatic transmission (1996 Jeep Cherokee) and went to Cottman to see if they could troubleshoot the car. Of course, when I went to have it checked out at that time the car decided to behave normally and they could find no error codes associated with the trans. 2 weeks later on a Friday my car started to show the symptoms and called late that afternoon and asked if I could stop by quickly as the car may or may not show the problems if I waited till Monday. They had no problem with me bringing it by even though it was just before closing time. They were able to get the error code this time and I explained that I was going to need the car for the weekend but I would bring it by on Monday to have them do a more thorough continuity check. I dropped the car off late morning Monday. They were able to get to my vehicle Tuesday and explained that I required a replacement solenoid as the car appeared to be staying in a higher gear instead of automatically down shifting to a lower gear. The solenoid was replaced and a new filter (and transmission fluid) was put in at that time as well. The service couldn't be any better. I highly recommend Cottman's for you automatic transmission repair. Thanks Greg and Steve. Markus

They give me a free estimate and when beyond my expectations.

If you are looking for a shop to get the job done and be 100 % honest and very responsive, look no further. Called the shop and they responded to me within 30 Minutes on a busy Monday morning. They did not charge me to analyze the problem, they got to work immediately and reported all the prices and other small repairs needed for the work that got done an entire clutch swap, they charged me a very fair price. Lastly they were very timely, the whole process was done in a week.

During a complete and expensive rebuild of my transmission, they failed to repair the existing leaks in the lines from the transmission cooler. I took my truck to my mechanic for service and he was surprised to see the leaks because this was the reason they sent me to Cottman in the first place.

dealer misdiagnosed my issue. cottman saved me time and money
