After searching numerous sunglass shops at the beach and not finding the style I wanted (Cheeca), I rolled the dice and ordered a pair online during the Black Friday weekend sale. The ordering process was easy and the sunglasses came quickly (though the product box was just floating around in a larger shipping box with zero protective paper or peanuts). The glasses despite being a womens frame were huge on my face (not their fault) but more importantly looked nothing like the photos online. The turtle shell frame was so dark they looked black. The details of the lighter color were almost non existent, hence my one star review. The frames also felt cheap and flimsy for the price. It was nothing like the image online. I returned them immediately and was sent a UPS label with free shipping. The ordering and return experience would have resulted in 5 stars but the product (aka the most important part) unfortunately left much to be desired.

Bad Customer Service …
Not a good experience with customer service. Always heard good things. Didn’t need customer service until my fourth pair got a crack in a lens. No help from them at all. Won’t be buying another pair from them.

Second Failure. Updated 1/6/24 - Not the Costa of Past
Update 1/6/24 - I received a replacement pair of frames after my last pair failed. One week after receiving the new pair, they broke in the exact same place as previous pair. My lenses were checked for proper size and fit and they were properly made. This is an obvious manufacturer defect with the new Chineese made frames.
Original review - I have owned over 10 pair of Costa glasses, both prescription and sun. Costa was purchased by Luxottica (a large conglomerate) a few years back. The prescription frames I just received are now made in China where my previous frames were made in Japan. I still have all of my old frames (some of which were worn for 2+ years) and didn’t have a single problem with them. My new frame broke in less than a week. After some research, I found that Luxottica is the same conglomerate that brought down Oakley - the same quality problems that Oakley is now experiencing, Costa is starting to experience. On close inspection, the frames were not the same, and the China manufactured frames were obviously inferior. No more Costas for me. Bummer.

Non existent after sales service in Australia
After 3 years of use for fishing, the rubber nosepads on my Blackfins both detached rendering the sunglasses unusable. Not an uncommon defect from what I’ve seen. That being unacceptable on its own.
I tried contacting Costa customer service here in Australia to source some new nose pads and received no assistance whatsoever. I’ve realised since Luxottica took over distribution of Costa Sunglasses, the after sales service here in Australia is non existent. No spare parts or repairs available.
Staying well away from Costa now and giving Smith Optics a go. Much better after sales support, what you expect from any premium sunglasses brand!

Ordered RX tuna alley glasses
Ordered RX tuna alley glasses. First pair scratched within days of cleaning with Costa provided cloth. Received replacement pair and same story. Do not buy prescription sunglasses from Costa. I’ve been buying costa sunglasses for 10 years and have been a loyal supporter but never again. Terrible product and experience for $760 sunglasses.

NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE
There was a Black Friday sale offer on COSTA DEL MAR, and the delivery time for it was 13 business days, which seemed reasonable to me, so I proceeded with the purchase and paid with my debit card. When the 13 days passed, I inquired through the website chat since I didn't have a tracking number. They told me that my purchase was being manufactured in Italy and that it was normal for it to take a bit longer, assuring me that I would receive the tracking information when the product arrived in my country. The next day, the company charged me again for the purchase, essentially duplicating the charge. I called the bank, and they said the issue was with the store, advising me to request proof of purchase from them, and they would assist in reporting the duplicate charge. I contacted the store's customer service and requested an invoice or any document to verify the purchase. I asked about the duplicated payment, and they told me to check with the bank, which seemed odd. After 48 hours, they sent me an "INVOICE" that didn't contain any information confirming it was my purchase—no name, amount, date, or order number. I called them back to ask why they had sent me that document, to which they replied that it was a generic invoice and that they couldn't provide a payment receipt because the product hadn't crossed the border yet. I got so frustrated that, to be honest, I did raise my voice a bit because the customer service representative wouldn't let me speak and express my frustration that they weren't providing a solution. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but she denied it and hung up on me, and continued to divert my calls when I tried again. I had to use my wife's phone, call customer service, and she answered? What? Do they only have one person in their customer service? I calmed my voice and tried to reason with her. This time, communication flowed better, and I explained my situation, and it seems like she understood...
Today is the 21st day since I placed my order. I don't have a tracking number, let alone the product I purchased. I don't have an invoice or proof of purchase, and I don't have my money back. I don't have any information on when to expect anything. It's like I bought my product from an indie store in a third-world country. How is this possible? I had COSTA DEL MAR ranked above brands like Ray-Ban, Maui Jim, or Oakley. How is it possible to be deceived in this way?

Can't buy replacement parts
Can't buy replacement parts. I bought a set of Jose sunglasses. One of the temple arms broke and Cost will not sell replacement parts because the model is "discontinued". They offered me a set of sunglasses as a replacement however the price was only 20 Euro less than if I would buy them in store.
If you buy a set, make sure they are not discontinuing it.

Garbage for a high price
I purchased a pair of their sunglasses they had a little rubber things on where the nose rest is. They came off frequently when I tried to contact them over 10 times through their website it took so long I didn't have time to sit there and wait so I was not able to actually get a resolution, I wound up throwing them in the garbage because that's what they are for what they charge I suggest looking elsewhere there's plenty of other companies that make a quality product and actually have customer service!!
