Wondering why Colonial Penn hasn't increase there pay out.
Wondering why Colonial Penn hasn't increased there life insurance policy. They sendout brochures and plantlets through the mail stating the cost of a funeral and other final expenses have increasing. They stated we should know. But, my questions is with inflation so high why haven't they increase our pay out upon death. Yes, its only $ 9.99 a month, but they know that the funeral expenses and cremation have increased. So, why haven't they concerned an increase to the policy holder pay out. As customer I believe they should concerned increasing the pay out to higher payout. As inflation increases our expense with funeral and inflation has increased. What can Colonial Penn do for it customers. So my question is since I've been with them for many years what do they plan to do for there customers.

Nasty
I recently call Colonial Penn to get a quote for life insurance for me. The agent I spoke with was very rude, condescending, pushy and acted like I was getting on his nerve. Because of that experience, I will not get insurance from that company

I just wanted to warn anyone thinking…
I just wanted to warn anyone thinking about purchasing life insurance with Colonial Penn not to, because when it comes time to make a claim on you life insurance if you don’t make the claim right away from my experience, Colonial Penn will give you the run around.
I dealt with Colonial Penn for 3 months & Colonial Penn’s customer service number for 3 weeks before I got the checks for my Mother’s life insurance policies.
The last thing you should have to deal with when mourning a loved one, is dealing with getting run around by the life insurance company that you were a customer with since May of 2012. The customer service should be understanding & help settle your claim as soon as possible & neither is what I got from Colonial Penn’s customer service.
I’m trying to give the abbreviated version of my experience of sending my claim twice via faxing & both 1st class & Priority Mail & dealing with Colonial Penn’s customer service number 6 times dealing with their virtual assistant, Cora, who’s not very user friendly, especially if the virtual system is going to be dealing with seniors, 6 customer service agents, & 2 supervisors. As far as I’m concerned I shouldn’t have had to make any of those phone calls, cause according to Colonial Penn’s website I should have heard from their claims associate 1 - 2 weeks after Colonial Penn received my claim, which didn’t happen & as far as I’m concerned that’s way too long to hear back from Colonial Penn after they receive your claim.
Then having to make 6 calls to Colonial Penn’s customer service number for 3 weeks is ridiculous.
Between being told the claim was received, the check was sent, to then the money was sent to the state, because it was considered abandoned, to then it wasn’t considered abandoned, checking with Colonial Penn’s claims department to see if the funds were still there, to the lack of the 3 not returned phone calls, to finally getting the checks after 3 months, all I can say is don’t do it to yourself.

Made a mistake bye putting a stop…
Made a mistake bye putting a stop payment on a death beneficiary, then reissued it, unfortunately because of timeliness and their mess up were facing eviction and can't afford groceries, I would never put my loved ones in the hands of this company

Do NOT use this company
Do NOT use this company, nor give them your information! I simply inquired online for the $1 and for $35 it was for $4,000 of coverage with a 2 year waiting period. They continued to take $29 out of my account after I canceled on the phone 2 days after. I canceled over the phone 2 more times. Then I receive letter after letter stating I have to cancel in writing. This company bullies elderly and vulnerable people into buying false coverage. Do not even inquire because they don't stop their tactics. It's just another shakedown on our elderly patients. And taking social security money that clearly they need. 1 star is too high. They should be run out of business for false advertising and elderly extortion!

Antiquated computer system & procedures
Fortunately, I have not yet had to use this insurance but I now am thinking of replacing it withanother policy. My complaints are as follows:
1) coverage is in units - I wanted a policy for $20k - I had buy multiple units totalling $19,975. 2) customer service uses an antiquated computer system where any changes made by phone do not reflect immediately - takes 24 hrs. Customer has to call back a 2nd time to verify the change was made 3) I need to add a contingent beneficiary and I was told a form would be sent to me via snail mail for me to complete and return via snail mail. No email with e-sign available and not able to do over phone with a recorded verbal authorization.

Shady Company…
My review is the same as everyone elses. 9.95 a month is a SCHEME to get your money. They will only pay out around 2k if you pass. They are SHADY about telling you what one unit covers because of this. You have to give them your phone number and email first so if you decide you don't want it they can harass you about it. If they are still harassing you send them a certifirf cease and desist letter. They have to stop calling or you can get them for harassment.
