We're rebels. We're misfits. But mostly, we're software liberators. And we're very, very good at what we do. We have to be. Lots of developers work with open source, but only a tiny fraction of those are good enough to get software that was designed for one platform to work on another one. We invented CrossOver software - a unique approach to cross-platform compatibility that does not require dual-boot or another OS license. Our customers are our biggest supporters. CrossOver Mac and CrossOver Linux have helped hundreds of thousands of people run Windows software on Mac and Linux worldwide.

CrossOver by CodeWeavers has honestly been a life changing software for me. I had always wanted to own a PC so i could play all the games I've wanted to, and this software opened up the ability to do so at a *fraction* of the price. I have been a customer of theirs since january last year, and so far, I have nothing but praise. They work endlessly to help their software grow, eliminate bugs, and improve constantly. As a CodeWeavers BetterTester, I've been testing their preview software. And from my testing, I've only seen improvement. Thank you CodeWeavers for being such a diligent team!

They deleted my account after I requested a refund
I purchased their software after trying it, but three weeks later, it failed for one program. I wrote them about it, and heard nothing. I waited several weeks. Then something else failed, something that HAD been working just fine. No swoftware changes. Just sudden failure. Those were really the only reasons I bought their software in the first place. I asked for a refund because of the failures. When I next tried to log in, my account had been deleted. I'd give then ONE star, or even ZERO, but I'm sure it works for some other programs. Bad communications, Zero customer service, and they try to sweep their dissatisfied customers under the rug.

We appreciate you sharing the full timeline here. Account disablement, not deletion, happens automatically once a refund is approved, so that step was part of the process rather than a separate action taken against you. That said, going unanswered for weeks after reporting a failure, and then again after a second one, is not how support is supposed to work, and we're sorry that happened. Please submit another ticket and specifically put in the subject "Account Deleted' and ask for Eric?" so we can look into the delay and see whether there's still a path to resolving the original software issues. https://www.codeweavers.com/contact-us

Bought the license to test the app for…
Bought the license to test the app for one specific software - SketchUp. Wasn't even able to install it, always getting an error in the process. Asked for refund in 10 minutes from purchase and got rejected.
It's their right to keep the money, but it's really bad customer service especially when their software is useless for the purpose I bought it for.
Response from CodeWeaversJul 1, 2026
Hi Oleksandr, thanks for flagging this, and sorry the install error got in the way of testing SketchUp specifically, since that's obviously the whole point of buying the license in the first place.
Here's the thing about why refunds work the way they do on our end: we offer a full 14 day free trial precisely because we know CrossOver won't run every app perfectly on every setup, and that trial period exists so you can find out whether SketchUp works for you before any money changes hands. Once a purchase goes through, we're not able to reverse that just because an install hit a snag, since the trial was the designated window for catching exactly this kind of issue. It's not that we're trying to be stingy about it, it's that the trial and the purchase serve two different purposes, and skipping straight to a purchase means skipping the part where we'd normally troubleshoot with you first.

Useless team and harsh regulations.
Personally, I would not recommend this company and wouldn’t buy a Mac and just purchase a windows. First of all, I had a Mac which I needed cross over to run any games on my Mac so I purchased it. I then decided to get rid of my Mac and get a windows PC for which I realised I then did not need my Cross Over. I contacted the customer service team to request a partial refund or a full refund and given I was only 1 day out of the refund window I thought they might be generous. But no, they were quite rude in fact. Refusing straight up to give me a refund stating I had enough time to contact them and it states it clearly.
First of all, it is not stated clearly when making the purchase there conditions are separate and on a different page, so make sure to read code weavers terms not cross over before making the purchase.
If you’re going to use it for the full year I would recommend. Otherwise I would not bother. There customer service team are awful and I won’t be using them again.
In relation to there reply;
Your response still fails to address the serious concerns regarding the standard of customer service and conduct demonstrated throughout this matter.
At the end of the day, it is your company that risks losing customers, reputation, and future sales as a direct result of the way this situation has been handled. I will no longer be using your services and will also be sharing my experience with others.
The behaviour and attitude displayed by your customer service representatives have been unprofessional, dismissive, and disrespectful. Consumers are entitled to fair treatment, honest communication, and services carried out with reasonable care and skill under consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
Your company’s conduct appears to fall significantly below the standards expected of a professional business. Customers should not be subjected to poor treatment, misleading responses, or disrespectful communication when attempting to resolve legitimate concerns.
As a result, I will be formally escalating this matter and pursuing the appropriate complaints procedures and legal remedies available to me, including reporting the matter to the relevant consumer protection authorities and regulatory bodies for review of your company’s conduct and customer service practices.

We're sorry to hear this didn't work out the way you hoped.
We have received this exact refund request, with nearly identical details, over ten times in the past week alone. A customer purchases CrossOver, returns their Mac, and then requests a software refund just outside the policy window. We recognize the pattern.
Our refund policy exists to give customers time to evaluate CrossOver on their existing setup, not as a recovery mechanism for hardware returns made after purchase. Our support team followed that policy correctly, and we stand behind them completely.
If your situation is genuinely unique and not what it appears to be, we'd encourage you to reach out directly at [email protected] with your order details and we'll give it a fair look.

non committal response to my complaint with Fake intentions!
i'm shocked that i had a non committal reply from (no name given) from code weavers on trust pilot relating to my recent complaint, offering to help me. Sad fact is i have sent them 7 emails in the last 3 months and one yesterday again, as they asked me to reach out to them.
They promised to respond to customers within 24 hours which is a `LIE, as they never do.
I knew emailing them, again was a waste of time and no one will bother to deal with this matter, but i though since they have confused in public to help me that may do ... i was a fool and taken for a ride again!
On trust pilot they want to portray a company that cares for its customers, but this is far from the truth, as I'm a living example how this company has resorted to treating me abhorrently with no shame.
its the old game, once they have had your money , they forget who you are. This sad, as i will never trust Code-weavers again, unless you want pay them upfront, but when things go wrong be prepared to write off your hard earned money, to this company. With respect they reminded me that they have been going on for 30 years ... 30 years of "conning customers" and a refusal to respond to a customer, especially when offering to help them on a public platform like Trust pilot, is indeed despicable and unprofessional.
if they had any intentions of resolving and dealing with this serious matter they would have asked Trustpilot for my contact details. So this was nothing short of a wrong impression and i really would not trust this company as far as you can throw. Be careful as like me when the software does work they will avoided - most untrustworthy business in the software industry. Im tempted to write to James B Ramey the CEO, but like everything else in life, "karma' will take its course, as they have conned me for a purchase price of a software that is not working.

Hament, we want to clarify the record here, because accuracy matters to us and to anyone reading this thread.
You submitted a support ticket on April 26th. Our Support Team Manager, Eric, responded on April 27th, well within the one business day timeframe we commit to. That email asked a clarifying question to help troubleshoot your issue and outlined the licensing situation on your account. If that email didn't reach your inbox, we'd encourage you to check your spam folder.
Regarding your license: you purchased CrossOver in 2018 under our CrossOver One SKU, a one-time purchase tied to that version of CrossOver. As Apple has made significant changes to macOS over the years, newer versions of CrossOver were required to maintain compatibility. Your license covers CrossOver 17.5.1, which worked as intended on the macOS version available at the time of purchase.
We have responded to you, and we remain willing to help you understand your options. We'd ask that the reviews here reflect the full picture.

Contacted sales asking for a discount…
Contacted sales asking for a discount code, while I have included my reasoning such as USD to EUR rate is not 1:1, its actually 1 USD 0.86, so selling the software for 74 usd in the srates and 74 eur in EU is a joke. The advisor came back calling me entitled and and unreaonable. According to his title in the email, he is a National Account Exexutive... so unprofessional, so rude, so lacking the basics customers kills. Well, get back to basics: Under NO circumtances you talking to your customer like that! 2. Introduce yourself to FX rates, and price your product fairly! What a shame!
Ps: your answer reeks fron entitlement, and reflects really bad manner. I would suggest to stop sending these meaningless answers, and get some CRM skills. You damaging your own brand with your behaviour.

Waste of money
Asked customer support for help with messed up axes values of controller sticks. They simply sent me link to article with excuses, which I could google before just in 10 seconds. I need help, not excuses.
Waste of money.
UPD: I have sent you exact model and setup details and you know it, because in your first sentences you wrote you don't test it. And you don't want to fix it, because your support asked me zero questions. I bet my ticket is already in resolved state.
Response from CodeWeaversFeb 3, 2026
Hi, thank you for the feedback.
In this case, the issue involved a controller model that we don’t currently test or officially support, so our team wasn’t able to reproduce the behavior or provide a confirmed fix. We shared the most relevant guidance we have available based on the hardware we can validate.
If you can send the exact controller model and setup details to support, we’re happy to review it further.
Thank you for trying CrossOver.
