There are so many mentors who are absolutely not fit for the request I made. Most of them were NodeJS devs, and they confidently declared that they were proficient at rust despite having absolutely nothing on their profile regarding rust. When I asked about something remotely proving their proficiency they suddenly stopped responding. The people on the platform are unmoderated and the mentors are trying to exploit unaware people seeking legitimate help.

Hard to find a person who will deal in a straightforward manner.

Their support team is horrible. If I could give negative stars I would. They pick and chose when their own Terms of Service help them apply. If one of their mentors breaks Terms of Service it doesn't matter. But if the customer breaks Terms of Service (asking for a refund outside of a 5 day window) suddenly ToS matters.

I hired two developers through Codementor.io for a critical, time-sensitive software development project totalling over $4,000 plus additional Codementor fees. Both developers were tasked simultaneously with different parts of the same urgent project. Despite clearly defined milestones and daily progress meetings, it became painfully clear after 9 days that neither freelancer had the necessary expertise or skill level to meet our agreed-upon deliverables. As a result, I was forced to cancel both contracts on the very same day. While Codementor promptly issued a full refund for one freelancer within 48 hours—which was appreciated—the other freelancer (Tope) initiated a dispute. This led to an unnecessarily long, confusing, and poorly managed dispute resolution process. Codementor’s eventual decision to award the freelancer 50% of the contract value ($1,000) was entirely unjustified, considering he completed only 12% (1 of 6 phases) of the project. It is now more than 30 days since the original cancellation, and 7 days since Codementor agreed to refund me just 50%. Shockingly, no funds have been confirmed or received to date. The platform’s communication throughout has been inconsistent, inadequate, and at times completely unresponsive. I am deeply aggrieved by this experience. Offering $1,000 to an unqualified freelancer who grossly misrepresented his skills and capabilities, merely for "trying," is an affront. Codementor has not only caused financial harm but has severely damaged my trust in their platform, escrow system, and customer support. I strongly advise prospective users—especially those with high-value or specialist projects—to reconsider using Codementor until they demonstrate significant improvements in transparency, fairness, and responsiveness in handling disputes. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Codementor.io.

It was awful like a nightmare. I asked them to reset 2FA and answered their questions. But they kept on saying that my answers were incorrect and suspended my account without withdrawing the balance available in the account. Really a bad experience. Please don't use this platform.

they block my account with 1000$ in and take many many day to approve the account after sent them documents and credit card photos. don't recommend to buy here. after 2 days still not anything.

Codementor gives an opportunity to earn truly good value of your service. Honest people and straight forward system. No clever ways to rob freelancer's of their hard earned money, unlike the cunning guys at Upwork. So, why do I still give a one star. This is why: They have earned one star only because of their 'support'. Despite repeated emails they would not respond to your request and keep you waiting with total silence, which is very frustrating.
