To start, the actual movers were great, this is not a reflection on them.
The initial quote was great and well below all other quotes we received. During the "inventory check" which is 2 days before the movers showed up, we went through all the stuff we were moving, the amount of boxes etc, and they raised our price $1400.. Ok, we took it on the chin.
When the movers showed up, they said there is no way its is only going to be this much. They then again raised the price by another $2000. We had to be out of the home in 2 days, so we were stuck with the upcharge. We called them and they offered us a measly $100 credit for the hassle. Whats the point in doing 2 inventory checks and quoting us when the final price is way more than what we were quoted initially. Absolute scam of a company, and we will never use them again.

Never ever use this group of criminals
This is the absolutely most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. Everything they tell you is lies. One lie after another. You are on their time schedule not yours. They apparently are a non-asset based company that gleefully steals your money they pick up and deliver at their whims and wishes. My 11 thousand dollar quote ended up after the delivery to 20 thousand because they could not find anyone to deliver to my area and they did not have anyone in the DFW area to pick up for the delivery. Don't bother shipping heirlooms with this trogladite company they break things because they have a weight limit at the pay off. Just beak your items yourself. They lied about the price, They lied about having assets, They lied about every date arrangement pick up/ & delivery. Search elsewhere for movers Hire reputable Companies that have not changed their way of doing business fifteen times. Hire a Company that has not had to change their DOT Carrier number Multiple times because of complaints. Eric our first point of contact made promises never kept because they were intentional in their deception. I have stopped dealing with these criminals for awhile now I am writing this review to helps others not make the same mistake. D.L.B.

They are HORRIBLE. We had them jump us from 4.5 to 7 to 11K when they finally got onsite. They were given the exact dimensions of all prior yet got there and added whatever they could. AFTER kicking them out they proceeded to call, knock on my door late at night and make deals.
NEVER EVER even CONSIDER using this company

moving from NY to Fl and calling around…
moving from NY to Fl and calling around to get quotes. Called and the guy gave me a quote. Was badmouthing other companies even Uhaul. I told him I am just getting prices now. He was very rude and hung up on me. The price seemed fair to be honest, but after he was rude and hung up I would never go with them

"Do NOT consider Coastal Moving Services
"Do NOT consider Coastal Moving Services for your move. Extremely poor customer service and is dishonest/shady about costs. I got quote estimates for my cross country move from over a dozen moving companies and went with Coastal because they provided the cheapest estimate. I was moving a 10x10x10 storage unit (1000cu ft max) from MD to WA. Steve Sanchez gave me the final estimated quote of 350cu ft for $3900. I sent the exact dimensions and a photo of everything that is in the storage unit and SPECIFICALLY asked if everything in the photo would be included in the quote. Steve reassured me that "as long as you are not hiding another storage unit somewhere everything will fit in our truck with no hidden fees". He was either incompetent and misguided or intentionally lying to me as my move ended up costing a total of over $7k.
The contract allows for cancellation within a 72hour window, but the "inventory call" was done after that time so that when they increased the price I had no ability to cancel. I sent the same storage unit dimensions and picture to the inventory specialist and he added 100cu ft and $1000 to the quote. I texted Steve explaining my frustration with the price increase and lack of transparency, He sent a very apologetic message and admitted that he did reassure me and will "do my best to correct this, let me circle back with you after reviewing everything with the team". Never heard from him again after dozens of calls and text attempts.
Other complaints:
-Customer Service not apologetic or helpful during move process when quote was escalated
-They did not call the right number on move out day.
-Almost went to the wrong address after I verified 3x
-Moving team filled 750cu ft (not 450cu ft quoted) and charged an ADDITIONAL 4k. (how can you be 300cu ft and 4k off when you have exact dimensions and a picture?)
After months of complaints and calls to customer service, Brittanie was the only empathetic person who tried to help us. We were reimbursed 1k which was appreciated but not reflective of the original quote we were expecting. This is a public review
*EDIT: in response to Coastals reply:
-my husband Daniel called customer service to complain and we were finally escalated to management for a reimbursement after our move was done. During the move, I called and texted to report my frustrations countless times.
-while we did receive and appreciate a reimbursement, it still was not reflective of the original quote we were given and paid over 3k more than expected which is understandably still frustrating
-we did accept the reimbursement and agree not to sue or file any other claims. A public review of opinion is NOT a direct violation of said agreement.

We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. While we understand your frustration, we do want to clarify several important details and provide full context regarding your file.
Once your concerns were brought to our attention, a manager took over your file directly to ensure that your case received the highest level of review and attention. Our customer service team worked diligently to advocate on your behalf, and it was that same department who escalated your case for further billing review and compensation. To say customer service was unhelpful is simply not reflective of the facts or the level of effort our team put in to support you.
Our internal records confirm that Daniel spoke with a representative about the original refund offer of $800, at which point he expressed additional concerns. Rather than closing the case there, your file was returned to billing for a second review, resulting in an increased refund offer of $1,000. Daniel acknowledged and appreciated the efforts made to resolve the situation and accepted the revised refund.
Furthermore, we must respectfully remind you that prior to receiving this refund, you signed a settlement agreement. This agreement clearly states:
"No further claims – Client agrees not to pursue any further claims against Business arising from the Dispute, except as provided in this Agreement."
This public review is in direct violation of that signed and binding agreement. We always strive to find fair and reasonable resolutions, and your settlement was reached after careful review and extended effort on our part.
We understand the moving process can be stressful, and we sincerely regret any confusion or frustration you experienced along the way. However, we stand by the efforts made by both our customer service and management teams to resolve this issue and provide a solution that you ultimately accepted in writing.

Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. I was forced into a last minute cross state move so I expected it to be expensive but the broker mark-up for the move was $3500 in addition to the moving cost. My broker Gabriel promised to available the day of the move which he was not...he was out at a concert and then somehow went to church and was unavailable then also. He also didn't actually schedule the move and I had to call customer service to get it scheduled which made me miss my original flight back home. When the movers actually showed up they said the estimate was way understated and charged me an additional $1200. All in all to move 300 cubic feet of space (very small) ended up costing me over $6k. I was close to throwing all my things away and just rebuying but I had a fair amount of pictures and sentimental things so I didn't.
