these guys are classic bait and switch con artists. They provide a lowball estimate even when they agree to the item list then up charge the customer by 40% on moving day. Customer service is awful. They told me two trucks then showed up with one truck two hours late. A complete bunch of crooks that should be shut down immediately !!! what a terrible experience

A very dishonest company. They made it sound reasonable by providing a low estimate even after verify belongings. After poor communication and scheduling a one man crew shows up. He assesses our house and gets started. A another guy shows up a couple hours later and then they get in a fight in our front yard and he leaves. My son and I ended up helping move the remaining items. Once about 2/3 of our stuff is on the truck he tells us it will cost an extra $4300. After paying the extra money our things didn’t show up for three weeks. Looking back the sales guy just wanted to get a signed contract and first payment. The actual movers are contracted and would only accept cash. They were not professional at all.

Firstly, they are liars. they lied about literally everything. Their employee, if he’s even real, Stevan explicitly told me “they are not a broker” “we don’t offload your stuff or store it anywhere unless you ask” and they told me whatever I wanted to hear just for me to sign along the dotted line agreeing to 8600$. 2 days prior to pick up, they called. they gave me an incorrect list of items to move. which, the way they get you to sign is an unprofessional website that doesn’t fit the screen of the device you have to use to electronically sign, so you can’t actually read anything being sent. they raised the price to 14.2k and told me that they only charge for what goes on the truck, which is weird because even after taking things off the delivery list, the price actually increased to 14.8k and they attempted to charge me an extra 1000 for them to unload the truck. they wanted the payment before I could even see my stuff and when I raised concern they left with everything and refused to deliver for an extra 4 days. when I finally got my stuff from the company they hired without my knowledge, it’s all damaged especially my motorcycles. the employees hired either couldn’t, or wouldnt speak English and we were given no names. they also refused any official payments after they received 11099 since they wanted the remaining amount in cash so they could avoid taxes or because the staff hired was illegal. either way, now I have damaged furniture, a broken motorcycle, and no trust anymore. they also left half way through delivery forcing me to sign the receipt before seeing the rest of the damage. And they tried arguing/bullying me into saying it wasn’t damaged. OH and thankfully I have a camera because they shoved me into another bike scraping the back of it.

They showed up a day late—screwed up the estimate and tried to charge me a whole $1000 to take the stuff that was ALL INCLUDED in the the inventory list i provided TWICE to 2 different people. I had to argue with the movers for 15 minutes before they even started the job. I ended up having to take all the boxes myself—and only had them take SOME of the furniture so they couldn’t scam me with a “new” estimate. They didn’t introduce themselves, didn’t wrap half the furniture they moved, and didn’t listen to anything i said when it came to placing the furniture. I had to have furniture put in incorrect places because they didn’t bring anything or anyone besides two scrawny guys who spoke poor english couldn’t get a simple ikea armoire up a flight of stairs. Didn’t even bring a single tool to dissemble anything—had to even ask me to borrow a pen for my signature because they were so unprepared and so unprofessional. My $800 recliner they chose not to wrap is now stained all along the side of it because they couldn’t take one moment to handle anything with care. Coastal Moving Services just hires random carriers with no professional expertise and takes your money in the process. I could have trained two monkeys to help me better than this company did.

Please DO NOT book with this company! The estimate they give you will increase by over $1200 when the actual movers arrive. This company gives fake estimates and books third parties that can choose what they want to charge once they arrive. The sales agent you have will ignore you when you try to contact. When I went after them legally, they sent a FAKE refund receipt. Very fraudulent company, DO NOT BOOK. Would be 0 stars if I could. Alec Burklakoff was my agent, do not trust him, he lied about prices, the company and when I tried to call to verify things during my pickup, I was blatantly ignored.

Coastal Moving Services has left an extremely bad taste in my mouth after discussing my out-of-state move with them. They were open and committed to price matching with other moving companies that much is true. However, they fail to mention that by putting down what they claim is a completely "refundable" deposit to lock in your quote, they will keep a 10% for a "merchant processing fee", which is no small amount when you are discussing an out of state move. They were not upfront about this and frankly the bait and switch with pricing is highly disappointing and unprofessional.

This company is the absolute worst. They sell you one thing, but when they arrive at your home the price doubles. At first, they seem like the nicest people, offering discounts and everything, making you believe you’re getting a fair deal. They sell by item count, but once they show up, they suddenly say it’s actually by the truck space used. They are not trustworthy. You cannot rely on them. Our initial quote went from $2,800 to $7,000. It was the most horrible experience we’ve ever had. They will scam you.

If I could give this company 0 I would. I had booked them in the end of July for an August move. When I got the contract, I found that they would only take cash on day of moving. Then, within a 1/2 hour of booking them I started to see negative reviews that were so bad I could not ignore them. Within one hour after booking and giving them a deposit of $1600 I cancelled the booking. The contract stated that I had 72 hours to cancel and receive a refund. I cancelled well within that timeframe. Their customer service department told me they would send the cancellation to their booking department. When I called again they told me the money would be refunded in 2 days. When it was not, I emailed and they said the refund went through on Friday evening and would be there Monday. Did not happen. When I called one final time they told me to take it up with my bank. I did do that, when the bank got in touch with the company they said I was not a customer and did not give them a deposit, I had the wrong company. I guess I am lucky I cancelled or I would have been out the entire amount of over $5,000, not just the deposit. Please beware of this company. They are scam artists and do not follow their contracts!!!
