DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! Scammers! They will quote you this amazing price and tell you “this will all fit in so and so cubic feet” DO NOT BELIEVE THEM, I KID YOU NOT RUN, BLOCK THEM, DRIVE IT YOURSF OR SOMETHING BUT DO NOT GO WITH THEM.
I was told 4500 for 500 cubic feet, and mind you I live in a 4 bedroom home and I told them everything I have. Well fast forward to the day and they’re now telling oh you’ll need actually like 650 cubic feet and it’s now $8000. My husband starts his new job in 5 days so guess who got f’d over and scammed and had to just accept it especially since they said I can’t even get my deposit back. I kid you not, I don’t know where these 5 star reviews are coming from, RUN. Genuinely speaking, RUN.
Oh and if you want to speak to someone, the mover is going to say their boss is in a meeting and customer service is going to say well it was just an estimate. I understand it was an estimate but for the final price to be double and I’m not even getting double the space…. I’m getting scammed.
I don’t like leaving bad reviews because people need to feed their families but this company is so fraudulent they literally should not be working

Extremely disappointing experience - I would not recommend Coastal Moving Services.
My wife and I booked an interstate move with Coastal from Las Vegas, Nevada to Acworth, Georgia. On September 17, 2026, we received a $7,500 estimate and paid Coastal $3,625 upfront. Our pickup was scheduled for October 24–25.
Before booking, we also discussed transporting our Subaru Crosstrek and were quoted approximately $1,900. That was an important part of our moving plan.
After Coastal took our deposit, resolving the vehicle transport became extremely frustrating. I tried contacting them but didn't receive a timely response.
My wife then had to follow up repeatedly before we were eventually told their auto-transport department would not work within the approximately $1,900 budget we had discussed before we booked. They changed it to $2,400!
Communication was one of the biggest problems. We felt very well attended to when Coastal was trying to get our business and collect the deposit. Once problems arose, our experience changed completely.
Consumers should also understand that Coastal is a moving broker, not the company that actually transports your household goods. Their own paperwork states that Coastal is not a motor carrier and that another FMCSA-authorized carrier would perform the move. It also states that the document we received was an estimate and not the actual contract for moving services.
We later learned that our 1,949-mile move had an estimated delivery window of 12–17 business days from the first available delivery date, with Standard Service potentially taking even longer. This was not what we believed we were signing up for based on the sales process.
Because of the vehicle-transport issue, communication problems, and the overall difference between what we believed we were arranging and what we later learned the service involved, we canceled on October 3 — about three weeks before pickup.
Nothing had been packed, loaded, stored, transported, or delivered. Yet Coastal denied us any refund of the $3,625 we had paid.
What makes this especially frustrating is language Coastal publishes on its website: “We’re happy to work with you to find a fair solution. Options may include partial refund, compromise.” That was not our experience.
We tried to resolve this directly with Coastal, but instead of discussing a partial refund, compromise, or any other fair solution, they denied us any refund at all.
I understand their written agreement contains a cancellation policy, and I strongly encourage anyone considering Coastal to read every word before paying.
But when a company publicly says it is willing to work toward a fair solution, including a possible partial refund or compromise, I think customers can reasonably expect those options to at least be genuinely discussed. In our case, they flat-out refused.
We canceled roughly three weeks before pickup and before anyone touched our belongings, yet we are now fighting to recover our money. We have had to dispute the charge with our credit-card company and file a complaint with the FMCSA.
I am posting this because I do not want another family to go through what we are dealing with. If you are considering Coastal, get every promise in writing, understand that they are a broker rather than the actual mover, verify any vehicle quote separately, confirm the delivery timeline, and read the cancellation terms very carefully.
Based on my experience, I would absolutely not use Coastal Moving Services again and cannot recommend them.

Beware! Beware! Beware! Don't say I didn't warn you.
Beware! Beware! Beware! Scam alert.
Classic bait and switch if the worst kind. The salesperson a list of things to move. I offered him a video or pictures of what is moving. He kept saying no need. We know what we are doing. This is 1 bedroom move with 20 boxes: A dresser, a Kitchen cabinet, A China cabinet, computer desk, coffee, a queen bed, a small bookcase, and 20 boxes. They quoted me $2400 for said 470 Cubic Feet. including packing. His exact words "just open the door and they take care of everything. They even told me someone will call me from their "Quality Control 3 days ahead of time to go over everything. They never called. I was hoping we can do a video call or something to make sure we are on the same page. They never called. Well, on the day of the move they told me this requires 1200 cubic feet and there is an additional $3700. So instead of $2400 is now $6000. Of course I ended up with no choice. I was under tight schedule to start my new job in the new location. I mean I understand that was an estimate and maybe there will be 10% or 20% but 3 times as much. These days all these broker companies are scammers. They have you by your throat and surprise you on the day of the move when you have no choice.

Warning: Misleading and Predatory Sales Tactics!
My experience with Coastal Moving Services was extremely disappointing. Jimmy Mantai, the salesperson/coordinator I spoke with pushed me to book and pay immediately while on the phone to secure my moving date and receive a discount. I specifically asked about the cancellation policy and he reassured me the down payment was fully refundable within 72 hours, which gave me confidence to move forward. I canceled in less than 24 hours. Days later I find that they deduct a 10% fee from refunds. As a result, they kept $368. While the fee may be included in the contract, it was not disclosed during the booking call, despite the emphasis on the payment being “fully refundable.” Since cancelling, I have been unable to get a response from the coordinator assigned to my booking. I also tried to escalate the issue to the manager, Mike, but staff refused to connect me and were rude, snarky, and argumentative when I explained my issue and asked to speak with him (something tells me this happens often). If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Moving is stressful, book elsewhere and avoid this scam company.

Rapid express failures never recommend this company to anyone
First only two men showed up to offload the truck. This slowed down the process. 2 neither of the crew nor the driver had a printed inventory in hand to cross. Check each item as they came off. The truck they were unprepared, they did not have tools. Again, they were unprepared, and it strikes me as inexperienced. This is highly unprofessional, since we lost items and they can't be found, and they didn't use the inventory items left when the truck left. Because they didn't cross check the inventory list in fact, they left me. Two items that belonged to other people. When I pointed those two items out, they shrugged and left the items behind. So someone out there is missing their items as well. Now, this again is highly unprofessional, and it just bears witness to the fact that I can't have my stuff back, even though the driver who delivered my stuff to florida, found it took pictures of it and sent it to me. This is absolutely the worst company. I've ever been involved with. They love to comment about veterans. I'm a veteran. And if this is how veterans are treated quite frankly, it's embarrassing and disgusting. The best illustration I can give was when I called transit on rapid express and brought the issue to the customer service representative's attention. Her comment was, what do you expect me to do? I'm really unhappy. I'm further extremely disappointed in the multiple names of the companies involved. So to clarify, I started with value added moving, then they show up with rapid express, who load my truck and bring it here on a king transport truck, and now somebody called coastal transport is involved. Who I have no idea? And then I have to report my claim to c s I who was helpful but that will be another review. Until they decide where my property is. Let's remember. I found it in less than twelve hours. I located my missing property, and nobody did a d*** thing about it

If I could give Coastal Moving a 0 star…
If I could give Coastal Moving a 0 star rating I would. They are liars and cheats. I went with this company only after speaking to several moving companies. I spoke to their representative Wesley (doubt that is a real name) and explained I wanted a complete door to door move to include all packaging materials. He assured me my estimate included everything for a full service move. I should have known when they gave me the lowest bid that they were already working their bait and switch game. I signed the estimate and paid them $2,000 in advance. I spoke to Wesley at least twice obtaining the same assurances through out. Fast forward to the day of the move. The company who they brokered out the move to showed up with a truck barely able to fit in the loading areas of both old and locations. They brought some packing materials but not nearly enough, which probably was good, because the onsite company quoted me an additional $4,000 to pack up my household good and deliver them. So the total would have come to $6,900! To move only 1/2 mile. As it was I still ended paying an additional $500 to love my TVs which weren't even included in the estimate even though I was assured they were. This company lied to get my business. The supervervisor I was speaking to on the phone the day of the move who I thought would straighten everything out told me I should have looked at my estimate closer. In hindsight I should have. She was so utterly dismissive of me that I finally just hung up on her. I will tell everyone I know that they should not use coastal Moving. They are just brokers and could care less about their customers. NEver ever hire this company. When they contact you as they will assuredly do if you submit any type of a generic request for a move, hang up on them or tell them NO!

BEWARE of CMS and subcontractor…
BEWARE of CMS and subcontractor Loadrans! I have filed a complaint with the FMCSA (Case #301048) alleging fraud and price extortion. On pickup day, after signing a binding agreement four days earlier, which included EVERY item to shipped, I was charged an additional $5,750 for a 91% increase in cubic feet, because my items were "bulky." I will provide all documentation submitted to the FMCSA upon request.
