Coastal Moving (look at the BBB complaints) will pull a Bait and Switch operation. They are very nice and will give you a low quote making everything easy but then they turn it over to a subcontractor who (they will blame it on them but CM low-balls the contract to get you to sign and you are stuck) upon moving day, comes in and the price doubles, storage fees double too! Go see the Better Business complaint site and you will see! Horrible!

Super Stressful & Expensive Experience
If I could give 0 stars, I would....On 8/5, I received an estimate for moving and clearly stated I had a 10x15 storage unit with Extra Space Storage. I detailed two pickup locations. I was provided an estimate of around 6k, which is now no longer accessible via the estimate link they provided (very suspicious as though they are hiding their bait and switch scheme) nor will their support team provide me the copy. On 8/13, I had another call with Coastal Moving to finalize inventory and the estimate moved up to $12,796.46. When I had inquired about the increase, I was told that the first estimate did not account for the correct unit cubic sq. ft. on the 10x15 unit, which is the fault of the first associate who assisted me. As I had already paid a deposit of the first estimate which was non refundable at this point (post 72 hours after first estimate), I had no choice but to accept the increase. On 8/17, day of pickup, Loadrans LLLC, the moving company, indicated that the cubic sq. ft. was inaccurate in the 2nd estimate and said they had to yet again increase to $15,332.99. At this point, I am operating on the basis of two inaccurate estimates, however, I had already driven to the storage unit (1.5 hours from where I was located) to meet the movers and movers were already on site and given the timing, I had no choice but to proceed with the new estimate in order to move my belongings timely. On 8/27, the movers claimed I had to pay yet another $2,000 in order for them to switch my belongings to a truck that would fit in my neighborhood, even though the truck they picked up my belongings in would've been the right size. The delivery guys did not wear any uniforms and instead of greeting me, the first thing they said was move your car from the driveway. I was so uncomfortable from the experience and scared of more cost increases, I asked them just to put everything in the garage. That meant that not only did I do all of the boxing and wrapping, but I also had to move all of my furniture and boxes myself in the house. For almost $17,000, I could've bought everything new instead of dealing with this stressful company. Overall, the main root of the issue is the inaccurate estimates in a seemingly bait and switch scheme even though I had disclosed the appropriate storage unit size and I felt pushed into a corner everything they increased the cost. This caused great financial distress due to lack of their estimate transparency, unprofessional staff, and lack of support when the issues were raised. I am now looking into a lawsuit to reclaim my losses seeing as many other customers were similarly impacted.

The company is a broker
The company is a broker, thus you should do directly to an actual moving company to reduce cost. Take screen shots of your order if you do use them so that you are not accused of user error when they claim to have not received your information. After providing the information twice, the company that showed up estimated an additional 1960.00 for the move using the same information given to coastal twice. The moving company then loaded my things and delivered it the following night when I clearly wanted the same day delivery. On top of being a nighttime delivery they had an additional client items loaded and now I'm missing several items and boxes. A claim has been filed yet no response. The only great service was the vehicle transportation company which did everything they promised.

Move from Fort Collins CO to PA
I had the worst moving experience imaginable with this company ref Job Number C7216102, and the businesses they outsourced the work to (never told me they were brokers and after accepting contract, they were going to outsource the work to others and be at their mercy). From start to finish, it was a nightmare marked by unprofessionalism, lack of communication, unexpected additional costs that were already included in the quote (four days before pick up date, same date of pickup date and same day of delivery date), unreasonable payment mode at time of delivery by demanding cash, or US Postal Money orders only, no personal check, no bank certified check, or credit card, and utterly disregard to my damage/missing claim which was completely ignored and not answered to as of this writing. What was supposed to be a $6,000.49 move ballooned to $12,826.99 with an almost 100% detail inventory list, with quantities and sizes. When I contacted Aiden Morris at Coastal Moving Services (a person that told me that he was giving me his direct cell phone number to call him with any issues) to inform him of all the additional money I was asked to pay, he hung up the call while I was talking. Didn’t pick up the phone after several tries. The Coastal Moving Services customer service person that informed me that I needed to pay more (4 days before pickup) because of the number of items I was moving even though I provided a very detail inventory list (and provided the list to this person also edited with less items than the 1st list), said that I should have known how moves are handled. They also missed the contracted delivery date by almost two weeks. I am 70 years old, moved alone to a state I never been to and trusted and confided on this company to help my move easier and at a reasonable cost. Coastal Moving Services did the opposite-nightmare. No respect, dishonest, complete disregard for customer satisfaction and complete disregard to the human condition. Save yourself the stress and money, please use any other moving service but this one. I wish I had. You have been warned!

Coastal Moving Services / Loadlan LLC
I recently used Coastal Moving Services (working with their subcontractor Loadlan LLC) for a cross-country move, and it was hands down the worst moving experience I've ever had. This company should come with a warning label.
What Went Wrong:
CREW DRINKING ON THE JOB: The moving crew was literally drinking beer while handling my belongings. When I confronted the foreman about this completely unprofessional and dangerous behavior, he actually tried to justify it by saying "it gives his crew energy." Absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable.
- Massive Property Damage: They damaged approximately 80% of my belongings. This wasn't just minor scuffs - we're talking about extensive damage to furniture, personal items, and valuables that required extensive insurance claims and documentation.
- Deceptive Pricing: The final cost was significantly higher than quoted. They hit you with hidden fees and charges that weren't disclosed upfront, turning what seemed like a reasonable estimate into a financial nightmare. The first quote was $ 21K, but it ballooned to $ 38K.
- Zero Accountability: Their contract is deliberately written to protect them while leaving you completely vulnerable. They take no responsibility for the damage they cause because their agreement barely holds them accountable for anything.
- Complete Lack of Care: It was obvious they had zero respect for my belongings. Items were thrown around, improperly packed, and handled with complete disregard because they knew their contract protected them from consequences.
My Recommendation:
RUN. Find literally any other moving company. The combination of unprofessional drunk workers, deceptive business practices, and a contract designed to screw you over makes this the worst possible choice for your move.
Bottom Line: Coastal Moving Services and Loadlan LLC are in the business of taking your money while destroying your belongings, all while their crews drink beer and laugh about it. The 80% damage rate speaks for itself.
You've been warned - choose ANY other company.

Very terrible service
Very terrible service. They took almost a month to deliver my stuff. No type of communication plus they hire another company to move the item name Rapid Express Moving which was worse. I dont recommend them at all.

This company clain to be a mover and…
This company clain to be a mover and number rating in moving all lies. I book with coastal mover service then after a month I cancel 3 months before my mover they told me to bad I loose the money 1943.00 because I didn't cancel with in 3 days. I was told I had up to 30 days before money to cancel with a 10 cancelation fee. I contacted BBB then coastal mover told me they would give me 1000.00 back . So I called coastal 2 days later they told me it was a one day offer. I am a 100 percent disabled Veteran and real can't afford to lose 1943.00 but coastal mover don't care. Stay Far Away From This Rip Off Company.

FRAUD & HOSTAGE SCAM
FRAUD & HOSTAGE SCAM: Load Ran LLC & Coastal Movers 🚨
My experience with Load Ran LLC and Coastal Movers was nothing short of fraudulent, deceptive, and abusive.
• False “Binding” Estimate: I was promised a guaranteed, final price in writing. I paid nearly half the deposit up front to secure pickup, under the assurance this was the total cost.
• Bait-and-Switch Scheme: Once my belongings were loaded, they suddenly claimed their “system did not properly calculate the cubic size” and demanded over $2,000 more. When I questioned how their system errors could be forced on a customer, I got nowhere.
• Admission of Fraud: A Coastal Movers agent openly admitted I was not supposed to be overcharged and that what happened was a bait-and-switch tactic. But instead of correcting it, he dodged my calls and refused to help once he was on notice.
• Hostage & Extortion Tactics: They declared my deposit “nonrefundable” and refused to release my household goods unless I paid the inflated charges. This is illegal under federal law (49 CFR § 375.403), which prohibits movers from demanding payment above a binding estimate.
• Severe Damages: On top of the fraud, I suffered over $10,000 in damages to my personal property — items broken, , and completely destroyed .
The Truth About This Company
This was not an “error” — this was a calculated scam. Load Ran LLC and Coastal Movers lure customers in with a fake “binding estimate,” demand thousands more mid-move, and hold belongings hostage until you pay. Even their own representative admitted it was bait-and-switch fraud.
Final Warning
If you value your money and your property, stay far away from Load Ran LLC and Coastal Movers. File complaints with the FMCSA, BBB, and your state’s Attorney General if you’ve been a victim. This company profits through lies, intimidation, and exploitation.
No family should have to endure the nightmare they put me through.
