They change the prices over and over. Hire a respectable company with a good reputation. The price is going to be the same in the end and you might as well get a company that doesn’t hire criminals to move your belongings. They took my furniture apart and threw a plate of glass unwrapped into one of my other boxes obviously it broke. Everything else was good because I wrapped it. I paid $30,000 for a move from Connecticut to Nevada. The driver of the tractor trailer hired locals off of Craigslist to move my belongings inside. One of the movers was very questionable. He showed up later looking for money. I messaged the driver and he told me to call the police if he came back. I thought I was hiring a reputable company. Do your research. Know that you are going to pay a lot especially if you have a long distance move but know you will get what you paid for. Just go with the big names not these criminals.

Never call/email and Never use
Never call/email and Never use! If you make the mistake of getting a quote from them they will never stop calling, from different numbers and harass you. They will not listen to you when you say you hired another mover, they will keep calling and texting. If they are this bad at listening to no for just a quote, I cannot even begin to imagine how they will inflate prices on moving day or make mistakes with directions.

UPDATED 2/12/26
I am updating my review because the original was written while we were still in the middle of the process and I felt pressured to remain positive to avoid additional charges.
Unfortunately, our overall experience with this company was extremely disappointing. My daughter’s belongings were delivered more than a month past the agreed-upon timeframe, well beyond what would be considered reasonable. Throughout the process, we encountered repeated attempts to increase charges and add fees.
We were required to sign what felt like hundreds of documents on a dirty iPad with an extremely small font, with key details (such as first date of delivery, accurate address, etc) omitted or unclear. The lack of transparency and professionalism was alarming.
The company as a whole demonstrated a serious lack of integrity and accountability. It is honestly a relief that my daughter’s belongings arrived at all.
I strongly caution anyone considering hiring Coastal Moving Co, Loadrans, or AJ Transit to do extensive research before signing any contracts.

Not the service I was told. AVOID at all costs.
I was given a quote to move an oversized piece of antique furniture about 170 miles. I paid a deposit via credit card. I was to give the driver
$550 upon pick up AND delivery in CASH for a total of about $1900. The day of the move, they demanded another $500 in cash for same day moving. Then, after a talk with the supervisor, they decided not to charge me. Then, there was a $400 oversized fee. I cornered the agent on this charge and she laughed! I cancelled the move. In addition, the movers seemed incompetent and the truck door was too small. I was up front with the agent with pictures, measurements, etc. They were planning to take the antique piece to an undisclosed warehouse for an undetermined period of time. That was not okay. This was not the service I was sold. I am disputing the credit card charge. SCAM!

Avoid these scam artists at all cost!
Whatever you do, DO NOT use this company! I first contacted them because we are moving my elderly mother-in-law and disabled sister-in-law from MD to our home in Michigan. Jason was as nice as could be. He really won me over. He spoke with me and with my mother-in-law, went over her household items, we were paying the movers to pack them up. It's a very tiny house and they aren't bringing hardly any furniture or decor items. Jason sends me the estimate, which was very reasonable, I pay the deposit. Moving day was yesterday and the third party movers they contracted with barely speak English, they arrive at 4 p.m. on a Sunday, and then tell my inlaws the new cost is nearly $2500 more than the estimate Jason had given me because it was "more cubic feet" of items. I don't know how this is possible, considering several items that had been on the original estimate were no longer being moved. Sam, who called me with my final bill of lading had told me we needed $845 at each end for the balance due, now this went up to $2060 at each end!!! Of course I cannot get ahold of anyone from Coastal because now it is Sunday night. I have my elderly mother-in-law and disabled sister-in-law in MD trying to figure out how to deal with this, I'm in Michigan trying to find a solution, while my husband was enroute and in an airport in Philly, I was so furious. This outfit is a TOTAL SCAM. Do not let the nice people who originally talk to you deceive you into thinking this is a good company. I am furious at them and furious at myself for being fooled by their fake reviews on their website and their glossy commercials that are now on my YouTube channel non-stop. I am absolutely sick at the amount of money we now have to pay, and after reading other poor reviews I worry about the condition of their items when and if they finally arrive. The movers also took my mother-in-law's suitcase that was packed for her travel here to Michigan and when they (51 states relocation llc) were contacted they said they were already half-way to New Jersey and wouldn't bring it back. So along with the unexpected huge increase in the move cost, they now have to go buy some clothing so she can travel. This entire experience has been a disaster and you basically have zero recourse to solve the issues. So, all I can say is if you are looking for a moving company, look elsewhere. Coastal presents themselves as a moving company but they are not. You will save a lot of bucks by contacting United van lines or some other reputable mover directly and avoid this "brokerage firm". They are scam artists.

Very high-pressure and uncomfortable…
Very high-pressure and uncomfortable sales tactics. They refused to provide a written estimate, wouldn’t allow time to review it with my spouse, and insisted I stay on the phone or lose my date and discounts. The call ended when they demanded my credit card number without providing anything in writing. Major red flags—proceed with caution.

Terrible Experience
This company provided a lowball quote, and yes, while everything they added is technically listed in the contract as "may add based on your home and location," they use this liberally. We were nickel and dimed for our entire move:
1. Company delivers in a 52" semi and upcharges for delivery in a small vehicle. $1000. Insane.
2. Lowballed on sq. footage and up charged on inventory; ex: added a small hamper (not on original inventory list) that was packed in a box but said it was 10 sq. feet. Insane.
2. Packing services requested and boxes on manifest, however packers up charged us. Additional $3k. Insane!
3. Mass damages - everything was thrown in wardrobe and refurbished boxes w/ NO packing protection (bubble/paper). We lost games, pictures, glass, etc. This was where I lost it on delivery. We had wedding photos and wall art that was packed between(!) heavy materials from our office w/ no packing supplies. Same issues in the kitchen. Den had everything thrown loosely in a wardrobe box.
